I take recipes from cooking light and eat them one night for dinner and the next day for lunch.

I'm usually 2lbs heavier or so. Ive learned not to weigh myself from 2 days prior to my visitor to 2 days after she leaves.

Record it so you know what it is that you ate and you can physically see it. Go back to your normal routine today. Dont eat less or excersize more. Just take it as a learning experience.
