I live on Dufferin, so this is the closest gym to me by a wide wide margin. The nearest Goodlife (which I cancelled my $55/month membership to) is 30 minutes by bus or subway. Thumbs up for Planet Fitness!

Onsen/sento. Love them so much! Not an option in my current place, but in my old house I used to fill the tub, then have a quick soap-up-rinse-off in the adjacent stand-up shower before I hopped in. Was pretty close to the way it worked in my apartment in Japan with the exterior cleaning area. :)

Now I feel like a Suspicious Person for choosing today of all days to reply to a thread on MFP. :P

Wow, a week? Some days I get on the scale and see it rise and think "Damn...I overdid it yesterday." Could that have really been from the previous week? Or were you referring to the very beginning of a diet?

Sour candy makes me salivate every time I walk by it at the store...I've been staying away by promising myself that I'll buy a single small bag to take on an airplane trip I'm taking this month. It's soon enough that I'm okay walking away after that!

I struggle with getting my water and lately I've slacked off - my weight loss has slowed too. Oops! Your post inspired me to go fill up my bottle and chug half of it. :P

Since I started dieting, two months ago, I've had a shake for breakfast every single morning. I thought it was better than my previous option of "no breakfast at all" and I've gotten it down to a science. I blend directly in the mason jar I drink the shake from, so there's almost nothing to clean up. This is an old…

I ate breakfast so seldomly until recently; I can't even remember the last time I WENT down the breakfast aisle at the grocery store! Haha. I'd quite forgotten about the Aunt Jemima pancake syrups and stuff actually; my family always bought the real deal and have been out to a few maple syrup harvests. Quebec is just a…

That's not a bad idea. :)

digitalsteel - Makes sense I think. Honestly though I have to push myself very hard just to eat breakfast in the first place as I have lifelong morning nausea. There's not much I can actually make myself eat that early in the day.

Really? I never heard of that before. I checked both bottles in the fridge and neither offer an ingredient list at all. Tried to look into it more and found: "it is against federal regulations to add anything to maple syrup at any point in its collection, concentration or bottling, making it truly 100% all natural." Not…

You eat meat and veggies for breakfast!? ;) Thanks a bunch for the opinions, all. Seems to make more sense now!

OMG, that sounds so good! Store-bought?

Can anyone recommend a good maximum/goal for daily non-fruits sugars? I'm okay with cutting down because it seems like it's a problem area for me, but cutting it -out- is another story altogether especially since I am a big milk drinker and I have a sweet tooth. I think I'll have an easier time if I have a solid number to…

I made these for breakfast: http://loishouston.typepad.com/almost_skinny_diaries/2010/08/blueberry-oat-pancakes-with-maple-yogurt.html They were fantastic! Highly recommended.

Steph - I'm afraid not. :( Half a flight of stairs is all I've got to work with.

Thanks Mike, I usually don't eat a lot of such things but I crashed hard yesterday and cheated for the first time in weeks. Really frustrated that nothing has been making a dent. *edit* All right, I've been deluding myself I suppose, the last two weeks I've been caving. Sigh. It's a lot easier to stick to a plan where I…

Thanks a bunch for the replies. :)

With that said, I also try to have a protein shake as soon as I get home. I'm just looking at the 15 minutes or so between finishing the workout and walking in the door and getting out the blender. :)
