Half in June
Ok, so it's isn't my first half marathon. I did one back in 2008...maybe it was 2009. But regardless, I didn't train for that one AT ALL. I won the entry and figured I would decide the night before...and I decided just to do it. I think I jogged the first and last 1/2 mile and walked the rest. I believe my time was just…

Starting soon (hopefully today)
A friend has let me borrow her Insanity DVDs. I'm not going to be able to do it exactly as set out due to commitments. But hopefully in three months I'll have completed it. I'm just curious, she has Upper Body Weight Training DVD and I'm not sure where that fits into the program. I tried to start it today, but alas, my DVD…

Yoga Teacher Training
I am looking at starting my yoga teacher training certification, but am not sure which direction to go. The studio I go to isn't my favorite so I know I don't want to go through them. I want to do something that's a little more dynamic, with balancing and inversions, and strong poses and core. (aka, not so "stretchy") I've…

Heading to Germany!! (and Italy and Austria, maybe France)
So, I have committed to a long awaited vacation to Europe. I am visiting a friend in the Stuttgart area (Kirchheim) for about two weeks in July. With a side trip to Austria, Zell am See area (Mittersill, Hintersee) for some hiking and hopefully camping! I could probably talk him into taking a couple hour day trip…

FInally in Onederland
It all started in December...I saw a picture of myself and realized I had gained back all the weight I had lost two years prior. My New Years resolution was to run at least one mile every week. It was very hard at first. I hated running. I would do the mile on the treadmill and then move to the elliptical as soon as I was…

In search of a new shoe
I've been doing a lot of day hiking the past couple years, mostly on the North Shore of Minnesota. I am having a hard time finding a shoe that really holds up well and doesn't give me blisters or sore spots. My most recent pair was Patagonia. I got them about two years ago. They did fine at first, but during my trip to…

MN Mile - Duluth
Anyone doing the Minnesota Mile in Duluth this Sunday? I'm looking to hit around the 10:30 mark and it would be awesome to have a buddy to push me (and vice versa) along the way!

Finished!
I finished the challenge a couple days ago. Down 12.5 lbs and about 4 inches over all (mostly my waist!). (I measured waist, hips, shoulders, arm, thigh, calf, and chest)

Food processor - power bars, etc
I just bought a food processor and am hoping to make some homemade power bars that are lower in sugar. Also looking for other ideas of things to make. I found a recipe for goldfish (my addiction!)...I hoping that if I have to make them, I won't eat them so fast! What do you make with your food processor?

A small success
In yoga class Saturday morning, we were in sumo and given the option of progressing into crow pose. I've tried crow before and have almost fallen on my face, if you know the pose, there is no way your hands will help brace the fall. Anyway, I held it for only a few moments, but could feel my core tighten up and actually…

Little successes this week
I have been avoiding my jeans for months. It was to the point where I was needing to get "fatter" jeans because I couldn't comfortably wear my normal ones anymore. Well, I decided to try a pair on today, and not only was I able to get them on, but I didn't have to suck it in... AND when I sat down I didn't feel like puke.…

MFP calorie estimate or HR monitor
Today I used my HR monitor to get my calories on a hike. I've never actually used it for that before, didn't even know it was an options until I pulled out the manual for a refresher. Anyway, the hike was 90 mins. Mostly uphill on the way out, mostly downhill on the way back. Total of 4 miles. I jogged the last mile…

Trying MFP again, feel free to add
My name is Tiffany. I'm 31. I'm not totally new to this site, I logged in once about a year ago. I was at 260 then, got down to 215, and now back up to 240, I blame the weather last summer (and myself) it was just too hot for my northern Minnesota bones. I have four weddings this summer (not in any, thank goodness!) and…
