^RUDE! Obviously this thread is on MFP because these people ARE trying to lose the weight, DUH! If you don't have a story to add or positive words of wisdom, STFU!!!

When I got my passport picture taken I was in the process of losing weight... That was in March 2010, so when I finally used the passport (in August 2010) I was significantly smaller. One of the airline workers who checks IDs before boarding, held up my passport, looked at me, and said "Wow you lost weight, good job, you…

I'm 5'4" and my daily calorie allowance is 2040 all days--on workout days I eat back any calories burned over 395 (ex. If I burn 500 calories through exercise, then I eat back 105, making my total for that day 2145). I'm also a member of the Eat More to Weigh Less group (EM2WL).

There is a group (Called Eat More To Weigh Less) that follows this principle. It was confusing for me too, at first. But depending on your specific needs and goals, it truly IS possible to eat more to weigh less! Using myself as an example, MFP guided plan had me eating 1200 calories/day (and I did just that for about a…

We had the same concept at *almost* the exact same moment, great minds think alike, lol :D

Maybe try packing a healthy lunch for the two of you?! Then instead of meeting somewhere to go out to lunch (spending more $ than necessary and packing on the unwanted calories) you could meet at a park or coffee shop (or anywhere really) to eat your "picnic" "brown bag" HEALTHY lunch from home!! :D just a thought, hope…

New to EMTWL also, add me :)

I was going by what MFP recommended I eat, as far as the calories go. So if 1200 is too low, what would you suggest? Am I supposed to be eating between my bmr and tdee? I'm stumped and your snarky answer was not exactly encouraging or overly helpful. I'm just trying to figure things out, and was looking for help from…

We have well water where I live, and it's delicious straight out of the tap! I refuse to pay for water when it tastes great out of my faucet!!

That is such a simple answer for such a complex question. Maybe you were attempting to help, but all you've managed to do is frustrate me further! Even after "eating back" my exercise cals my NET calories consumed on any given day still leave me with a significant caloric deficit, which translates into weight loss for most…

I have used other resources to ensure my calories burned are as close to accurate as possible, believe me I don't just take MFP's word for it. As far as the food goes... I do the best I can with what I have, yes I eat packaged food, because, let's be honest, it's cheaper. I have to work within a small monthly budget to…

My tdee is 2550, and bmr is 1650, but what do I DO with those numbers? I see "eating back" my exercise cals as OK because my NET calorie intake still leaves me with a significant deficit... HELP!
-
Like I said I NEVER counted calories, so no, I was not on a low cal diet. I would eat sugary cereal or pastries for breakfast, subway or panda express for lunch, snack on fruits & veg, then eat dinner & sometimes dessert. I didn't have a goal weight even, just wanted to see what I could accomplish and the classes were…

Trust me, I drink plenty of water, upwards of 100-120 ounces some days!

Thank you all for your responses, except zap0d  I think I'll just stick to the way I've been doing it, it seems to work for me. The scientific aspects elude me, as there were people who said eat first burns fat and people who said eating after burns fat. All I really want is to BURN that FAT! Anybody who can offer a…

Great challenge!! And so fitting with my life right now, thanks!
