I am managing my calories via MyFit and set a goal for myself of about 1390 cal/day. I took a look at my carb intake and it varies between 50-70g. The carbs I am consuming now are just veggies and nuts. I started this "challenge" a week from today.

Thank you for responding. I know handfuls of people who have lost weight with it, but perhaps it is because they had more weight to lose? I know though by not eating sugar it should eliminate excess fat. Does anyone have experience with eliminating sugar and can you speak to how you feel look?

Typically with Paleo it is not about calories. It encourages the consumption of fat and protein and vegetables. I ate fruit in the past.
