  • Make sure you're eating a variety of foods, staying hydrated and eating enough! If I eat a bunch of junk, or don't eat enough - I'm terribly sluggish and lack energy.

  • Bad food all weekend and only managed to work out a little bit on Saturday... But, didn't gain, which is good, even if the scale did stand still. Definitely not as good as I'd like. >_< But the Mom is happy and that's important too. :)
  • Health is what's most important to me. (See my profile for why, I had the most evil of trifectas.) So the benefits that come with that (lower weight and better looking physique) are just bonuses. :) But, to err on the side of vanity. I'm at the point where it's physique. I want to get the flat stomach and that toned, fit…
  • Awesome job on your journey so far! Great perspective and motivating post. Thank you for sharing. :)
  • I've been drinking green tea for as long as I can remember. I drink it basically like water, since I've never really liked juices or soda. (Except orange juice, which I used to love, but cut out of my diet since being diagnosed diabetic.) I don't drink it in particular for weight loss, but because it's just _so healthy_…

  • I'm not liking my stretch marks, but it's nothing I can't live with. Battle scars I guess. :) I am worried about loose skin though, particularly around the midsection. :/ I do get worried about gaining the weight back, especially if I decide to have kids down the road. But, as someone already mentioned, the positive far…
  • I suppose with the way privacy is invaded and practically about to die like facts did (see - http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-talk-huppke-obit-facts-20120419,0,809470.story), I'm not surprised. Plus, being a weight-loss/heath-related forum, I'm sure there's tons of body conscious people on here just coming to…
  • 1. Politics (the system is broken, stop b*tching, man up, fix it - this isn't high school, America is flushing itself from the top down) 2. Work (I work in the gov't, see #1, tired of unqualified morons making the important decisions) 3. Reality TV and the tards involved in it (don't watch it, tired of hearing about it) 4.…
  • - start small by just thinking about moving your *kitten* more. park far away and walk from your car, take the stairs instead of the elevator/escalator, carry a basket around instead of using a cart, do what you'd normally do sitting (watching tv, talking on the phone, snacking, etc) standing and moving around instead,…
  • Depends on mood and time of year: Unsweetened Passion Iced Tea Tall Skinny Hazelnut Latte (iced or hot) Iced Coffee Black (sometimes with a pump of sugar free flavor something) Skim unsweetened vanilla roobios tea (hot only) I tend to only hit the SB twice a month though. It's just cheaper making stuff at home. :) Former…
  • 33 Femme 5'1" 123 size 2-6 (depending on brand, cut/fit, and my mental health ;) I think most of my pants are 4) I lack junk in the trunk... >_>
  • You can add me too if you want. ^_^
  • I have this same issue. I notice though, that when I run, I don't get physically tired (my legs are really strong), I just get really out of breath. I feel like if I could just get enough oxygen in, then I'd be able to run longer. (Of course, maybe I'm off base.) So I did a little research on proper breathing while running…
  • I find pale, porcelain complexions to be really attractive. Well, scratch that, I feel just really healthy skin in general (no matter the color) is sexy. ^_^ You know the kind, naturally glowing, not dry, screams "healthy!" :D I vote no tan, not worth the damage to your skin and it can prematurely age you. (I know, unfair…
  • I love my fitbit as well. :) I get slightly obsessed with seeing how many steps I've walked or the distance I've traveled. It really appeals to the geek in me. It also wakes you up when you see how sedentary you actually are. Definitely got me wanting to get my butt moving more. While I keep it on while I work out, I use…
  • I understand your concerns, it's very easy to be an unhealthy veggie or vegan. (Much of this is probably already repeated, apologies. :)) - relying heavily on unrefined/processed carbs + try sticking to unrefined whole grains, ancient grains (quinoa, farro, amaranth, etc) are full of fiber and very filling - relying…
  • My boyfriend is six year younger than me, but no one notices the age difference, including ourselves. People always seem to think I'm younger than I am. ^_^ My unspoken "rule" was always six year younger or four years older. My parents are six years apart, and the variety of the couples I know have age gaps ranging…
  • Truth. Thanks for posting. :)
  • Coffee is my aiming fluid. I wouldn't even be able to function during a work day without it. o_o I generally have mine black. (My dad was in the Army and that's who I learned to drink coffee from, he always took his black. :)) Sometimes, when I make iced coffee, I add a splash of sugar free sweeter or a touch of maple or…

  • Mine isn't open to the public, but it's open to my MFP friends.
  • Your high HR is probably true to your assumption that you're feeling that out of shape. When I first started working out, my resting heart rate was like high 80's to mid 90's. And I would always get up to 180 to almost 190 and not yet be at my max. I was told that unless I felt dizzy, faint or had chest pains, then this…
  • HRM all the way. :) MFP, I think, are general baseline estimates.

  • I like them both. TJ's has better prices, Whole Foods is pretty pricey - but their selection is good, especially for certified organic products, which I'm trying to buy more of. I've recently discovered Mom's Organic Market. I like to classify Mom's as WF without the pretension. :) I believe they're only in MD and NoVA…
  • Thanks. I figured it might be a no brainer. :) Was just making sure since technically, both the watch and the machine are linked to me. (Versus just using the machine cold without the linked HRM.)
  • Fage (0% for me) all the way! Chobani is my second favorite though. My favorite combination is usually with fresh fruit (lately blueberries, but soon strawberries since they're in season), a touch of maple; honey; or agave syrup, and a tiny bit of crumbled biscotti for crunch. (I've even tried it with a dash of vanilla…
  • Two crab wontons from Pei Wei... Totally unnecessary... >_<
  • I log damn near everything. Even if I just take a bite of something that someone wanted me to try. Like today I added .1 of curry potatoes and .1 of channa masala because two co-workers wanted me to try a bite of homemade experiments. :)

  • I didn't prepare, it was a rude awakening. One day, I saw a picture of myself (at my heaviest 164, which is a lot for a 5'1" frame) and thought, "Wow. What's happening to me." I'd always been in denial about my weight and afterwards about the health problems I was being diagnosed with and the cocktail of meds I was being…
