  • Hi all, thanks for starting this group! I'll be happy with 10 lbs-- It's a slow process for me. I plan on tracking every day, drinking lots of water, and alternating weight lifting M, W and F with 3x cardio a week. Glad for the company- I've been doing MPF solo but it's time for some support and company so thanks again…
  • GREAT change of mindset, Manic! (T.S. Eliot: ..."we who are only undefeated / because we have gone on trying". Way to go!
  • Wow, I've never heard of colostrum before as a supplement. How did you come to try this? Thanks for the tip.
  • Sorry to hear about the injuries! So... nearly finished Stage 1... I love NROL4W! I have 3 more workouts to go. I can now do 70lbs lat pulldown and do lunges holding 15lb weights... this is progress... and I'm seeing my core muscles get more strength and definition. Still can only shoulder press 15lb weights (2 dumbells of…
  • Thanks for that tip! I'll try laying off the red meats.
  • I do make sure I get 30 g. a day of fiber. Do you take more than that?
  • All kinds-- meat, egg protein powder (avoiding wheat and dairy), eggs, nuts, beans. And thanks for the digestive enzyme tip, will look into that. Still very keen to hear from anyone who has had this same problem and solved it. I take psyillium in water, and sometimes chia seeds in water too.
  • These ideas sound great! You sound really well prepared. Good luck--sounds like you will do well.
  • I know! :) Protein does that... I've found I need to include lots of veggies and also beans/ lentils in my diet and drink LOTS of water. Protein absorbs water so you need more than you've been drinking if you up the protein.
  • Hi there-- I'm doing the New Rules of Lifting for Women workout so I strength train 2-3 x week and also do intervals. I'm 52 and 5'4 and weigh 140lbs. My approach is to eat back my calories (which means I eat 1600--1800 a day) and if I feel tired, to rest --take a day off. I try to get to 100g protein a day, a shake helps,…
  • Thanks Beeps! Well... I'm not getting all the way down to the floor, and need to check my elbows (having read the other posts) but it's an improvement. Feeling very tired today and after a gentle yoga class, am just planning to rest. I was going like a train, alternating weights days with aerobics days and sometimes doing…
  • That rocks! Congratulations!
  • Four weeks in to NROL4W and I'm really seeing some changes. The scale hasn't budged much (but I've only been tracking food for 2 weeks). I can see my abs more defined now, my belly is flatter, and I definitely see improved shape and muscle in my arms. Also can lift higher weights and that feels great. I can now do 10…
  • Hi all, joining late but I'll jump in! My goal for the end of June (8 weeks) is to lose 5 lbs (reach 135 or 6). My final goal is to lose 10lbs and maintain for at least six months at the new weight of 130lbs. If I can get halfway there by end June and have awesome abs I'll be very pleased with progress! To do this I will:…
  • Hi Beep! What's the 10 week challenge? (I hope I've got the quote/ reply thing right this time). And thanks for the welcome.
  • Sorry everyone, I'm trying to reply to places that have replied to me but my replies are appearing in the general thread, which is why they're not making much sense. A beginner at this message board business!
  • Good idea to get a ball... But I'm moving cities in a few weeks so may wait til things get settled and I join a new gym, hopefully with balls!
  • Thanks for the welcome! I'm excited to be here.
  • HI all, I'm new-ish here.. On my 5th and 6th workout A & B, I guess about 3 weeks in? I love NROL4W. I'm getting stronger and now that I'm doing 3 sets instead of 2, I'm feeling it! Things I've noticed: Muscles gaining definition and belly getting flatter. Goal is to lose 10lbs fat and gain muscle and fitness. I am doing…
  • Hello everyone! I've been doing NRL4W for a few weeks now, a bit spottily with travel (took one week off). I really enjoy it. I've done weights before, and like the results. I just started on myfitnesspal and am so glad to find the support etc. I'm 52, and want to lose the extra 10lbs that midlife has found on my middle!…
