  • being OLD..(68) :) I have to watch everything I eat..I have a very slow metabolism...and I have to because I didn't watch what I was eating for a very long time and have a bunch to lose. The ONLY diet that works for me is low carb. I have tried them all and Low carb is the only one that I can stick to without being hungry…
  • This discussion certainly helped me, I appreciate the explanation. :)
  • I am willing to bet you know the answer...how badly do you want to lose weight? I am a sugar/choco-holic myself. I found that I had to sacrifice. I still crave but I want to be thin more. So I allow myself ONE treat a day. A reward at the end for me. I drink coffee but it is with splenda. I much rather have it "my way" but…
  • I carry whey protein powder with me  and add it to sparkling water (33g). It is a low calorie quick fix that also takes away hunger. Then there is the usual cheese stick or hard boiled egg. Hope that helps! ;-)
  • I am not setting myself up as any type of expert, but it has been my experience I am hungry all the time when I have too many carbs/sugar. So I eat protein. Eggs are cheap. One egg can hold me for hours. What type of diet are you doing? You might want to check to see if something you are eating is giving you too much of a…
  • I like herbalife. I know of people who have really lost weight using it. I am currently using it when I get sick of eating eggs, cheese and meat. ( I am doing Low Carb). My problem is it is too high in carbs for any rapid weight loss for ME. I think if you are young and or your metabolism is higher than mine..use it. The…
  • Hi, first off, there are many ways to lose. You have to decide which way you want to go. This site helps you to see how many calories you are eating. Staying within your calorie allotment, and posting everything you eat is a first! I prefer the low carb approach myself. Others will disagree with me but the proof is in my…
  • My gift to ME is NOT to over eat or lose my head. I lost weight over Thanksgiving. I intend to do the same on Christmas. I have spent my whole life finding one excuse after another to eat what I wanted. I am not sa ying it is not hard. But now my "treats" are occassional instead of constant. I have found that I have no…
  • :flowerforyou: Congrats on counting your calories. It is a real eye opener, isn't it? I unfortunately am a "sugar-holic", I have had to ban sugar and carbs on a regular basis. This seems to be the only way I can lose any weight. I found that when I just say "NO" to the sugar and carbs I can then OCCASIONALY have a bite…
  • I am sure you are tired of hearing this (maybe not ha) but you are an inspiration! Did you go on any particular diet or did you just count calories? I have just begun and need to lose a "ton". Hey, that rhymes! Thanks for sharing your journey. Blessings to you, lanadee
  • Colleen, I am sorry you are upset but honestly I don't know of ANY diet that would allow me to eat over 3,000 calories. The fact that you lost proves you have self control :-). I guess I would suggest having a good laugh and brush it off. I am sure you are going to do a fantastic job. Blessings lanadee
