Try it and let the rest of us know. Inquiring minds, and all that...

I decided to up my calories to my TDEE over the course of the next two months so that I can relax and enjoy. I won't be logging on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's at all. There comes a point where it really is a life-style change, and I, like you, am there. Eating too much for a couple of days a year isn't going to…

Hello, all! I'm Merithyn on the NaNo boards. I've been doing this since 2009, though I took last year off. This year, I'm more than ready to dig in! The one year that I completed (year two) I wrote a children's chapter book. It was total crap, but I had fun writing it! This year, I'll be writing some Chick Lit. Sooooo…

This will be my fourth attempt. I'm completed it once. Last year I didn't even bother. Cannot WAIT for midnight to get here!

Hello, all! I'm a 42 year old mom to Carter (18), Jackson (18), Jeremy (17), and Riley (13 and my only girl). I'm also 13 years post-surgical-menopausal. I live in Central Illinois with my amazing husband, Max, and three of the four kids. The eldest two have graduated from high school and are now going to community…

Wow! That's so amazing! Good for you!!!

Congrats! I bet you feel incredible!! I'm running my first 5k in less than two weeks. I haven't ran more than a mile at once yet, so I'm hoping that the same phenomenon that happened to you will work for me, too! You give me hope!

^^This. As for suggestions, have you looked into the less-impact exercises like Yoga?

You look stunning! Can't see the before; I guess you really do hate that pic! I'm glad you've made such positive changes for yourself. You're an inspiration to me. :flowerforyou:

My husband had a personal scent made for me that he called The Dirty Woodsman. It combines the essential oils called "dirt" and "woodsman", hence the name. I added a bit of bergomat to it for tang, and I absolutely love it!

How about we just accept that our responsibility is to ourselves, and it is not our responsibility to tell others how to live their lives? This isn't giving everyone a trophy for participating. This is directly - and offensively - telling someone how to live their life. THAT is not acceptable.

Very well said, and what I was thinking throughout this thread. Especially that first line. You, sir, are my new hero. :flowerforyou:

I net around 1500 calories a day, and that's with eating back my exercise calories. On that diet, I've lost 1# a week, on average. Some weeks, I lose nothing; other weeks, I lose several pounds. That being said, I'm not perfect with my tracking or my measuring. But 18 weeks in, and I've lost 18.8 pounds, so what I'm doing…

Thanks, everyone. :flowerforyou:

I'm 5'2" and four months into MFP. Here are my pics:

Take pictures! I promise, you'll see a HUGE difference when you do that. If I hadn't started taking pics, I would still feel like I hadn't done much of anything (really?? Only 18 pounds after four months???) but I see those pics and I realize, wow! I have done GREAT!
-
I feel like this a LOT! I've found that I can go several weeks and not lose much of anything, but when I take my measurements, I've lost several inches. Take measurements - and lots of pictures! THAT's where you're going to see the biggest difference. The scale is nothing but a big, ugly brick, and I ignore it as much as I…

You're such a beautiful woman! Your smile is so contagious! And you already know this, but wow, you look absolutely amazing!

Please tell me you're joking. There is no way that I'm going to eat a muffin that is more than 1/3 of my daily calories. Ever. I don't even want to eat half of one! I'm sure as hell not going to eat "everything". *shudder*

Nicely done! That's a huge NSV! Mine is that I got up and ran this morning despite my brain telling me over and over again that I really didn't need to. Yes, yes I did need to, and I feel a million times better that I did it.

It's painted on top then coated with a clear coat of shellac. The design is based on a pic of a 13th Century Mongolian box. That box was more ornate than mine, but I was nervous that I would screw it up if I tried to be more creative with the gold paint, so I didn't try it. And thanks everyone for the comments!

Ugh! Took two days off from tracking and gained two pounds (likely water weight from all of the sodium I ate). Anyway, final weight: 170. :grumble:
-
Hey, where are my "atta girl"s! It's not a good job unless everyone says so, dangit!

168 I'm under 170!!

I have two friends who have done this diet. They lost the weight quickly, easily, and looked great... for about three months. Even with the increase in exercise, they gained all of it back and then some. They've gone on it again, done the same things, lost the weight... gained it all back within three months of increasing…

I used to work in a toffee factory. I was allowed to eat all the toffee I wanted since the owner figured I'd be tired of it soon enough. Never. Happened. Luckily, the owner also ran me off my feet, so I ended up losing a little weight at that job.
-
Probably better to increase your calories for this rather than to cut them. Regardless, good luck.

170.4

170.8 EDIT: Didn't realize that I forgot last week's weigh-in! This is what I weighed, though. I'll post this week's in the correct thread.

New developments: The information I was given was partially correct, but not 100% correct. The company will indeed be charging a premium for insurance based on the BMI (to the tune of 20%!!). However, the incorrect part was that it was already in place. That is not the case. Apparently, it won't start until January 1,…
