Echoing what has been said, he has good weight loss record, and if he continues, he will continue to lose weight. Full stop. He needs to continue for months on end, not a few weeks. Reinforce the thought that this is a long-term change that will have great payoffs, not a short-term burst of weight loss then maintain. Like…

Sent you a friend request... I am in the same boat, I've gained 35lbs in 2 years, in 2006 I was 145lbs and fit, at my worst two weeks ago I hit 210. I'm on my 4th or 5th attempt at losing weight, so lets motivate each other!!

Yup, rolling my eyes before I got more than a paragraph in... It's nice for a member to want to contribute, but really, read 10x more than you write and you'll be far wiser.

Every morning. That way I have lots of data in MFP, and I can see the trend, instead of having an off-day once a week and thinking I made no progress... this way I can see daily flucuations which is kind of cool to me. I stand on the scale praying for it to say less than last time, if it does, I'm really happy, if it…

My coworker 'got you a treat' on the phone, and showed up with a mcdouble & a junior chicken...Very nice gesture, but what he didn't know is that I already had my lunch allotment, and I would be eating my dinner at 1pm! Oh well, ate them anyway :(

Another one for Cereal. Once I measured out how big a serving is, I was blown away... I've been eating 5-10 servings of cereal!!

I have horrendous self-control when it comes to food, feel free to add me too! I think I'm actually going to do it this time!

My wife is due in a few weeks and she's worried about what she'll have to lose.. How much did you gain during pregnancy, compared to how much was left to lose after? She weighed 115-120 before, and yesterday she was 155. 5'1" tall. Feel free to add me!

Amazingly, I saw 204.5 on the scale this morning, haven't been that low since... well.. a long time ago. That was motivation for me to continue eating healthy and minimal today, looking forward to seeing the scale again. If I don't overeat and overdrink, I won't gain... theoretically :)

I'm in the same boat... I am horrendous at sticking to my goals because I am so impatient. If I don't see losing within a week I seem to just give up.. I'm going to try a crash diet for 30 days, eating only healthy things, and NOT going over my calorie goals. As well as trying to go for a decent sized walk with the dog…

I had a serious 'episode' last summer and was admitted to the psych ward for a total of 11 days... Turns out I have bi-polar of the high-only, where I am either normal, or I am hypomanic. They've put me on Seroquyl and one other that I can't remember (I only remember the generic brand, divalproex and quentenapine) in a…

Yup.. That's why alcoholic calories (beer for me) are the worst.. you ingest, the calories get filtered INTO your body, and the rest gets peed out. Beer is the single biggest reason I haven't been able to lose weight :(

Well since I was over by ~900 cals yesterday, I just went to the Gym for the second time today, so counting a 500 cal defecit in food plus gained 400cals from exercise, I count these two days as a wash :) I think this Gym membership is going to do a lot of good!!!

I entered all the stuff that I conveniently 'forgot', and realize that yes, over the course of the week I am definitely over my calorie goals. Time to buckle down and stop pretending that the bowl of ice-cream doesn't count :p

I actually didn't think of the reports function on MFP... So I actually didn't think to check my weekly totals. I know I'm cheating some days, I'll finish my log, then go have a beer or two, etc... not logging is bad for my progress :( I do think that because I know I was over by ~200 calories yesterday from those unlogged…

But who counts their calories throughout the week? I know I don't... at least not yet. So if I go over on monday by 300 calories, and am right at my recommended for the next 2 days, I don't think to try and have a 300 deficit... at least not until I thought of it right now :) I can't be the only one that hasn't thought…

^^^ That's what I'll end up doing. I do like to see my Fiber intake, that's my favorite.. make sure I get my fiber! Protein as well. I like to know how much sodium I'm taking in, I know I used to go well over the 2500 limit, now I'm rarely hitting 50% of it. That's one of the main ones that keeps me eating healthy WHOLE…

Now being a man, you can ignore me if you like... But as far as I've heard, to get that "washboard abs" or "6pack stomach", it requires a LOT, and I mean A FREAKING LOT, of strength training. Just dieting won't bring out this hidden 6pack. I think that might be a common misconception. Women with nice abs quite often have a…

The tip I like most for peeling is to hit them once on each end on the counter, breaking the ends, and then roll it in your hand briefly to loosen the shell.. almost falls off after that :)

Does anyone have a harder time getting the shells off them if they're stored cooked with the shell on? I always de-shell my hardboiled eggs right away.. must be habit!

Hello! I'm a new recuit to the rebellion... seems quiet in here ;)

Biggest thing my scale has taught me was how much freaking cereal I was eating!! I thought a serving was a bowlful... so I thought I was having 1.5 or 2 servings... After measuring, I think I was eating 4-6+ servings every time!! Also used it to find out my workboots are just over twice as heavy as my regular shoes... No…

Wow this took off quickly! Posted this before I went to work, now at lunchtime there are 60+ replies! Definitely a hot topic! I understand that since we are here on MFP tracking our food, we are very suited to tracking our finances as well... most people that don't track anything won't be tracking their food intake :) I…

I've been having bagels & creamcheese... I really need a better breakfast!

Ok then, less cardio more weight building!! haha!

Ok, so basically the weight I would be if I was stupidly skinny.. so ~120lbs for me... Thanks for the explanation :)

Thanks for the input! What exactly is 'lean body mass'? I weigh 180 currently.
