I do yoga and bike. I picked up mountain biking recently. It has definitely helped with my balance and core stability. I feel more confident going over those roots and rocks!! (though steep hills are still a struggle)

Haven't yet. Looking...anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

When my alarm goes off, I immediately have to use the bathroom... I change into my workout gear right away. I have to eat before I go, so I get my smoothie made and take of before opening my computer. Then I don't have to think about it throughout the day and I have the afternoon and evening to relax (yoga). After a week…

Dirty clothes (unless your camping/hiking) Pants below the *kitten*. *kitten* crack (seriously, get pants that fit you) Too matchy. (my mom always wants me to help her pick out clothes because she loves the way I dress...fact is, I don't match anything, I compliment. If there is blue in my shirt, I probably won't be…

I would also like to that that when you are lifting, not only engage your core, but also the muscles between your scapulas. (rhomboids and mid traps) They help support that shoulder and the scapulas. http://www.fitpowernation.com/3/post/2012/08/scapular-pain-when-running.html

Maybe they should have taken bets on how often he says "thank you Jesus" or "Oh Lord" PS That camera that goes around in circle can stop.

That one for sure. Plus, I follow Tara Stiles on YouTube and Rachel Brathen on Instagram (though she has a wonderful blog too). Both are very inspirational.

Forgot and just turned it on! Thanks for the reminder.

Any kind of nut, nut butter, avocados. I still eat them, I just make sure I measure (especially the nut butters) and add them to my calorie count!

This is kind of an older thread, but here goes. I do most of my yoga at home, about three times a week. I go to a class on Saturday mornings, when I can (maybe twice a month). I don't follow any videos or DVDs, I make it up as I go along. I love sun salutations and have certain poses that I always like to do. Then I have a…

Yep. And different brands vary too... so dumb.

That's what I use. I've never signed up for anything or paid anything to use it.

I find that in tree pose, if I open my hip wider (which is the proper form) I seem to settle better into the pose. I work in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting and often use the "stand on one foot while you are brushing your teeth and doing the dishes" plan. You can also put a pillow, couch cushion, or towel under your…

I love my home yoga practice, but I also love going to classes. I try to go once a week. Class is where you learn correct posture, movements, and breathing. It also helps me not to get stuck in a "yoga rut" (if there is such a thing!). I learn new things, and come home wanting to try poses again that I haven't tried before…

I think it's a very subjective term. I, too, try to stay away from processed foods and fast foods. I also try to get organic when I can, for sure for certain foods....try to make things at home. Even my favorite snack foods, I try to find homemade recipes..at least then I have to work for them.

I live in a town on Lake Superior. I would love to have a small outfitters store on the lake (or a nice inland lake) where I would have paddleboard rental (maybe kayak/canoes), a small retail store with my favorite brands, and a studio available for bootcamp/yoga/TRX/spin classes. I would also like to be a yoga teacher and…

I'm Tiffany. I actually live in Ashland, WI... trying desperately to get back to MN. I was born and raised in Duluth, with family all over the northern part of MN. If anyone in the Duluth area wants to going hiking with me, I'm totally up for that. I make it back as often as I can!! There are so many great hiking trails…

Plus, they are full of sugar! I love fruit and need to cut back because of their sugar content.

tampon and ibuprofen. Though the last few years I've been on birth control so it's pretty light and I can "decide" when I want to have it so it's fits in with my life. Certainly didn't keep my from my yoga class this morning. When I wasn't on BC, I put in an extra absorbant tampon at the gym, pantyliner, and made sure to…

About a week. I roast them with EVOO or coconut oil and a dash of curry (or whatever I have in my cupboard) until they are soft all the way through.

Usually what makes me stressed is when I have a whole bunch of things that I need to get done before I leave to go somewhere...instead of snacking in front of my computer and procrastinating, making the stress worse, I make a quick list and start at the top. If I'm getting things done, my hands will be too busy to shove…

This was a laugh out loud moment.

I did the cleanse with the catalyst. I used it as a jump start to my new life style. It is expensive, but I followed it and lost 21 lbs. I used the expense and the "challenge" as a reason to really clean out my diet and start paying more attention to what and how much I was eating. The cleanse is mostly just a lot of…

I have to go grocery shopping today. But eggs, coconut water, almond milk, water, mustard, cheddar cheese, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, tomatoes, homemade power bars (that I should probably throw out and make new ones), almond butter, grapefruit, greek yogurt. Freezer: extra lean ground turkey, turkey burgers, chicken…

I've never heard of that workout before, but I know who Chalean is from Turbo Jam...looked it up and watched a short video. I guess I think of strength training and resistance training as pretty subjective terms. Resistance training is a type of strength training. But I always think of it being more with bands, high…

If you include Subway or Culver's then last weekend (I was traveling with a soccer team). Otherwise, the McD's/BK....YEARS! I can't even remember. There is a BK across the road from me and I've never been in it!

I'm up in Duluth. I bought a paddleboard over the winter so I'm excited to get that out soon (it's still only high of 50s right now). Also, planning a camping trip around Lake Superior at the end of July!!! Oh, and five weddings....four in July (!!!!!)

My insurance pays for half IF I go 12 times a month. Money always motivates me. Also, more food. If i get a good workout in, I can eat a little bit more food, maybe even a treat and no feel guilty.

http://www.fitpowernation.com/ask-the-at-blog.html Here is a blog I write for a friend of mine that owns her own personal training business. The blog is pretty casual, but there might be some answers for you there. Read the one on Shin Splints and Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome.
