I am SO frustrated! Thanks to weather yesterday and today schools have been closed. No chance to go to the gym. I'm putting a Precor elliptical on my Christmas list next year! I'll have to settle for burning calories at home today but am not getting any elliptical miles in. Holding at 29 for the month so far...

Yes, ma'am it was a December Elliptical Challenge to go 50 miles (or more) on an elliptical this month. I'll get past 50 as well, but not as far as you! Of course, if I had one in MY living room... ;-) Keep it up!

Only got 2.3 done yesterday but am still on clear course for more than 50 by end of month. Going to raise the bar for January!!! Keep up the great work everyone! (vhuber is pulling us along!)

Thanks to circumstances beyond my control I didn't get to the gym today to get my elliptical time in. TOMORROW MORNING I'll be there as soon as my son is on the bus. Strides per mile... I can check for you tomorrow. I go 120 strides per minute for 33 minutes to get 2.3 miles. Doing the math that means about 1722 strides is…

4.6 scheduled for me in the morning will put me over 30. I think in January we'll have to make this a 75 mile challenge? Keep going!!!

no elliptical time for me yesterday or today. HOPEFULLY I can get there in the morning to get some time in. Teaching Monday and Tuesday but for sure I'll get time Weds, Thurs and Fri this week. Hoping to pass the 40 mile mark by Friday the 17th. Keep it up everyone!

I like that "100 mile move your @$$ challenge" idea though. I think I'll have to do that in January. Going to SHOT Show in Vegas and I'll walk (on average) about ten miles per day for five days... I OUGHT to lose a few pounds there.

VHuber is going to kick ALL our butts!!! I didn't get to the gym today; worked out at home and no elliptical here :-( Still... I'm at 22 so far this month so I'm almost half way to the minimum challenge amount less than 1/3 of the way through the month. Keep it up everyone!

The elliptical is my favorite because it's practically zero impact on the knees and back but you get a good level of calories burned. Additionally, he needs to check his nutritional balances. If he's shorting his diet in some places (i.e. not enough protein, or something) then his body might be clinging to calories.

welcome to the new-comers and good job everyone!!! I didn't get there today but will tomorrow - late morning gym time scheduled. 66 minutes minimum (4.6 miles) but might go for 99 and 6.9 miles. I guess I should eat an extra few carbs for breakfast in the morning? Keep up the great job!

6.3 miles today... argh... my legs feel like noodles... LOL But my total's over 17 miles for the month so far - so 1/3 there in 1/5 of the month. If I can do this, YOU can do this! Keep on striding!!

vhuber: you're welcome!!! The gym I go to has precor machines and I actually do use those calorie counts (my HRM is on the fritz; gotta get a new one). However, I try to make up for that by not eating all my exercise calories and if I do any other exercise I take only half credit for any calories MFP tries to give me. Six…
