^^^This^^^ It's good to have what you take on your records too, just in case

This site doesn't allow the language I require to describe how I'm feeling now. Hideous cramps, despite enough dihydrocodeine to turn my brain to mush, it's 4.45am and I've not been able to sleep all night.

With 10k steps, isn't the average burn nearer 500cals?

That seems high. Are you really tall? NHS recommendations are 2000 calories per day for women. One of the top reasons people here don't lose at first is that they fail to weigh what they're eating. It's a good investment.

My diet is mostly fruit and veg, with a side of protein. If I didn't log the fruit and veg, it would frequently look like I'm eating 300 calories a day!
-
If you eat 5000 cals of veg a day, you're still going to get fat.

I understand your pain. I was a massive salt eater until I had kids, but as soon as I had them (up until they were older teens) I stopped having it in house at all, and drastically reduced the processed foods that contain high amounts. I went cold turkey, and it was miserable at first. The good news is that you adjust…

I was raised to say thank you. So was my boss.

I'm exactly the same way with housework! The "if you just try hard enough to be like everyone else!" thing has never and will never work for me, so I shifted my mindset. A weakness is only a weakness until you find a strategy to work around it.

Maybe meditation/relaxation would help? Learning to be aware of and release tension in your body, whilst clearing your mind of the day's stresses. There's a lot of guided meditations to be found online, for free. It's worth trying a few to see if that helps.

It's the sort of thing nobody would say to me, because they can imagine how I might react. You don't need to be polite when responding to rudeness. I think this is one area where I actually have a distinct advantage because I'm socially tone deaf :D

Until the toyboy moved in, I had no idea about barbells. We now have standard, triceps, EZ and Olympic bars, Dumbbells, and plates going from tiny up to 20s. Love the triceps bar, but loathe the EZ (which just feels like it's peeling my palms).

It's such a sensible, prudent thing to do that I've really tried to get past the mental aspect in the past, but eventually I just had to concede defeat on that one. It really is just beyond my capabilities. I get the feeling that a lot of neurotypicals probably find it difficult or impossible, but that it's harder not to…

I drink a "detox tea", but only because fennel and aniseed are yummy. If they relabeled it "grow horns tea", I'd still drink it. The new name would be equally appropriate.

You really shouldn't assume that things are easy for everyone if they're easy for you.

M&S and Waitrose salad boxes look amazing, but I've never tried them. That's a pretty good substitution if your usual go to would be a large McMeal with a sugary beverage. Love goats cheese. Personally, I'd have had fruit instead of crisps. Fruit and cheese are so good together.

They'll be fine tomorrow.

I think an axe should count as workout gear, but I wouldn't trust myself to try it! Your workout plan has served people well enough for thousands of years. If we all lived like that, there'd be little call for gyms.

I hate cooking. I blame it on years of carefully preparing balanced, healthy, mostly organic meals from scratch, to feed to my kids who would rather be eating chicken nuggets! Now they're grown, I end up eating a lot of raw fruit and vegetables, maybe microwaving the occasional potato, and my other half cooks a few days a…

Thanks! I <3 my Eddybear.

Seems low. A popular theory is that one of the main reasons for evolving bipedal walking is that it uses fewer calories. Maybe we should start crawling for health.

No makeup selfie :# In case there's any confusion, I'm the one in the t-shirt.

There's really no substitute for logging.

Being polite to people who have access to your food is a simple act of self preservation. When I see rude people eating out, I always wonder what hidden extras they're getting.

I'm autistic. The list of people I can't relate to would go on forever. :D

I'm going to say what I always seem to say in threads like this... If your form is good and you still feel pain, I'd suggest asking your doctor before you carry on. Maybe get referred to a physio if your doc thinks that's appropriate. There might be a reason for the pain, and you don't want to aggravate a problem by…

This post deserves a gold star.

He wanted to take me to see mamma Mia. Because "women like mamma Mia!" :|

Anecdotal, of course, but... If men genuinely believe that catcallers are something I'd enjoy, why is it I've had them when I'm alone or with my children, but never when I'm with a man or a large dog? And why have I been catcalled more often by men in pack than solo men? And why have I almost never been catcalled in…

The gym/pools I've used most often have private changing rooms/cubicles with a built in shower. Privacy guaranteed. Otherwise, I either work out in the morning or evening, which solves the dilemma of extra showers. Too much washing is actually really bad for skin health, can damage the balance of healthy bacteria and can…
