Count me in. Maybe this will actually give me some incentive to get my *kitten* in the pool.

Rice, bagels, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, fruit, veggies, oatmeal, dried fruit, fig newtons, pretzels, chocolate milk.

You improve your endurance by running more. You don't say how often you are running. Are you just going out and trying to do your mile and a half as fast as you can every time? The key to endurance is running more miles slowly.

Can you back this up with something? Link? Carbs are necessary for everyone, especially runners.

This is daily life. Not exercise. I wouldn't log it.

No. Not at all. They're like m&m's. But better quality chocolate.
-
YES!!! I will never forget this. The anthem of my youth.

Go to a grocery store that has British import items. Buy Smarties. Buy vanilla ice cream of your choice. I recommend Hagen Daz. Put in Blender. Boom. Smartie McFlurry.
-
Those are NOT Smarties. Those are crap. Smarties are a delicious chocolate candy, like m&m's but better.
-
That's got to be a Canadian product, we don't have Smarties in the US.

I had a terrible case of ITBS during training for my marathon last fall. I suffered through many long runs, took advil to just try and get them done. I foam rolled, stretched, iced, used a knee brace, did hip and glute strengthening exercises, yoga, absolutely nothing helped. I thought I was going to have to give up…

I agree with the others. More miles, consistency and patience will get you the speed you want. For me I have been running for 2 years, I started with 12 minute miles and now run a 9 minute mile easy pace. Race paces are much faster than that. During the 2 years I trained for and ran 3 half marathons and 1 full marathon. It…

And you call yourself a runner? Such a slacker.

I bought the cheapest Tri shorts and top I could find before I did my sprint. I didn't want to invest any money until I knew if I wanted to stick with triathlon. I bought some off Amazon, Danskin brand, less than 20$ per piece and they work great! I actually like the cheap Danskin ones better than the Sugoi ones I upgraded…

Love this! Do what make you happy.

As you already did one half you can answer this question yourself. How did you feel afterward? Were you wrecked for the whole day or were you up and walking around and feeling fine? If you were wrecked then no, you shouldn't do it, it will be too much activity for one day and you won't enjoy the other events. If you felt…

Wow. This is really beautifully stated.

You can't go wrong with a Garmin watch. They have every level of price point and can provide whatever you need in a watch. If your current HRM has Ant+ on it then it will work with a Garmin watch.

I do both. My big "A" races I know almost a year ahead of time that I will be doing and register when registration opens. But I have also done spur of the moment races, like when my husband and I have gone out of town for a weekend.

I love this idea! Every time you go farther than you have before is a pretty big victory.
-
Same for me.

Looks pretty good to me!!

I am pretty sure it changes for bike and run. Don't know about swim, my HRM doesn't work under water. Calories counts are significantly lower for biking.

I am sort of a success story, not because I'm a great swimmer, but I completed an Olympic distance tri with a lake swim. I am a self taught swimmer and I only started swimming with my face in the water a few months ago. I learned to bilateral breathe. I did a sprint tri about 5 weeks ago and it was a disaster, it was a…

I'm drinking coffee right now.:drinker:

This is going to be a major cutback month for me, trying to rest up and recover after my triathlon and before starting training for New York. I'm in for 105.

I think you're doing great. The best thing I ever did for my running speed was to train for a marathon. I took 17 minutes off my half marathon time in a year by doing that and PR'd at every distance in between. Higher mileage is the way to go.

Good review. Why do you think the calorie count is inflated? I have worn mine swimming and it doesn't track that as any steps. Also have worn it cycling and that doesn't track. However on my last ride I put it into the leg of my bike shorts and then it counted steps. I also wore it grocery shopping and because my hands…

Running on a treadmill. Running burns more calories than any other activity.
