  • A couple of HRMs I own have ability to change fitness level, current weight, etc. Have you adjusted yours to your current stats? I also cross reference the readings off HRM with online cals calculator and use avg on MFP.
  • Could be a battery in the chest strap...or you are getting fitter :) Possible both...
  • +1 on getting a HRM, but roughly most resistance routines in P90X would burn around 350 - 550 cals, cardio - 400 - 700+ This is a VERY rough estimate, as everyone burns differently... Good luck!
  • I would also recommend checking out ChaLean Extreme program...for this exact purpose of becoming very strong :)
  • Good for you! Ladies should not be afraid of moving heavier weights in P90X... Some moves are better for most with 15 - 20 pounders IMO... Good luck!
  • You could tweak your protein/carbs/fat ratio/goals in favor of protein (such as 50/30/20 or so)...
  • Or don't take the weekend off from P90X...:) I travel with my laptop and most of the time can squeeze workouts in most of my days on the road :) If laptop is not an option, you can workout off of P90X workout sheets for most of the resistance routines using bands instead of weights. :)
  • You can buy it from TeamBeachBody site: http://www.teambeachbody.com/workout-routines/one-on-one-workout It's $19.95 or something like that. Ideally, I would recommend using YogaX, but in the interest of time sometimes there is no option for a 90-minute workout...
  • Awesome to see so many Xers on MFP! Good luck to all of you! For those who are looking for a shorter Yoga routine I would highly recommend Tony's One on One Fountain of Youth yoga (separate 45-minute DVD, some might have it as a bonus in their P90X DVD set depending on when they bought the program). Keep Pushing Play!
  • Like others said, would not recommend two resistance routines in one day... You can push your round to 91 days, just continue with the schedule and catch up after.
  • Good luck bringing it with P90X!
  • You burn "goo" and replace it with clean fuel that is needed for your body to perform at its pick during workouts. Good luck!
  • A) Still an estimate, but an educated one... :)
  • Looks good! I'm pre-ordering it tomorrow... Bring IT x 2!
  • I use almond milk where I used to use dairy milk. Almonds and avocado are also a source of "good" fat. Good luck!
  • I prefer Almond Breeze Unsweetened almond milk or the same by Trader Joe's. Egg whites, actually, any brand as long as it's 100% egg product, but on occasion I do go for egg beaters for the taste :)
  • On my 4th round of Beach Body program. Did Power 90, P90X Lean and Classic, and now on the final phase of P90X/Insanity hybrid. Hit me with a friend request if you would like support, etc. Bring it! :)
  • Not a sales pitch... I love my daily breakfast doze of Choc Shakeology with vanilla almond milk and strawberries. Can be blended in the early morn and "re-shaken" in a hand shaker at the breakfast time. Good luck!
  • Power 90 is pretty effective (when combined with recommended diet), but a bit dated at this point... Don't have any knowledge of 30 day shred though... Good luck!
  • IMO P90X can be effective for anyone, but honestly, you would have to modify a lot if you are not in some sort of a shape... I would recommend going through another Beach Body program to get in a relatively decent shape before jumping into P90X full steam. Power 90, for example, while it's somewhat dated, the fitness level…
  • I think it's important to understand the difference between protein drinks and recovery drinks... I would recommend reading some materials on the subject to educate yourself (like such): http://www.spma.net/recoverydrinksfin.htm Good luck!
  • Good luck bringing it! :)
  • That's cool, but having martial arts background I can't do some of the moves without thinking of how silly they are... :) Plus, I can only get a decent burn during an hour of KenpoX wearing weighted gloves... At the same time I can pickup a 38-minute Insanity cardio routine and be sitting in the pool of my sweat by the end…

  • It depends... I would recommend wearing heart rate monitor for accurate cals burned estimates. I've seen anywhere from 300 to 1000 cals. Yoga is an essential part of X IMO, so I would not recommend replacing it with anything other than another yoga routine :) On the other hand I don't particularly care for KenpoX, burn…

  • I like their organic frozen brown rice, lean ground turkey (can make some mean taco meat :) ), some of the salads (although they dropped out of "lineup" my absolute fav Spa salad a few months ago), prepackaged "hand full of" unsalted roasted almonds. I actually try to stay away from ham, but buy a considerable amount of…
  • Asics gel kayano... Went through a few models and pretty happy with them.
  • Google P90X/Insanity hybrid... there are many different hybrids ppl designed out of these programs. I'm starting a new round in 10 days and it will be P90X/Insanity hybrid. Good luck!
  • Stick with it and you will love the results! Bring it and good luck! :)

  • The best way to track burned cals during your P90X workouts is with heart rate monitor. If you don't have one, aprox avg number of calories burned during most P90X workouts is estimated to be about 600 in the program guide... Millage may vary... :) Good luck!

  • I would consider the reasons (or the main reason, as there is always that one thing that makes you move) you started the P90X program in the first place. Let's not even talk about benefits of yoga, etc., but think about benefits of pushing through of what seems uncomfortable, but is a part of the program you decided to do…
