Drink lots of water and get potassium in your system (eat a banana or grapefruit) to aid in repairing muscles. Also, workout thru the pain - maybe not the very next day but a day or so later. A nice walk in between is good. Also, a hot bath with epsom salt.

OP, it's very likely water retention from the increase in activity. We all like to think that our efforts will pay off immediately but in most situations, that's just not how our bodies work. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll see progress in no time. This ^^^ our bodies retain water so as to help muscles recover…

I did! While it's not the best excuse, not long after losing the weight I had knee surgery and then 3 years later had another knee surgery. In the past year, I've taken steroids for about 6 months due to asthma flair-ups. All this contributed to my weight gain but the cold hard fact is, I like to eat!

Sorry, but I think the various people telling you to count the calories are giving you support...maybe not what you wanted, which is to have your opinion validated but it is support nonetheless. Why wouldn't you count the calories? That doesn't make any sense...

Just watch how you do your squats so you don't hurt your knees - I've had 3 knee surgeries (not from doing this) and have a possibility of fourth soon.

I love subway! One of our 3 local subways actually ran completely out of bread one night...they weren't busy, just didn't bake enough (or the workers were too lazy to worry about it since they were sitting around flirting with some guys that came in).
