  • I try to stick to the outside aisle of the grocery store. Meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy. There are so many selections it's mind boggling but something you have to be willing to do is try things you've never tried before. Good luck!!
  • It does seem to get a little bit better as you exercise more. When I hit 50 pounds the skin under my chin was horrible! I've been exercising and I'm beginning to notice it's not quite as loose as it was. Some of it will never go away but over time the body does pull in a little of it. Hang in there....no pun…
  • I have the Polar F6 too! Very simple to use, very accurate, and very comfortable. I have large wrists and the band has a wide range of length and it fits me perfect with another 5-6 holes to go. I have been very pleased with it- I've had it since the end of November.
  • if it was one time only thing, it could have been gas but you do need to see a Dr. if it happens again. A gas bubble that gets stuck in your intestine can feel like that and it will cause you to have bloated full feeling. Acid reflux can cause the same feeling- if the Zantac really did help, that's likely what it is. But…
  • Hi! I live in Chatham. I love this site- it has definitely made a difference in my efforts.
  • I have the Polar F6- LOVE it. I wear anytime I exercise. That little beep that let's me know that I'm below my target heart rate range makes me work harder to get back up there. I love being able to time out a walk and then look at the calories burned and realize how it's benefited me. I think mine has made me more…
  • Wow! That is all I can say. You earned the right to post those pics and I appreciate knowing that it has and CAN be done! congratulations!!
  • I've never taken Wellbutrin but I'm a nurse and have had quite a few patients who took it. That medication tells the brain that you're satisfied- that's why you tend to lose weight. It's used to stop smoking too. It will probably help you reach your goal a bit easier. Enjoy it!! haha
  • Wendy's has a really good grilled chicken sandwich! Subway is great. Applebees has a lot of really good choices and they're very nice portions and very tasty. Good luck!
  • Polar F6- had NO idea I would use it as much as I have and LOVE It!! Extremely simple to use and very accurate.
  • You can go online and look up what your target heart rate is by your age, height, and weight. There is even a method to calculate calories burned by heart rate but it's very complicated in my opinion. If you get a heart rate monitor, the HRM figures it for you. You program the HRM with you personal information and when you…
  • Just be consistent with how and when you weigh. If that's your norm then stick to it!
  • I'm a school nurse and yes- I battle that too! I try to keep a few healthy snacks on hand to choose over the high fat stuff. Christmas week was a killer- hoping it will settle down a bit now that the holiday is over. Friend me if you'd like some support though!
  • I have the Polar F6- it's about $105 at ****s. It's very good and extremely easy to set up and use. You program it with your personal information and it figures what your goal heart rate range is. As you exercise it alarms if you fall below or go above your recommended heart rate. When you finish you push the button saying…
  • Stretching before a walk helps and then starting slow and building up on the walk. I start on a treadmill at 2mph and within 3-4 minutes work up in little intervals to 4mph. That gives the muscles time to wake up and get limber. Increasing potassium helps if y ou have cramps in the night but if it's only the first few…
  • I keep a glass by the bed and if I wake up I drink some. If I sleep through I don't worry about it but drink a glass when I first get up. What you drink rehydrates all of your cells which are made of primarily of water and excess is pee'd out. I wear contacts and the first place that I feel a lack of water is in my eyes if…
  • The original topic here was not hiring obese people- not insurance policies. That's the problem. If you say that you will not hire anyone who will raise your insurance rates, you'll knock out most of the population. You would hire only young males of normal height and weight with no history of health issues and no bad…
  • Let us know how it works! I hit a plateau a few weeks ago and it was rough. I'd love to know if you break through it with your plan. good luck!!
  • Obesity does not necessarily mean unhealthy. I am obese but seldom EVER go to the Dr. I have normal blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. I am trying to lose weight to keep it that way. I have a friend who weighs 135 pounds soaking wet, she is extremely active and is very unhealthy. Her cholesterol numbers are…
  • Don't exercise within 4 hours of going to bed. Sometimes that helps. Melatonin is a good idea, so is warm milk. Good luck!!
  • We have the Wii Fit, I haven't tried it yet but my 14 year old son lost 20 pounds last school year doing it. He loves it! I want to eventually get to it but right now I'm enjoying walking too much to stop.
  • Be sure to drink plenty of water, watch the sodium, and hang in there. Sometimes it just takes a while for your body to react. How about your clothes? Are they feeling looser?
  • If you look up a diabetic diet online- like through the Lilly (the makers of insulin) you can find lot's of ideas that are well balanced. Also Pyramid.com is a really good sight. A basic rule of thumb is to split your plate into quarters. One quarter should be meat, one quarter starch, the other half green veggies. Also…
  • 2 months and 26 pounds before I dedicated myself to it on a daily basis. I walk. This fits my schedule and my pocket book best. Walking is always good for you. Good luck!! Glad you found something you like.
  • If you follow this, get your kidney function checked by a Dr. often. Too much protein cannot be processed by they kidneys well and sometimes will increase kidney function and damage the kidneys beyond repair. My husband did a diet similiar to this and after about 6 months his kidneys started to suffer. As soon as the Dr.…
  • I like the Nature Valley Sweet and Salty Almond Bars- or the Cashew if you can find them!
  • Make yourself go and tell yourself you're going to work out at least 20 minutes. Chances are, you'll work out longer. The more you continue your regular schedule, the quicker you'll adjust to the new time. I have the same problem in the Spring- when we lose an hour. It takes me weeks to adjust but if I keep up everything…
  • How long have you been working on it? When did you weigh- morning, evening, etc.? What were you wearing? How much sodium have you taken in in the last 2-3 days? (sodium hides well in soups, processed meats and other foods, canned foods, sodas) And are you anywhere near time for your cycle. Lot's of things play in. If this…
  • I have lowfat vanilla yogurt with frozen blueberries and 1/4c granola for breakfast. I can eat it going down the road but you may want to mix is with a few ice cubes in a blender to make it a smoothy so you could drink it. And for lunch I have 1 c of frozen fruit or a piece of fresh fruit and a sandwich made with Nature's…
  • Check out the Playtex bras at JMS.com. They have a good selection, good prices, and I find that the Playtex support a bit better than most if you get the better made ones. I wear Lane Bryant bras without the underwire every day but the Playtex ones are better for motion. Good luck!
