  • Hello Brian My name is Jezebel and I'm an overweight veteran also. Sorry- can't help ya with the gym membership thingie. 8)
  • I believe in personal responsibility. But if cannabis is so dangerous and addictive that it has to be scheduled, then this food, which is engineered to be addictive should be scheduled, too- because looking at the stats, I'm seeing lots of death and disease caused by crappy food... not so much for cannabis. I am not…
  • I used to take antidepressant medications, they.didn't.work. So, I stopped taking them. I am doing so much better now that I am just using natural herbals. I'd tell you more about it, but I can't on here. I wish you the best.:flowerforyou:
  • Did you ever have any luck figuring it out? I have similar issues. I am currently on the doctor merry go round. It sucks.
  • I hate to say it, but when I am pushing it very hard, I just get mad. At the enemy. There is an evil force that wants to hold me back from saving myself and the entire universe. And when I think about quitting, I know the evil force (of death, disease, donuts, sofas and too much facebook frumpy sausage and mediocrity) has…
  • Also wanted to add that if I do not comb my hair, it just dreads into an uncomfortable matted mess. It would pull my scalp- like when someone grabs one or two hairs and pulls- ouch! And I am a wild person, I don't like combing my hair. So, outside of conventional pressures to do certain things with my hair, I would…
  • The dreads in the pic are the first ones I had. About a year after this pic, I cut them- they were too heavy and getting sort of thin. But when I cut them, I did not cut them close to my scalp. I cut them about 3 inches from my scalp and for a minute there I had a bunch of stubbies sticking out in all directions! I combed…
  • When I stopped eating gluten, I did not lose any weight, but shirts that were size medium were suddenly fitting me. My torso shrunk... it was as if the whole area was bloated. I notice that when I lay down on my back on a hard surface and press my fingers (gently) into my stomach area, I can feel that the whole area below…
  • I was just singing this ^ in the kitchen yesterday... No blame, no shame and no regrets- the Lightening Perfect Heart.
  • I am of the opinion that you can't change people. I don't know how other people feel about their vows to their spouse, but for me I feel it is unfair to my spouse to give him some different less-than-ideal version of me after the wedding. It isn't what he married into. That is not to say that something bad couldn't happen…
  • I harvest and make horsetail tea. I know that does not sound appetizing, but it works. It is a wild herb, a plant that is not illegal. I use it for the minerals, the nutrition of it, but after just a day or two, I noticed how the texture of my skin changes. It is like the skin itself is tighter, and smooth, like silk, and…
  • I have been through many bouts of being very depressed, and then not being depressed. I have had Seasonal Affective Disorder, which turned into just plain ole depression 24/7. I realized that the feeling of gratitude is something that I could not really feel when I was very depressed. I could say the words, but the feeling…
  • Also congrats on your progress. Yay!
  • I perused your diary. I felt sad when I looked at it. I guess I just can't fathom eating canned soup... certainly not the kind that has commercials. I know it is the reality of many people's lives and I am spoiled, but I just love fresh, local, organic, non-gmo food. Other than that, I can't say much. I am no role model…
  • I have yet to be diagnosed, but something is amiss in there. Anyway... anyone who wants to add me, please do! I think it is helpful to hear what others are going through to figure out our own issues with health. Thanks!:flowerforyou:
  • THIS^ A quick and useful comeback I keep in my pocket for moments when people are suggesting I change so that I can please them with the way I look, "I didn't ask for your opinion and I'm not here to look the way you want me to."
  • ok I won't.
  • I guess it is helpful somehow to come to terms with the pain we have been dealt. But how are you playing that hand? Don't get stuck in the hurtfulness of it all. Do whatever it takes to let it go and then fill up the space where it was with the opposite: You are beautiful. You are strong. You are disciplined. You can do…
  • I eat mostly organic food. I try not to eat too much sugar, salt or fat. I like kale... but I am weird, so this probably doesn't mean anything. For me, eating clean means not eating things I believe are unhealthy for me, or at least not eating very much of them. I do this by spending a lot of money on organic and local…
  • 46 yo Mom 5'2 CW 165 GW 125 I would like to find my 'twin' for motivation, etc. Thanks!:flowerforyou:
  • I like organic food. I think that, over time the bad stuff in not organic food just weighed me down. With eating the same and exercising so much less due to fatigue- it contributed to weight gain, fat gain. My opinion is that good food is organic, non gmo. I wish you the best. :flowerforyou:
  •
  • My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary. Not of our marriage- I honestly couldn't be sure which day, month or year that happened- it didn't matter too much to either of us. Because, of course it was only the day we signed legal documents for the state... and we only did it to protect our son. So, the…
  • Hello. I'm from Taos, NM USA. I am Wiccan/Taoist, a mom and a wife. I guess I'd have to say that most people here are of earth-centered spirituality, but there isn't too much connecting as a group over it. I live in an earthship community, off grid. Glad to find this group on here! :flowerforyou:
  • When it is time for me to work out, my husband minds our son to make sure he doesn't interrupt me. If he comes in the room while I am grunting and strugglin with my 5th push up, he'll say, "get you some honey!" and then he looks down at me with this gaze that is all at once challenging and resolute, as if he is assessing…
  • I find that it helps to take the best advantage of the times when I feel good and motivated... instead of staying in depressed habits, at those times I try to exploit and expand doing things which increase my strength towards my goals. When I feel good enough (not so depressed) to do something- instead of remaining in a…
  • I love at home workouts. I have taken exercises I can do on the floor or against the wall and made two lists, complete with reps and sets and I check them off when I do them. I sometimes put on an exercise video, and turn off the sound, but instead blast something motivational. I don't do the exercise video, I just use it…
