6/1 30 minutes My calves are still pretty sore from running the Bolder Boulder on Monday so just 30 easy minutes for me today. My heart rate only got up to 157 on my first mile which is the lowest I think my heart rate has ever been by my first mile. Yay!

I'm not going to set a mileage goal this month. I'm going from being a stay-at-home mom for the past eight years to working full time with a commute starting next week. Therefore, my goal in June is to find a routine that will still allow me to run and lift. :#

5/20 6 miles I don't remember the last time I updated so I will just mention today's run. I broke a rule and did my longish 80 minute run in brand new shoes. I was very excited to have received my second pair of Newton Kismets in the mail and I didn't want to wait to use them. I think I will definitely only be running for…

5/2 3.37 miles 5/5 5.86 miles 5/10 3.7 miles 5/11 4 miles I haven't been feeling well lately. I missed a few runs last week and then another one on Monday. I did some intervals yesterday and they were hard so I went for a recovery pace run today. I am also one of those people who find it common to have an average heart…

Congrats on a great race, @Ohhim ! Congratulations on your PR, @kristinegift !

I am hoping for 60 miles in May.

4/29 2.25 miles 4/30 5.22 miles Finally reached my goal of 50 miles!! I've had the same goal for months but would have an awful flare or something and couldn't make it. Yay! I went out for a short run yesterday to find out how my calf was feeling even though my schedule has me resting on Fridays. It was a little achy but…

I went out for a usual easy run on Monday but only made it 3/10 of a mile before I called it quits. Right above my achilles on my left leg was really bothering me and I was nervous it was going to mess up my gait. I haven't ran or lifted until today. That part of my leg didn't start aching until I was just about done with…

@snha I am so sorry about your stress fracture. It was around this time last year that I got a stress fracture in my right tibia. :/ 4/22 5.18 I did tomorrow's longer run today with the plan to do today's shorter run tomorrow. I find it easier to be motivated on Fridays since I am already out after dropping my kids off at…

Adding 2.95 miles last night and 3.35 miles this morning. Last night's run was intervals and my quads were having a tough time keeping up on this morning's easy run because of how well intervals went last night. I wouldn't normally run the day after doing intervals but I had to miss running on Monday because my son was…

Congratulations @MobyCarp !!!

4/15 5.16 miles Today was supposed to be a rest day but we are expecting a snow storm this weekend so I went ahead and got tomorrow's run done today instead of waiting to see what it would look like outside in the morning. I kept my pace around the same easy pace I did yesterday. After I hit 3 miles everything felt great.…

4/14 2.94 I kept my pace at the slower end of my easy range range because I am so sore from my squats workout yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised how well my heart rate did since it was a bit warm out. It was a mostly enjoyable run today.

4/12 2.93 miles Today was intervals and it wasn't as bad as I thought it might have been. I hit a big PR on deadlifts last night and was super excited until I realized how my legs were feeling this morning. It wasn't until I tried walking up the stairs to my apartment after my run that my legs really started to get angry…

4/11 3.39 miles I stopped my watch at the 45 minute mark since that was how long I was supposed to run today without looking at my mileage first. If I had, I would have gone that last 0.01 miles. That probably shouldn't be bugging me as much as it is. :p Oh well!

Congratulations to all the racers today!! Although it wasn't an official race, I did my own 5k race test today. I have done a 10k and a half marathon before but I have never done a 5k race. I always seem to apologize for being so slow (not that anyone here has ever made me feel like I need to) but I think I have been…

I ran 3.01 easy miles last night. The wind made it a bit chilly out so I wore a long sleeve shirt and covered my watch with my sleeve so that I couldn't see how fast I was going. I just wanted to run for fun. My pace ended up being about 10 seconds faster than my easy pace has been lately and that was in the wind. I'm…

Thank you for your response and the article, MobyCarp! That was really helpful.

4/2 5.16 miles. For some reason my heart rate cannot seem to handle the temperature to be over 40 degrees. It was 55 degrees out when I started my run today and my heart rate that usually goes up to around 170 within my first mile went up to 182. Blah! I have never done any speed work before so I have a question if that is…

I am following a plan leading up to the Bolder Boulder but it has each run by time rather than miles. Since I am a slow runner, I am going to plan for 50 in April although I am definitely hoping to get more.

I would like to join.

I am also one of the members who reads all the posts but I just can't seem to get to responding to everyone. I ran 2 miles yesterday and 5 miles today. I don't know what is going on with me this week but my workouts don't seem to be going right. I did squats on Monday that felt crazy hard and I wasn't sure I was going to…

Today's 5-miler was difficult. It snowed 13 inches here between Sunday and yesterday so I decided to go on the bike path that is regularly cleared. It was probably 50-50 between being clear or packed snow with some ice. My heart rate was definitely higher than it usually is at the pace I was going so I am guessing I was…

I am going to set my February goal low at 40 miles. I have several things going on in the month that conflict with the days I run and I'm just not sure I will find a way around them.

4 miles for me today. I was pleasantly surprised that it went so well considering I hit a PR on my deadlifts last night and I wasn't sure how my hamstrings would be feeling today. I'm noticing my heart rate is jumping up high during my first mile and then lowering before gradually getting higher through the rest of the…

2 miles yesterday and 5 today. My 5-miler went a lot better today than it did last week. I am starting over with my goal of getting 5 miles within an hour and I am 7 minutes away. I have been hitting the weights a bit harder lately and my legs have definitely been feeling it so I am ok with it taking a bit to get down.
-
The 5-miler I did on Wednesday felt awful and I was pretty upset about it but I ran 4 today at pretty much the same pace and everything went great. It's been awhile since I have had an enjoyable run. I'm sure it's because I took four weeks off for a flare and sickness so hopefully that won't happen again. I think I need to…

2 miles yesterday and 5 today.

I am definitely not going to reach my goal this month. I have been going through an RA flare and the cold has just been too much on me. Last week I ran 2 miles on the treadmill and my knee ended up bothering me for a few days so I think the treadmill is out. I got out there for 3 miles on Monday and was so happy to be…
