Is it ok to laugh, or is it too soon?

although there is no such thing as spot reduction, take solace in knowing that research indicates carrying fat in the hips and legs is significantly less of a health concern than belly fat. A silver lining?

Post workout is the BEST time to eat. Just eat slowly to prevent overeating.

But funny none the less.

I prefer brunettes but I'm not sure I qualify as a gentleman.

Great advise. Being positive is good for the body and the mind. Feel free to friend me if you are looking for support.

I had a heart attack 2/4/12. My cholesterol was 350 and I had a 100% blockage in one of my arteries and a 60% block in a second artery. I'm only 43 years old! I got a second chance to live and I'm not wasting it because I like hamburgers. Got my cholesterol down to 189 and I'm down eight lbs in the last 4 weeks. (that's…

I do eat carbs with my last meal but try to eat early enough to metabolize them. A six o'clock dinner seems to work for me, then I have a last snack of either egg whites or milk which metabolize very quickly. The body does a lot of repair work while you sleep so I try to get in easily metabolized essential amino acids as a…

I made my original post after getting attacked for saying people should not drop below their BMR. I just thought a heads up should was in order. The best thing I've ever read was to take advise to the pro's and see if they agree.

Great point.

I noticed you didn't answer any of my questions. Does that mean you think all of the advice here is good, safe advice? How am I a hypocrite for saying be careful. I never told people "not to trust any of the information posted here". On the contrary, I said there is both good and bad advice. I never claimed to be anything…

I'm not really sure why I'm still addressing this but perhaps you should re-read my post. I said "there is great advice and not so great advise". What part of that do you disagree with? Do you really think all of the advise here is good? Have you ever read anything that you might consider dangerous? All I'm saying to the…

FYI the BMI scale is the worst tool in the tool box. It was invented by the insurance industry in order to assist in rate configuration. My trainer is on the shorted side and is like 7% body fat, but the BMI chart calls him morbidly obese. It only uses hight and weight but is indiscriminate as to whether or not that weight…

What I love about my eating lifestyle is I get variety. I eat pizza and pasta!. The key is smaller portions of pizza and have a salad with it. Salad has bulk and you can eat lots of it. Eat chicken and lean beef, but don't make the protein the focal point of the meal. Instead of a steak and a side salad, have a salad and a…

Many people will disagree with me but my nutritionist has strongly emphasized the importance of staying above your BMR. That is the minimum energy needed for normal body function. My Nutrition professor would advise you to be below your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) but ABOVE your BMR. The auto calculator on MFP…

My MD suggested higher calorie items that have GOOD fat. Nuts are a great way to meat calorie goals in a healthy way.

Anyone who is interested in safe consistent weight loss is welcome to friend me. If you're one of those people who think eating below your BMR is safe and extreme weight loss is sustainable then I'm not really going to be a great friend for you. I get all of my advice from my MD. a nutritionist, and the Mayo Clinic. I'm…

You can do this! Slow and constant weight loss has been proven to provide the best results. (Mayo Clinic says 1-2 lbs a week.) Feel free to add me if you like. I've been dropping 2 lbs a week consistently with the help of a nutritionist and my MD.

First and foremost, lose the weight for you; not for anyone else. Every human being has intrinsic value, and as someone with immense worth, you should care fore your self. As for the BF, is that really the guy you want to grow old with?

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by six.

My wife has been running for over 25 years. She will only wear Saucony. (She's run 8 marathons and countless halves.) She says that Saucony runs a little wide, which is good for wider feet, and allows for swelling while running. Make sure to go to a specialty running store where they can give you proper advice. Also, most…

My dog is soooo happy I'm not eating the yolks any more. I use them to trick her into taking her pills.

No offense but I don't think that's accurate. To safely loss weight a person should stay above their BMR but below total calories burned. The BMR id the calories needed for normal bodily function if a person never got out of bed.
