Jumping on the follow train.

I will try the banana nut flavor soon. Probably not soon enough, but if I just sat down with all the flavors I want to try and ate them at will I'd definitely lose my maintenance status!
-
You can order them directly from the Quest website, too. Just Google Quest protein bar and you should get a hit on the official company website. I got mine at GNC, but they're pretty expensive there, so I'm on a mission to find them cheaper. Ha - on a mission for my Quest!
-
I really wish I could try the chocolate varieties, but I have reflux disease and can't have chocolate (among many, many other things I LOVE to eat!). That's actually one of the reasons I'm loving the Quest bars so much - lots of flavors without chocolate.

So what exactly do you want from the MFP community? Pity? Advice? Support? Magic solution, probably in the form of rainbow unicorn glitter poop? Lessons on how to use punctuation?
-
Just, wow. Life: take two. Not many get that opportunity, and you *created* yours. Well done, my friend.
-
So if it congratulated you for reaching your goal weight, should it also chastise you for being over on subsequent log-ins? I can just see it: "Ooooo, you gained a pound! Well isn't that just too bad. Looks like you shouldn't have switched your goal to maintenance so soon".
-
"I didn't know if that was you or if you had a 12 year old sister we didn't know about" Okay, so I'm skinny, short, and my lady lumps are gone. Maybe I deserved that. I guess it could have been worse. They could have said "12 year old BROTHER"!
-
But it must be true - look how many !!!!!s they used. Ugh. Check first. :grumble:

I weigh every morning and record every day. Weighing and recording on a regular basis, whether it's every Tuesday or every day or on the first Friday of every month is the only way I can think of to get an accurate history of your progress and what affects it. I like daily because it provides a very clear record of gains…

Just like anything else you want to eat or drink - you can either budget calories for it or not eat/drink it. I've lost a total of 20% of my body weight and I drink wine every day.

I went from 126 in 2010 to 103 in 2011. Gained up to 115 last year and put the brakes on it. Held between 113 and 115 until May of this year when I decided to get back to my "fighting weight", and have since gone down to 100-102. Not trying to be mean or dismissive, and I've read the articles about the heavens and earth…

At 5'1" (61") and 100 pounds, my sedentary MFP maintenance level is 1330 calories. So, since I want to eat (and drink!), I have to earn it. Just another reason being short is a pain in the butt.

^ This. I have to shift around a little now in hard chairs, and like the person above, I still have over 20% BF. I think it's just that I'm not used to having less junk in the trunk. On the plus side, it discourages me from sitting around too much

Finally, the perfect way to get those sprint intervals in!
-
So it looks like I'm not breaking any special running rules that I didn't know about after all! Thanks for all the feedback. I continued my greetings this morning on my run. When I didn't get a response, I just chalked it up to profound concentration and silently wished them luck getting through the next intersection in…

Fooooooooood. Tasty, tasty foooooooooood! nom nom nom

Start running today. Don't stop until September 26th. :grumble:
-
No. I usually can't scrape off all the really blackened parts, and they end up tasting funny.
-
Absolutely. I always do what MFP tells me to  ^ Joke, of course. No, not very accurate. I think what they're trying to do is let you know if you're generally on track toward the goals you've set. I like to press the button and have it fuss at me for *eating too few calories*. It's in bold, red text - what's not to…

Okay, sorry... I mean, really sorry here... but....... How did you keep the "girls"????? Those were the first to go on me, and didn't have much to begin with. You're a lucky lady indeed! ETA: You look amazing, BTW. Not trying to take away from that. Yeah, a little jealous.
-
Them: "Don't lose any more weight!" You: "OMG, THANK YOU. I thought you would never give me permission to stop! What took you so long? Do you know how hungry I've been waiting for you to finally tell me that you've decided I'm at the right weight?!?" That ought to shut 'em up.

It's refreshing to see researched and documented information floating like a buoy in the usual sea of "I heard thus-and-such from my brother's yoga instructor" and the like. Nicely done and appreciated, sir!

For me, two pounds up is a fluctuation, three or more is a gain. At 5'1", five pounds on me is a full dress size, so I have to be very careful. I'll let you know if I ever have the problem of being so far under that it bothers me :noway:

I am terrified to switch to maintenance calories. My goal weight was 105. I hit that weeks ago but kept eating at the loss calorie level because I wasn't sure I had actually, really lost the weight. Then I hit 104, then 103, and today 102. I'm still terrified to eat above 1200 calories. I am obviously being obsessive, but…

One glass of wine a week? That's a big steaming pile of nope for this girl. Two to three glasses a night, nearly every night. I eat less so the wine calories fit. And what else fits? My skinny pants, because I've lost weight doing just that. I still think that most people can eat or drink what they want as long as the…
-
Yes yes yes! I drink wine every day. Dinner just isn't right without it. Like others have said, I just "budget" the calories for it and I'm good to go. It's all about priorities
-
Yep, every morning. Lot's of people say it's a bad idea, but it works for me. You can get a good idea of water weight and post-exercise fluctuations that way, too.
-
Interesting point about using gross calories rather than net calories. I'm afraid that would make everything even worse, because it would show that my deficit was smaller, unless I adjust my TDEE higher. Now I'm really starting to wonder how in the heck I've lost so much weight! However, you make good points, and I'm going…

I know 113 seems light already, but I'm so short and have such a small frame that I'm much more comfortable around 102-105. I love being lean, and it helps my climbing tremendously. My ultimate goal is to get back to 18 - 19% BF like I was a couple of years ago.
