Because junk is what sells. If people are so weak willed that they fall prey to advertising and can't manage moderation, then they deserve the early grave that is coming to them.

A diet of pure fruit and vegetables would probably be worse for you than pure McD's, tacos and pizza.

A point I'd like to make briefly, reading back on the posts is that I mistakenly said "0.8g per lb of LEAN MASS". This was said in error; I've always calculated using total body weight. Because protein is the most expensive macronutrient, for one. Admittedly there's no harm in ingesting more as I have previously stated.…

"Dr Peter Lemon, stated in a recent review paper that, 'the RDA for those engaged in strength training should be about 1.7 - 1.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body mass per day'". I never disputed that it wasn't for total body weight. If you were calculating it using lean body mass, then the protein intake would be even…

Because perfume is based on taste and opinion, whereas health and fitness has science and experienced attached to it. It gets quite annoying when you see someone who clearly has no idea what they're talking about spouting some hearsay recycled garbage advice to a newbie. Basically, if you're a moron, expect to get called…

Strong this. However, the work of Keyes who established a link between sat fats and coronary disease has been largely discredited. That said, it's all about balance; I eat about 150+ grams of fat per day, a combination of sat fats and "healthy fats".

1.4 grams per KILOGRAM of bodyweight.. 1KG = 2.2 lbs. So that would suggest the max necessary level is 0.63g of protein per lb of muscle mass. Even less than I stated. Note that the group who ingested 2.4g/KG of bodyweight (1.09g/lb) experienced no greater benefit. Also, Dr. Lemon's suggestion of 1.7-1.8g per KG is roughly…

What about in the instance of "noob gains"?

Why would there be any issue with consuming fats as long as you're within your caloric goal? In fact, a high fat/low carb diet may even be more effective..

You sound frigid.. Reject

This x9999 Don't rely on prepackaged meal plan crap.

Actually, that's a common misconception. The MAXIMUM amount per lb proven to yield benefits is 0.8g/lb of lean mass.. And we're talking about strength athletes here. Admittedly drug enhanced bodybuilders eat more, however. The only conceivable benefit to eating that much protein is the fact that protein has a higher TEF…

Obviously.. Calories are calories, and if you're trying to lose weight you need to he expending more energy than you are consuming. Why would the caloric energy from a supplement not be counted?

3 hours is plenty long enough.. You can cause indigestion exercising right after but 2-3 hours is fine. I personally train on an empty stomach as I still do intermittent fasting. Doesn't make much difference either way but some people I know have no energy to train unless they've eaten before.

The point of any weight loss diet is obviously to lose weight.. Achieved by remaining in a caloric deficit. The beauty of IF is that by fasting you increase your Grehlin sensitivity, which regulates appetite and metabolism. Also more alertness through the day due to not digesting. As long as you're in a caloric deficit it…
