  • It's really scary how few Non GMO options are left. Thanks for calling this one out! Good grief.
  • You rock! Congratulations!
  • First of all, meat makes me sick. I can't comfortably digest it. It leaves me feeling heavy and lethargic and causes many other digestive issues. So I quit eating it because the taste of it did not outweigh the misery I felt after eating it. However, a black bean burger causes none of these issues. I haven't been able to…
  • The point is: it's not the be all and end all. It isn't the ONLY reason. And therefore grains and legumes aren't the ONLY reason there's sickness, if they contribute at all.
  • Please. If I had relied on Modern Medicine, I'd be dead. Misdiagnosed at 21 and put on potent, life-altering medicine. 10 years later, the doctors realized they made a mistake. Good thing I stopped taking the medicine on my own or I'd be on dialysis right now instead of disease-free and perfectly healthy. Not to mention…
  • How do you fix yours? I like to roast them with pieces of toasted garlic and sea salt. :drinker:
  • I run so much better on empty IF it's first thing in the morning, like between 5:30 and 7. Anytime after that and I've got nothing to offer. My body has realized it's hungry and if I don't feed it and hydrate it, I get stitches in my side and just literally can't function. So weird. So, if I can't hit my window, I have to…
  • I haven't had a soda in over 15 years. I can't imagine NOT drinking water. Most days, I don't drink anything else. As for learning to like it, sometimes you've just got to do it. If you want this bad enough.
  • I gave it up several months ago because I started having heart palpitations after my morning cup. I've always been a black coffee drinker so that wasn't an issue. But I feel so much better without caffeine in my life. I can get up in the morning without issues. I feel better during the day. My energy isn't dependent on…
  • "Oh, you're from Virginia. Is Virginia really for lovers?" Yep, that's what we do. All day. Every day.
  • Get the New Rules of Lifting for Women. It will explain EVERYTHING. I'm on Stage 2 of the program and I couldn't love it more.
  • I've been plant based since January. I love it! Just make sure you eat a wide variety of foods. The more colorful the better. Beans and rice are your friends. I try to stay away from heavily processed soy, but switching to plant based was the best decision I've made.
  • I would try increasing your calories. With only 15 pounds to lose, your settings should be to lose no more than .5 pound a week. I weight train three times a week and do cardio as well. Have you taken your measurements? This is where I've seen the biggest difference. I'm to the point now where I don't care about the scale.…
  • ^^This. I have 20+ pages of recipes logged. I like knowing exactly what I'm eating so this helps me out a lot.
  • Make sure you are properly hydrated. Not drinking enough while it's very hot can make me sick and feel like I don't want to eat. I would try eating cold dishes: salads, cold soups, pasta salad, etc.
  • On any given day, I eat between 500 and 1000 calories of vegetables/fruit. If I didn't count 500-1000 calories a day, I'd be gaining a pound a week minimum instead of losing. Food is food. The quality of the calories is always superior to the quantity, but they're still calories. Count 'em.
  • I had asthma as a child so I grew up thinking I couldn't run. In 2002, I was diagnosed with a form of arthritis so I thought I'd never be able to run because of the damage to my knees. Then, in January 2012, I found out I had been misdiagnosed and there's really nothing wrong with me. So, I started Couch to 5K. And it…
  • I don't have a problem with cheese. Cheese has a problem with me. And so does ice cream and cow's milk. So I avoid them. That doesn't mean anybody else should. You have to do what's right for YOUR body and hope the rest of us will do the same.
  • I've only lost 23 pounds, but I've shed 26 inches and gone from a 12 to an 8 (some of my old 6s even fit now). It just depends on where the inches come off.
  • I have a Polar FT4 and wear it specifically when I work out. It tells me how many calories I burn for that activity. I love it. Takes away the guesswork. Also helps me make sure I keep my heart rate in a healthy zone.
  • Have you thought about getting a heart rate monitor?
  • Why is it up to someone else to tell us when we're gaining weight or making bad choices? If you really want to encourage change, be the change. A couple of weeks after I started working out, my partner started working out. I didn't have to say a word other than how good exercising was making me feel. I didn't have to hurt…
  • I typically sautée vegetables in water or vegetable broth. All you need is the liquid to keep it from sticking to the pan. Works well and cuts out a lot of unnecessary fat and calories. I'd much rather spend that 100 calories on something I can chew rather than something I can barely taste.
  • I just finished and had good success running Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. I did run a couple of days in a row if my schedule changed, but my ability suffered. The rest day was important for me. Good luck!
  • Excellent work!
  • I simply stopped liking the taste of meat. I felt heavy and sluggish after eating it. I gave up beef for health reasons a decade ago. Chicken and pork came more recently. I still eat fish, but on a normal week only once. I've seen all the documentaries and I like the fact that it's more sustainable and better for the world…
  • I don't like Oreos. And clearly, I did not mean that I like poisonous mushrooms or plants. Get a grip.
  • I think people could tell me that fruit is being poisoned by the Decepticons and it wouldn't matter to me. If it comes from the ground or grows on a tree, I'm going to eat it. ALL of it. Period.
  • Wow. I have an FT4 and I've never had this problem. I agree that it sounds like a bad strap or one that isn't connecting properly.
