I would just like to pipe in on behalf of BeahStar, since I'm her sister (HI SISSY!) and I know all about her struggles. She has already started working out a few days a week at the gym and working with a personal trainer a couple times a week. She has already lost like 15 pounds and since she is 6 feet tall (this is a…

Now by the end of the day they will look all baggy and frumpy. I hate it but I also somehow love it!

That is a great feeling! I was there just a few weeks ago and hopefully in another week or so I can say goodbye to the 190's as well. It feels so good to be making a positive change!
-
I would count it. I am no expert, though.

The dress thing is great, but the cholesterol thing is really what it's about. Good for you! Here's the the longer life you just earned yourself. :drinker: More time to spend with the fabulous dress!

You will love those skinny clothes! I am to the point now where I need to buy new items every week or two to replace all the stuff that is simply too big to wear. It is getting expensive but it is exciting EVERY TIME. I love shopping these days. Too bad I don't have the money for it. Oh well.

From my highest ever recorded (242) to now (193) I am down by 20%. Since I put myself on a serious fitness mission (@ 227) I have lost about 15%. From a size 18/20 at Lane Bryant down to a 12/14 at a regular department store. Whee!

I am checking in today at 194 for a 1 lb loss.

I am the same way. It comes off my waist first. That is completely fine with me because I know how many people out there have stubborn belly fat that just won't go away so I shouldn't complain. Personally, I start to look almost ridiculous with this tiny waist and huge hips/thighs/arms before the rest of it starts to melt…

This might be completely unfounded, but I worry about my skin not tightening up enough if I lose weight too fast. Also, I wonder if I am losing too high a proportion of muscle mass when I lose fast. Since I have 3 jobs and often can only get to the gym 0-3 times per week, it is hard to stave this off with extra strength…

Just out of curiousity, how tall are you? I must say that 177 looks great on your frame!

Oh, don't worry, I take it with a HUGE grain of salt. My husband and I are the best example ever of how silly it is to only use 2 factors (height and weight) in estimating health. We are both 5' 8" and in the 190's, so we have a similar BMI. Funny thing is that he is a personal trainer and bodybuilder, the picture of…

I am checking in at 195 this week, for a loss of 5 pounds. It's mostly period and margarita bloat, but still!

I read in one of the fitness mags that your weight actually goes up MORE right after a healthy meal that it does after a crappy meal, since the healthy meal has more fiber and water content and is more likely to have a high weight while still having low calories. A burger and fries weight less than a bowl of soup and a…

I am not a doctor but I do deal with pregnancy and conception issues in my professional life and I am quite sure that it is impossible to have pregnancy symptoms the morning after the sperm is introduced to the body. Sperm and eggs are tiny and they just don't move that fast. The time from the sex act to the beginning of…

I feel like the calorie count for the elliptical machine is too high on MFP and on the machine itself. I feel like there is no way that thing burns more calories than jogging or the stair-mill machine. It just feels like so much less work!

I finished my 100 oz. Now I am having a diet coke, then i'll drink one liter more.
-
66 oz so far!

I have no idea how you could have the energy to work out after a graveyard shift (I am on one myself as we speak!). I only do this occasionally but it used to be my regular gig and all I can do after an overnight shift is fall into bed. I have no idea whether that morning workout would be good for you or not, just…

Just checking in (sorry it is late). On wednesday in was at 199 for a week of zero loss.

As far as getting an IUD when you have never given birth, a lot of doctors won't do it but plenty of them will. If you decide that an IUD is what you want and you don't want to mess with being obstructed by certain doctors, try getting it from Planned Parenthood. They are big on trusting womens' decision making abilities…

I finished my 100 oz goal and planning to nurse one more liter for the rest of the day. Off to the gym now to sweat some of that out!
-
You are not alone Jstar! I think others are too scared to speak up because you are the water drinking champion ofthe world and the rest of us will never catch up! Anyway, I am at 80 oz so far.
-
10 am - 40 oz

My goal is 100 oz for the day. 16 oz done so far.

I lost 7 pounds the first week then .5-2 every week after that. That first week is mostly water weight and it will slow down on its own pretty quick. Sounds like what you are doing is working so I would keep it up if I were you.
-
I don't know about how it affects weight loss generally, but I know that for me, my waist shrinks down a lot overnight if I have not eaten anything (except maybe a little fruit if I'm starving) for a good 3 hours before bed. Maybe I don't lose more pounds per week, but it sure helps my morale to wake up and see a narrower…

What a coincidence, I reached this milestone today too! What a great feeling!

I would say you can count unsweetened tea as long as you didn't leave ice in the glass because then it wouldn't have really been 16 oz. As for me, I have 68 oz down and 32 more to go.
