  • Today was: Squat 5x50,65,75,90; 3x100; 8x75 Today was one of those days that I am so glad that I lift at home. I fell back on my first rep on my warm-ups. Thankfully my husband was behind me laughing and was able to grab the bar for me so I could get back up. I guess that proves my point that I cannot push my hips back any…
  • @Ohhim I'm sorry that you were bit. Good luck on your tri! I did 2 miles on the rec center track on Wednesday and 2 miles outside today. I pushed myself just a little bit harder than I have been lately and I didn't get any grief from my leg. Next week I am going to start adding a mile a week and I am really looking forward…
  • Today was: Squat 5x50,65,75,75 Ohp 5x45,45,55,60 Deadlift 5x95,115,135,155 Pause deadlift 3x3x115 Hip thrust 3x10x125 Ab wheel 3x10 Assisted pullup 3x5 I think everything went pretty well today. Standing up and resetting after each deadlift seemed to help my deadlift form.
  • Last night was Squat 5x50,65,75,90,100 My hips came up too fast in a couple reps but most were good. Pause squat 3x5x75 Bench 5x45,55,70,80,90 That last set was really hard. I have done 95 for 6 reps before so I was pretty disappointed with that. Pause bench 3x5x70 Row 4x5x65; 5x75 The last set of rows were heavy too.…
  • I posted my workout yesterday in the July thread not even realizing that it was August. Duh! @DawnEmbers I was under the impression that keeping knees behind the toes is a myth. In Starting Strength, Rippetoe says, "For the back squat, when the bar is just below the spine of the scapula, the back will be at a much more…
  • 8/2 2 miles. It was my first time running outside this summer so I am going to choose to be happy about running in 80 degree weather with no pain in my leg instead of complaining about how slow it was. I am very thankful that we don't really deal with humidity in Colorado.
  • Today was: Squat 5x50,60,70,85; 3x100; 8x70 Yay for being back up to triple digits! Bench 5x45,55,65,75; 3x90; 8x65 Row 4x5x65; 3x75; 8x65 Front squat 2x5x55 Russian curl 3x8 Holy glutes! Assisted chin-ups with negatives 3x5 I was fairly pleased with my form today so yay for that.
  • I have been having a bad flare of some inflammation I have in my chest and hands so I wasn't feeling great today and almost skipped my workout but I remembered that usually when I skip a workout my body ends up feeling worse so I just kept it short tonight. Squat 5x50,60,70,70 OHP 5x45,45,55,60 Deadlift 5x95,115,130,150 I…

  • I have 29 miles planned for August. My bigger goal is to be able to run outside again without my leg hurting. The indoor track is making a little crazy.
  • 31 minutes today. I am so glad that I met my goal this month without irritating my tibia too much. I am going to take it easy again in August and hopefully by September I can start ramping up my mileage agin.
  • Welcome, @blackcoffeeandcherrypie @DawnEmbers I am a bit jealous of your body weight squats. I have been lifting for a long time and was close, but haven't been able to match my body weight yet. That's my goal before the end of the year. Last night I did: Squat 5x50,60,70,85,95 Easy enough but I'm worried my hips are going…
  • 33 minutes on Friday and 32 minutes yesterday brought me to 213.5/220 minutes. Yesterday I ran with no walk breaks which was exciting for me. I can't seem to push past a 15 minute mile without my leg starting to hurt but at least my heart rate is doing pretty well.
  • @canadianlbs That sounds really awesome! Today was: Squat 5x50,60,70,85; 3x95; 8x70 Bench 5x45,55,65,75; 3x85; 8x65 Row 4x5x65; 3x75; 8x65 (I have 10# bumper plates so I won't go lower than 65# for these.) Front squat 3x8x45 Nothing too exciting. I suck at front squats but I guess that means I just need to practice more.
  • @awkwardsoul I hope that your back continues to feel good. @krokador I hope your shoulder recovers quickly. Today I did: Squat 5x50,60,70,70 OHP 5x45,45,55,60 Deadlift 90,110,125,145 Pause deadlift 3x5x110 Ab wheel 3x10 I saw a lot of improvement in my form when I added pause squats, bench presses, and deadlifts as…
  • 34 minutes today. I have found that I can get my leg to not hurt if I run(wog??) at a very slow pace. I would rather do that than not run at all I suppose. Hopefully I can get a strong aerobic base doing that. :)
  • Today was: Squat 5x50,60,70,85,95 Bench 5x45,55,65,75,85 Row 4x5x65,5x75 Glute bridge 3x10x140 It feels weird to do squats at 95 and be done when I was up to 140 but I don't want to cause any problems in my tibia if the stress fracture I had is still healing. It was achy a bit when I tried to run on Sunday but it felt fine…
  • @JimCrackinDandy Congrats on your HM! Yesterday I decided to try two miles using 2 minutes run/1 minute walk. I used the Galloway method for a half marathon a few years ago and had a good experience so I am thinking I may just do run/walk/run for a while. My right tibia started aching so I only made it 15 minutes. I don't…
  • Hi, everyone. I hope that it's alright if I start posting here with all of you. I have been lifting for the past 16 months. I made it through Stronglifts and quite a few cycles of 531; however, I ended up with a stress fracture in my right tibia and had to take some time off. I am just getting back to it and am attempting…
  • 21.5 minutes today. So far I have either been doing more walking than running or equal amounts of running and walking but today was 16 minutes running with 5.5 minutes walking. I was really nervous about my leg but it felt completely fine. I am so so glad! I just wish I knew what I had done wrong because I don't want to…
  • 18 minutes today. I decided to do each week of c25k two times instead of three. I am getting antsy with these really short runs when I am used to doing 45 minutes+four times a week but I am really trying not to hurt myself again.
  • ^^^This with a side of ice cream. I live just outside of Boulder and I have no idea what a Colorado diet is.
  • 18 minutes today. I have been worried because my leg seems a bit achy when I am at rest but it hasn't been hurting at all when I run. I think I am psyching myself out a bit.
  • 21 more minutes today
  • I didn't even think to write them. I will do that, thanks. In the mean time I did a Google search and found a thread where Cortelli had said it was 100+ grams so I just measured out 100 grams. I am so very thankful for you guys because I don't think I would have ever considered trying Gelato Fiasco because of the price but…
  • I apologize for the stupid question but I was excited to find Gelato Fiasco today and I picked up the dark chocolate sea salt caramel. However, I am not sure how many grams their 1/2 cup serving is. Do any of you know?
  • Hi, everyone. My sport's medicine doc told me yesterday that I could start trying to do some run/walk intervals and build myself back up again. I decided to pretty much just go back to c25k because I am also trying to build my squat and deadlift back up and I don't want to overdo it. I did a week2day2 run today and had no…
  • That cardio is required for weight loss.
  • People in this thread have been advocating eating mostly nutrient dense food and fitting in treats you like as you can. How is that different from the 80/20 clean eating thing?
  • I've missed posting with you guys. I went to a sports medicine doctor since my leg was not getting better and after an MRI I found out today that I have a stress fracture. I think he said in my right tibia. I'm frustrated because I do a good amount of strength training and am conservative with mileage in hopes of…
