Thanks for the responses guys! This is really interesting and helpful info.! I have noticed when I eat what I feel my body needs I lose weight too! It is weird though. Sometimes the scale will show I lost one pound on day, gained 5 pounds the next day, and then bounce back down to show like an eight pounds loss the next…

Just use the setbacks to make you stronger. Setbacks happen to everyone on their journey to lose weight. What you are going through is normal and happens to everyone. I think its not so much the willpower, but having the right structure around you to support you: positive friends, specific goals, healthy foods that don't…

Yes. We don't do soda either! Bad for their growing bones and waaaay too much sugar!

I talk to my kids all the time about eating healthy and how important it is. I have taught them what protein, complex carbs, healthy fats, and bad fats are, as well as simple carbs. They roll their eyes, but I don't care. It's funny because my 13 year old daughter is studying health in her PE class and she said she knows…

Thank you everyone. I guess it's true that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. So, I am on my way to getting stronger...and skinnier. :) Seems almost harder sometimes when it's a smaller amount of weight!

I can totally relate! Hang in there and don't give up on your goals! Life would be more difficult and less rewarding if you didn't have them!

On the Dr. Oz show, he was saying people who have PCOD are often vitamin D deficient and to have your levels tested. I'm not a Dr., but thought I would pass this info. on if it can be helpful to any of you.

I think all of the ideas here are really good. A lot of it does depend on where you shop, and buying in bulk does save a lot of money. There is a website called hillbillyhousewife.com that has a grocery list and meals planned out for tight budgets. They also show how to make yogurt, etc. My husband and I bought an extra…

I use Isolate Advantage protein powder from Costco. They have vanilla and chocolate flavor. They are really good just mixed with milk. Also, I read recently in Mens Health magazine that frothing the milk in a proteing shake helps you feel fuller. So, I got a handy milk frother for $20 at Williams Sonoma. It really does…

Good goals you guys! you inspire me! Keep at it, don't give up and re-post your progress please! I would love to hear how you are doing.

Thank you so much everyone! I have been going through some stress lately and fell off the bandwagon, after losing 6 pounds. Frustrating! I've been planning my weekday meals but forgetting to keep my plan in front of me. And then, I've also been bombing way out of my calorie range on the weekends because its not my regular…

This is good. I am going to use these tips because social eating is where I always get nailed on my calories!

Good goals guys! Lets check in mid-week on Wednesday and write about how we're doing. Then- on Saturday, remember to write in about how you did for the whole week! Oh- and I have one more goal to add: yoga daily for 10 minutes minimum!
-
I will add you too. I agree that it helps to have the support of others to cheer you on! We can't do this alone.

Wow. That is so cool! It's always nice to be surprised in a good way, isn't it?

I have been doing the 30 day Shred twice a week, starting last week, and have noticed a huge difference even with that. My arms are tighter and my core is stronger. It gets easier and easier each time and you just feel more empowered. Since I am getting such good results and its such a quick workout, I am going to do it…

Good to hear the feedback. I would really like to get more toned but it seems like no matter how much weights I do, I don't get that ripped look.

Wow sjd200. You inspire me.

Wow. I have a nice long list now of what I can do when the after dinner cravings hit. Thank you so much everyone. Also, I do think part of this is just changing my habits. I make sure to eat protein at dinner every night, but I seem to always want a bottomless bowl of popcorn or a big bowl of ice cream with nuts. Then all…

Just finished the 30 Day Shred level one. I committed to doing it twice a week. I am sooooo glad I did it. I am out of shape so I was nervous I would not make it through but I did. I feel strong and am looking forward to the next time I do it because it will get easier as I go along. Thanks for posting this!! I wouldn't…

Ouch! Good for you for still getting out there and walking though. I thought I was going to fall too, so that's why I went to the park instead of my neighborhood. It was a way less slippery there. I think I'm going to take my dog for another walk today....
-
I will join to do 30 day shred twice a week on Mondays and Saturdays

Thanks everyone for the helpful tips. Yes, this is something I will always struggle with if I want to stay thin. I agree. My challenge now is to have just one and not go into a binge after eating just one! Its really tough when you know people who are amazing cooks!
-
I know. Just reading it makes me crave this evil stuff!!

chocolate is a tough one. I have a really hard time with chocolate with almonds and maple bars. Also, when I see other people eating ice cream I want some too!

From what I could find out, it looks like the Eat Clean Diet but on a 17 day schedule with rotating a variety of unprocessed food, and no preservatices or refined sugar. My thought is that you could just follow the 6 small meals a day plan and eat clean, just change up your food every few weeks so you don't get bored.…
-
Oh my gosh. I can relate to these cravings! So, what do you do to stay away from them?
-
Wow. That is so inspiring, especially that you did it while you had so much going on in your life. Thanks for sharing. The pictures say a lot!
-
I am trying to eat clean too and am sick of the way all the holiday food makes me feel. The Eat Clean books are so inspiring. The challenge is staying in that mindset when people around you are offering you donuts or cupcakes or ice cream. When you stay away from them for awhile though, you start to see that they really…

I am half Greek and when I go to Greece, they eat it with about a tablespoon of raw honey and a small handful of walnuts. Its delicious that way and really helps with the tartness. And yes, it is very filling and soooo good for you! That's why all those Greek villagers who eat that food live for so long! :)
