Gained just under 1lb. (I told myself I wouldn't log at all yesterday.) I didn't funnel sweets like I thought I would. Just ate a ton of refined white carbs...rice, bread, potatoes...since I gave that up for lent. No sodium overload, since I don't do meat - I had oven baked tilapia instead. ^_^ Maybe that helped me not…

I agree. Personally, I love cooking. So I am probably biased. But cooking is only over-complicated if you choose to make it that way. (And sometimes I do. I make complicated ridiculous meals for special occasions, dinner parties or just to challenge myself.) But it can be easy as hell also. You can make an omelet in a cup…

Most anything grilled should be good. I only eat seafood if I do meat - so I do some kind of fish or shrimp taco, or the vegetarian fajitas, that way I control the amount of tortilla's I chomp on. :) I also go very light on cheese. No sour cream, I have some guac instead. No refried beans, I get the black beans and I don't…

Personally. I only count water as water. Just a preference. Coffee has negligible calories for me because I drink it black 95% of the time and tea typically has 0 cals for me because I prefer to drink unsweetened - but I still log them individually. If I drank vitamin water zero or something, I still log that too and don't…

I may be odd, but I love canned salmon. (But I love salmon in general.) Salmon croquettes, salmon cakes. I've scrambled it with egg whites for super protein goodness. Mixed it with citrus, greek yogurt, chopped crunchy veggies for a dip... Used it in place of tuna in tuna melts... Yum!

Hi Nora! Feel free to add me if you like. I feel you from similar beginnings: 50+ lbs to lose, used to smoke, drank like a fish (more of a hard liquor kind of gal back when), ate all kinds of junk and ate out all the time, hardly moved a muscle if I didn't have to...etc. You can check out my profile to learn more. (Getting…

This sums it up for me. (Also, I want your back muscles.)

Would kick my *kitten* in a fight? ^_^

I'm 5'1". 6.5lbs away from my goal. Feel free to add me if you want. I try to stay active and motivating - the holidays have me online less atm though. ^_^;;;

When I first started losing weight, I didn't calorie count - but basically cut out snacking and subtracted about a 1/4 from my food portions, then eventually cut them in half. I maybe started calorie counting a half a year or a year into my weight loss after I started working out regularly, at that point I started by…

I only log a gains if it's progressive through out a span of two weeks minimum. Trending as an actual gain, vs temporary gains from water retention, muscle repair recovery, one bad food day - etc. Usually my gains disappear after a week and results in either a loss or maintenance.

Hahaha. I feel you. Since I started cooking more to keep from eating out and eating junk... I have discovered that I LOVE cooking and apparently have a special talent for baking, candy and treats... >_< But. I've discovered that I can indulge in moderation and it's okay...and since I know exactly what's going in everything…

^ Me too. :D Congrats on your NSV!

bump for later reading. ^_^

I'm set to 1300, but usually stay around 1200. Feel free to add me if so inclined. :)

Lost over 50lbs so far...by the time I'm done, I'll have lost almost 60. (Hopefully.) Probably not considered "a lot"...but feel free to add me if my profile speaks to you. As far as changes go, my problems were mostly with portion control - my portions were HUGE, and that I was about as active as a pet rock most of the…

Pewter Kale Chips? o_o

Reminds me of black bean brownies. :D Bump for later!

<--- My new profile pic that I took this morning. ^_^ Size 4 jeans that are too big now, plus a fitted shirt, _tucked in_ AND _wearing a belt_. Old me never would've been able to wear this and feel comfortable. :D So definitely an NSV for me.

Hi Sue. First, congratulations on coming face to face with your demons and deciding to take them down. Super awesome! It's the first step to a journey that is well worth the hard work. There are similarities between your story and mine, though when I started, I was just at the borderline obese spectrum for my frame. I was…

I don't think this is rude at all. I've done this before, for similar and a number of reasons. If it's a large group of people, I order an unsweetened iced tea. If it's a small gathering, I order water and a small side salad, soup, or a very light appetizer and have them bring it as my meal - I then pick at it all night or…

Definitely personality! Sure, if you're hawt, that's great. But if you have the personality of a fruit fly, I immediately lose interest. ^_^

I want to eat biscoff spread from the jar by the spoonful, but now I have too much self-control... >_< (OMG, do I want to destroy that jar!)

I usually do the following combos (per day): chest/biceps legs back/shoulders/triceps abs

In the beginning, it was a game to me. It was interesting seeing what and how much I was eating and enlightening to see how it affected my health and weight, etc. Now, because of all the things I've learned from logging - typical calories in certain foods, the true size of package serving sizes, the types of nutrients…

Bump for future reading. I've upped from 1200 to 1300 - but still rarely net that (with continued high energy levels and feel good vibes). (Consistently losing, at about .5lbs every week or every two weeks, but only 7lbs left.) But still considering increasing cals to speed up lean muscle building.

Some days I do, but mostly I don't. If I have any special treats I want to make room for, or if I know I'm going to be at a certain restaurant or attending an event - then I pre-log to make sure I'm aware of my calorie margins and to try to plan what to order or eat out. This keeps me from straying from my calorie goal, or…
