You won't really know how it will be until you get to know this Jim person better. Right now, you're just going on the impression that your friend has built of him. You know what is best for you. Also, in my experience, losing weight and dating are difficult to do together. You're already trying to lose weight, which is a…

And don't forget the sodium...I always have to watch how much sodium is in one serving. When I forget, my hands can swell up to more sausage like than they already are. There are so many that laud the benefits of spinach, and I so want to like spinach but...ugh. Just can't!

Feel free to add me :) I'm on here everyday and can use another friend for encouragement and support, both given and received :D

You look great! You probably feel fabulous too :) Congratulations on the hard work; very inspirational.

Sign me up! January 1st?

I love that!

Hey Alex - congratulations! You've made the first step... We are all on this journey and it's going to be tough, but so worth it.

Yes, we CAN do this! I have 18lbs to lose, so time to not give up and hit the cardio. Wow, John that is amazing - I hope we can all help each other out to get to our goals.

Bad carbs (you know, white bread, pasta, rice); baked goods, chocolate and cheese. I don't deprive myself, but have cut down when I can.

I actually just invested in a pedal exerciser. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Carex-Pedal-Exerciser/6537516 My husband has very bad knees, so it's difficult (with his weight as well) to walk far or do most any other cardio. I did some researching online, and physical trainers working with very obese who have mobility issues use…

I completed 50 minutes of cardio yesterday! Big step for me.

I'm friending you so we can encourage and support each other. I'm trying to lose 100+lbs and recently had a set back. The good thing about this whole process, is that we can come back to it again when we do have these set backs. I was thinking the other day, it's funny how when a person tries to quit smoking (been there,…

I too have the issues with eating what's on my plate and not wanting to waste food. And yes, it was how I was raised. I was always told, you have to clean your plate or you don't get to _____. (get dessert, watch tv, play outside etc.) It's a HORRIBLE mindset to teach children :(

I have a terrible love affair with cheese. And carbs. I'm trying to put my protein back up and have been looking at vegetarian chilli and soup recipes (now that the weather is cooler). Trying hard not to restrict myself too much - just moderation. The other night I had a cup of vanilla bean ice cream because I had plenty…

For me, it's not the cold so much as the gloomy, overcast skies. If it's sunny, I'm still energized. But, I do become more active in the colder months because it's easier to warm up than it is to cool down. I dislike summer so much - the heat really gets to me. Maybe that will change as I lose more weight. During these…

I think the key word is always "moderation" when it comes to a healthy diet. We use splenda for most things instead of sugar, because my husband is a diabetic, but other than that we haven't cut out much of anything.

I need an accountability partner, since my husband is pretty useless :/

It feels like I'm being fetishized when guys insist on making that known. To me, it's no difference if someone says they like dating a particular race or religion or eye colour.

How are your iron levels? When was the last time you saw your doctor and had bloodwork? You should mention this to your doctor and have him/her test your iron levels and your B12 levels to ensure that you aren't deficient. (You'd be surprised how easy your body can be deficient in these particular areas). Good luck :)

Usually a week before my TOM I have those days. And then when TOM comes around, I don't want to eat much of anything.

7 years with panic/anxiety. Been Agoraphobic for over a year now - pretty much a shut in except for doctor/therapy appointments. Lost my job. I'm on or have been on every kind of drug you can think of for panic/anxiety. I'm hoping with weight loss, my condition will ease.

Poutine! With extra gravy and cheese curds. *drooling noise*

I would never wear one. Just more surface area for my Scots-Irish-Canadian skin to burn. I have a tank-ini I would love to fit into one day, but I love those classic one pieces from the 1950's. That's more my personal style.

I've been finding that most commercially produced salad dressings are so high in sodium, which is something I have to watch because of my blood pressure. I'm going to start using my own homemade dressing and some recipes in this thread sound really good!

I wasn't on Zoloft long enough for me to notice any weight gain as it made me very suicidal. That's just me - every one is different so I'm not knocking the medication. If you feel that the medication is no longer being beneficial to you, or that your depression/anxiety is getting worse it's time to talk to the doctor.…

Awesome visual and congratulations!

I definitely see a difference! I know it's difficult to tell because you see yourself every day, but it's there in your face already. Through your cheekbones and forehead and some in your chin. It's working! Keep at it :) I'm going to add you if that's ok?
