I'm a numbers guy so I do it every day, but I kNOW that it will flucutate up and down... I'm happy to see it not go back up as high, and overjoyed when I reach a new low.. I didn't like the once a week measuring because what if you measured on a low morning last time, and now you're measuring on a high morning? A full…

I did that, and usually failed... my 'drinking' days were often 800 + calories over I stopped drinking completely in October, and I'm finally making progress on my weight after over 2 years of trying! I know it seems crazy but if someone is having trouble losing weight but are drinking 10+ beers per week, it's an easy way…

This public accountability along with seeing it more often has been the kick in the *kitten* I needed to actually start juicing :) I've made 5 or 6 juices now since posting this thread, and am excited to make another one tomorrow. I have a market that's on the way home from work so I can easily pop in and grab some stuff.…

LOL! ^^^ After thinking about it some more, the reason I want to do it is because I know how good it makes me feel, and I knew growing up when my mom juiced it was really healthy... I think I need to LEARN to juice and then it'll be much more habit forming, currently I just bought a juicer and expected it to just juice,…

I took it out to take photos, and my wife said "but you LOVE your juicer!"... And she was right... I do love it... made juice that day and enjoyed it thoroughly! Just gotta effin use the damn thing I guess.

After failure we can find the journey to success :)

I am confident now, if I apply the same willpower I used to stop smoking (not cigs), to stop drinking (almost completely), I should be able to do this. I always gave in to fast food, overeating, no matter what.... If I had a bad meal, I wouldn't lessen the other meals to compensate. I'm a week in now, and so far so good.…

Small salad with two strips of chicken for the entire day? Was that for Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? Where is the 1200 calories? If you eat 3 meals 400 calories each, then you are at 1200... and closer to healthy. What you describe is not healthy nor sustainable. No-one can eat only a salad and two chicken strips every day.…

The main benefit of juice is being able to take in *most* of the nutrients from an amount of vegetables that could not otherwise be consumed. As well, those vitamins and nutrients are immediately put into the bloodstream, and giving your digestive system a break.

It doesn't remove all the fiber, it removes most. I am juicing in addition to other things I eat for Fiber so the loss of fiber is not a big deal :)

Great story! I also just watched the documentary of Fast Sick & Nearly Dead, and it reminded me how healthy juices are. I grew up with my Mom being super healthy, we had fruit juices every morning, and vegetable juices just before dinner. This combined with smoothies once in a while too... Now that I've been on my own for…

^ Hah! I am a beer lover and went from drinking 15+ per week easily to 6 or less per week.. and 4 of those are on one night :) Went from 10,000+ calories per month in beer to under 4000... will trim that down some more seeing that number, LOL!

I bet it's mostly all in your head... thinking hungry thoughts can make someone hungry real quick :)

I am buying a Juicer today and look forward to trying and sharing some recipes! I've sent a request to join the group :-)

Yup.. Wednesdays (Poker night) and Fridays are more than half my weekly beer intake... I cut fridays down to 2 beers, and Poker night I try to keep under 4. My Mom was warning me about alcohol because it leads to overeating, I definitely had a problem with that before I was logging, but now that I know I have to enter what…

I completely agree with the sentiment of make it fit, HOWEVER, I'm sure I'm not the only one that consistently goes over due to alcohol..

Beer has been and is continuing to be the biggest hurdle for my weight loss journey... I have cut down from probably 15 per week to closer to 8.. I can see myself lowering that a bit more, but think of it this way, when I drank 15+ beer a week that is 2400+ calories per WEEK, or over 10,000 calories per month in BEER. Even…

NEVER MIND, Expiry date was May 2014, not 2015 :) HAH I guess it was in the freezer longer than I thought!!
-
I think if it was opened and frozen or opened and thawed, yeah, it's got a short lifespan... but being factory sealed I'm confident it's good til it's expiry date.

When we buy our rice we end up putting it in a large 'rice-bin', basically just a tupperware container... so I long lost the nutritional info :( Thanks everyone! I will definitely make sure to use the correct one, glad there's both!

I'm 29 and have a 7 month old in my lap... Daddy pregnancy weight is real! Will add, anyone else can feel free to add me too!

I was admitted last year and diagnosed with Bipolar... I was off work for 4 months, on medication, and gained over 20lbs... now trying to lose that weight! NICE HAIR!!!

^^^ this! I play online poker, and it's the exact same.. The most important part is to stick with it and keep going, don't get caught up on the daily or even weekly swings, accept that they will happen and just keep going! You need MONTHS of data to see a real graph of progress.. So do a couple months and see how it's…

Harsh reality, if you are willing to give up because one week didn't go well, you need to re evaluate your weight loss dedication. Real weight loss is a long term commitment.
-
Weight changes plus or minus 2-5lbs, on a daily basis. If you can't take the swings daily don't weight daily.. Weigh weeky instead!
-
I have heavily cut down from average 2 a day with 5 or 6 Friday's, to having one every other day and 3 on Friday... It was just about the calories for me but I love not having any more hangovers :-)
-
Well I am two weeks in, and I have cut down my drinking drastically, which has helped both with weight loss and money savings... Tonight was drinking night, so I had a big lunch, and skipped dinner.. had 4 beers total for the day, and I am only over my goal by 200 calories, so still well in the deficit. SUCCESS!

When I did this last (before falling off the wagon) I set it to 1.5 pounds per week because I felt 2lbs per week was too restrictive calorie wise. I ended up losing 10lbs in 5 weeks, for a 2lb per week average! Very happy with the results... then I went camping, lost track, forgot, got complacent, and I'm back starting it…
