Great that you are getting healthy! Try making friends with people at the gym, or other people who have the same values as you do. It is true that we are influenced by our peers - but it is your job to find people who influence you in positive ways. That is not easy, I know, but it is easier than trying to make healthy…

Wonderful results for your very hard work!

Great NSV. It will remind you of how hard you have worked and the success you have earned. Wishing you continued success!

Don't read too much into it. Stupid comment from them! Maybe an answer like, "Are you asking me if it is normal for you to feel angry all the time? No it isn't normal. I'd advise you get some professional help. Have a nice day!"

Well done! Be proud of your hard work and results. I think it is time for you to change your MFP name. Maybe go with "Former Phatycake", or something else that is positive and reflects your accomplishments. Way to go you!!!

Good for you! You look amazing. Exercise and healthy eating = a wonderful example for your children. Wishing you continued health and happiness.

What about if you just thank them and focus on your health or how you feel? Then change the subject. Something like, "Thanks. I'm getting healthier.", "Thanks. I'm feeling better.", or "Thanks. I'm enjoying (fill in your favourite activity or exercise here)." Then add a comment about something unrelated, "Did you see the…

I'm 5 ft 4 in in very thick socks. I'm also 56 years old, so dealing with a slowing metabolism. I have a very small frame with size 5.5 or 6 shoes and a 5 inch wrist. I joined MFP at about 136 pounds with a goal of 120. I'm currently at 125.5 My advise is to use clothes as a measure, not the scale. Your relationship with…

Give yourself a break!!! My goodness, you have a lot to think about and a lot to do. I have never had your present worries, but we all have our issues. What works for me when stressed? Walking, doing something with my hands like knitting, going outside as much as possible and reading aloud to the kids. When I need to eat -…

You are not nasty. You are not an old bag either! This would tick me off too! What can you do? 1) Take advantage of the time he is gone to eat the healthy foods you want and begin an exercise program. 2) Plan to have some 'you' time and 'couple' time when he returns. Take care of yourself!

Your achievement is amazing!!! What a good example you are to your kids! (and to the rest of us, too) Congrats and thanks for the inspiration.

I do this too! I often have a glass of wine early in the evening, then drink diet coke the rest of the night. Some bars will give the designated driver free soft drinks! (soda pop)

Rock Star !!! Way to Go.

Excellent NSV !!! Way to Go. I keep a pair of jeans in a drawer that I try on every Monday. I have been doing this since the spring! It is the best way to measure progress... Not the scale! Congrats and stick with it. Won''t it be exciting when those jeans are too big?

They are great, but earlier posters are correct. You must get your form right. YouTube has some good training videos on erg use. Maybe a supervisor at your gym knows how to use them and can give you an instruction session or two. I row (on water, in an 8) and use rowing machines at the boathouse if weather is too poor to…
