You should lift before doing cardio. You will have more to give during lifting if you don't deplete your energy stores with cardio exercises first. It will also help with the sweating thing since you can go straight to the locker room after your cardio.

If I can't eat a full meal before I work out, I usually try to make sure to have a Triple Threat Energy power bar. It helps a lot and doesn't weigh you down or give you that over full feeling.

I quit by just quitting. A woman at my job died when she was just 42 because she got pneumonia and since she was a chronic smoker, she wasn't able to recover from it. I don't usually run. I just circuit train with weights and use a heart rate monitor to make sure my calorie counts are accurate.
