Thanks for all the responses. You've all been very helpful and made me think a little. I have spent a great deal of my time lately on self improvement. Quitting caffeine was one. That was over 5 weeks ago. I realize now that I should have quit smoking then quit caffeine but I've always been one to do all the easier stuff…

I do take a multivitamin. I have thought about a body detox but I am afraid that the quitting smoking put such a shock on my body that doing a body detox might be something I should hold off on. Not real sure tho but I do have some.

Wow thanks so much! I haven't looked into any of this but surely will.

Would loveto know what u did to reset your metabolism and retrain your body.
-
Yeah I used the patch for 2 weeks then went cold turkey

No I havent but that's a great thing to look into. I personally don't see doctors but I'll check out the symptoms online and see how people deal with it if they have thyroid issues.

Haha if it's just muscle I could live with that but I don't think girls can gain more than 1/2 lb in a week unless ur a superfreak. But thats just a hypothesis. They kinda need to do more studies on how much muscle we can gain a week drug free.

I lift about 3 times a week heavy, usually takes about 30 min each. My sodium hasn't changed. I occasionally go slightly over but usually stay in the green. I am under a great deal of stress. And I sleep an average of 2 hours a day longer than I did before I quit. (from 6 hrs to 8 hrs)

I know only time will tell. Bloating causes some of the weight gain and eating more. Some studies even say that your metabolism stays the same. I did catch myself trying to underestimate my calorie intake and had to slap my hand lol.

Something more people should mention... Quitting smoking also improves your complexion, eye dryness, nails, acne, hair, skin smoothness and to a certain extent, wrinkles. Really I think most of us can agree... We're more into quitting for cosmetic reasons huh? Lol. At least I am. After quitting a week I've already noticed…

Thanks for all your responses! It makes me feel better to know that others have quit without gaining or slowing their weight progress. The oj sounds like a great idea. I expect to be coughing up nastiness any time now lol. I have quit for almost a weeks now and have been handling it quite well. Also oats - I like the way…

[/quote] This goes back into what I call 'Tricking The Effect'. With strength training, and a smart diet, you can drastically change the game up of how you look. Large hips and but, but want slender legs....then stop training legs intensely! Skinny legs and no hips, then train hips and thighs intensely! Going after the…

I've got a challenging question for u ;) We know that cortisol causes midsection fat. We know that genetics play a big part in where u store fat. We know that u can't control where fat falls off first. Genetics say I should be super heavy on top. But I'm not... Maybe I was adopted idk. Lol So here's where it gets tricky.…

This made me lol too :)

And for the creeps out there - Just a tip. You have much more of a chance with a woman if you tell her to her face that she is looking good, and that the hard work she is doing is paying off! She will be appreciative, thankful and it'll make her feel good! If you tell her "The way you sweat makes me want you so bad" or…

Thanks for ur tips! I just came up with a great plan... Coloring in a tinkerbell outfit (wings and all) over the areas I wanna hide. Might even add in the wand :)

I thought of that. Maybe put my kindergarten style art skills to the test in a goofy way =P

Aww that's sweet thank u! I do work extra hard on my chest muscles hoping to plump them up. And I know it's super controversial but I've even thought about using a low stress approach and positive thinking to make them a little bigger. I know I would need to gain a couple extra pounds to try it tho. I know u can't choose…

I can completely understand the different tastes. I've seen it before at my job where the guys preferred the heavier set girls. I know when I go back to dancing I want to make sure the majority would find my body attractive. Nothing worse than feeling all the weight loss was for nothing. I know I'll run across a few of the…

u both mentioned photobucket. I didn't even think about it. And I haven't used it in so long I didn't even know u could set a password. Thanks!

Has anyoe ever said u looked better in ur before pics? That's what I'm kinda afraid of
-
Omg that's exactly what I'm dealing with. It's good to know I'm not the only one complaining of my success lol

A personal trainer can be a huge advantage if u go about it the right way. I would recommend 1 session per week and never miss your sessions. (some places will charge for no-shows). Ask your trainer a ton of questions. Make sure it's someone you are comfortable training with. Some places supposedly have "set fees" but…

Feel free to add me as well. I travel too... Not quite as much fun as yours tho. I live in an 18-wheeler. I add in my strength exercises and my diary is open. All my exercises can be done at home.

Ur not wearing a shirt 0.o

Well being vitamin deficient because of a calorie deficit doesn't exactly aid in weight loss either. Anyway I don't feel like arguing about it. Just trying to help.

A multivitamin is highly recommended. I also take fiber, calcium, and green tea. All of them are metabolism boosters. Only take fiber if ur getting less than 20g/day and follow the directions on the product. If u don't eat enough dairy, ur probably not getting enough calcium. And u don't need an excuse to drink green tea ;)
