Definitely shoes off. I can't stand shoes on carpet.. tracking in all sorts of dirt... makes no sense to me. I sometimes wear slippers or socks but mostly go barefoot. Plus one of my dogs has terrible allergies and likes to rub his face all over the carpet so anything we drag in on the carpet eventually ends up bothering…

Wow, definitely a difference, and in only 3 weeks?! Keep it up!!

I LOVE imitation crab meat lol and I usually have a package or two on hand at all times. On days I want a light dinner I will usually have 2 servings of that with a veggie salad (just chopped up veggies, no lettuce). I usually top the salad w/cilantro and fresh squeezed lemon juice instead of dressing. Sometimes I'll have…

I'm usually up by 6:50 a.m. I have breakfast at work around 8:30 and if I'm really hungry I'll have a snack at 11:15, lunch at 12:30-12:45 and a snack at 3:15. If I'm not hungry at 3:15 I'll save the snack til I get home and have it before my workout. I find that if I eat a snack between breakfast and lunch and again a…

5'3.5" I eat 1610 on non-workout days and up to 2300 on workout days depending on how long I run and/or how intense my lifting is.

What did you set your per week weight loss goal to? Relying on the food labels is great but you have to make sure that you're weighing the food to get to the gram weight on the labels for the serving size- no estimations. How are you entering your exercises into the database? Are you using MFP estimates or using an HRM? If…

Yup! Mine will be 5 next month. They are VERY high energy, stubborn and determined but they are very smart. So smart sometimes that I swear to God Sam does stuff just to piss me off. But, he's the biggest cuddler ever. He has to be next to someone and under the blankets in order to sleep. Also, since their fur is on the…

I couldn't tell if you answered "yes i do" to weighing your food. So, do you weigh your food? From this past week's entries it doesn't appear so. You especially need to be careful about using foods from the database unless you have the same product that's listed with the label in front of you to double check the nutrition…

Yesterday I went down another belt hole on 2 different belts with 2 different pants (jeans and work pants). Woohoo!!!!

I also wonder about the cheese and chicken... if I ever find a cheese that's only 56 calories for 200 grams I think I'd have to buy a lifetime supply

Ugh Mexican food. But, with that said, this is the 3rd time I've been using this site. Before I would stress about the food that went into my diary and more times than not I ended up not logging. This time though I have a different mindset (not really sure what changed, it just did) and now I log everything whether I go…

I'm only just approaching a 20lb loss but I'm noticing that I'm cold ALL the time as well. It's miserable at work some days. But, I can't complain about the loss
-
If you know you're going to eat it later today, or perhaps tomorrow as leftovers, divide the entry in half. Log half for today's lunch and then log the other half when you eat it. You'll still be eating the same total amount whether it's today or tomorrow. It won't make or break your progress.

Are you weighing everything you eat and inputting your own entries rather than using database entries? If you're not weighing/measuring then you're probably eating way more than you think. If you still have problems buy some mixed nuts or avocado or some good cheese and crackers. A couple handfuls of nuts is around 340-400…

1/4 c steel cut oats, 1 tbsp honey, 1 banana and coffeeeeeeeeeeeee

This. And definitely EAT MORE. I honestly don't know how anybody can't eat 1200 calories a day. I can easily do that in one meal w/veggies, meat and rice.
-
That's gotta be a really small banana if it's only 100 calories... ever since I started weighing food I realized that my "small" bananas were quite high in calories. If you're just using a random entry on the database it may actually be more calories than the one you're using. Personally, I'd weigh the banana each time and…

During fall/winter I like to make it in the crockpot overnight so I get several servings for the week (cinnamon apple, pumpkin spice, peach). When I just want to make a few servings for a couple days though I'll make it on the stove and add 1/4 cup of pumpkin puree to the mix, or honey and sliced/mashed bananas. I also…

I cook it in chicken broth then add various spices, but the usual is garlic powder and diced onion. I also use it in place of rice for stuffed peppers.

(I use cardio specifically so I can eat more- because I'm a serious fat kid) [/quote] This is totally me. HAHA. But ya, calorie deficit for weight loss. Strength for maintaining muscle and toning. If you do strictly strength training you will probably find that you will lose some serious inches but your weight probably…

Never assume that anything is correct in the database. A lot of people enter their own food/recipes and then add them to the database. You can manually enter something into your diary by looking at the nutrition information. Or, if you have the app on your phone, use the barcode scanner and enter your servings from there.…

Hi! I looked back at this past week. You're doing a great job logging from what I can tell. A couple of things though: 1. For the foods that say "turkey sandwich" "peanut butter apple" are those recipes that you've put into your recipe builder or are they entries you're taking off the database? Just remember that with…

Thanks for the responses! For now, I'll leave it at the lowered amount that MFP set when I entered my recent loss and see what happens. If I start stalling I'll play with the numbers a bit more. Now I just have to work a little harder to eat those 40 extra calories it took away from me :grumble:
-
Hmmm, not sure. Maybe I haven't lost enough for MFP to make the changes... I just go in each time I drop between 8-10 lbs and enter it manually to see if it changes.

I'm 25 and successfully losing :drinker: I'm quite active on the site- I find that being more active in the forums, on my profile and in my diary help tremendously to keep me on track. Feel free to add me, I'm always looking for new, supportive, motivational friends!

This. You DEFINITELY won't get bulky from doing it. And it is a lot of cardio but there are also some body weight and dumbbell exercises mixed in too. It's a circuit-type workout... moving from one exercise to the next pretty rapidly.
-
I think your initial response was a good one. Besides, you're doing this for you. Continue what you're doing and (maybe) he'll see that even if you get to where you want to be, you'll still have the curves that he likes. If not, at least you lost the weight and you feel better about yourself b/c of it

Like others have said, I wouldn't worry about missing a day and get back to your routine the next day. If it really bothers you, reduce your calories by a couple hundred or whatever you feel is a good compromise. I know it's not the same for everyone but I've had several over days in the past month yet I've still managed…

I have an American Staffordshire Terrier who destroys every toy he gets. Among other things, we have 2 black Kongs which have lasted since we bought them but we also found "Goughnuts". They are fairly priced compared with the Nylabones and Kongs, but the best part is they have a 100% lifetime guarantee. If your dog chews…

HA! I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago with a baby spring mix. I kept filling up my bowl on the scale to get to the grams it said were 1 serving. I was through more than 1/2 of the container by that point so I stopped and just logged 1 serving... it was only 20 calories/serving anyway... but holy cow…
