  • Do you have a Wii?? There is a Zumba for Wii that's super fun. I'm sure it's not as fun as being there live in a class, but it comes with a belt that you can slip the wii-mote into so your hands are free. I really like it!
  • Everyone's shrinking! Congrats to all! We can do this!! Yay, mamma power!
  • Ok, weighing in. Down to 149.6! That's 1 lb! Doing a workout everyday has helped. Not sure what to do for next week. Maybe do a little more? If I do an exercise in the morning I'll try to do something in the evening too, at least 3-4 times this week.
  • First of all: CONGRATULATIONS! You're doing a great job! My hubby totally supports what I am doing, BUT at the beginning he did forget what I was trying to accomplish. He would ask "Should we get some Dairy Queen?" and I would always cave in in the past because if someone mentioned anything yummy (ice cream,…
  • This is why I love this site so much! The responses are motivating and make sense and you get a feel for what other people are going through on their own journey. :flowerforyou: I personally started with the food I ate and then slowly added exercise to my routine. I was afraid if I did it all at once that I'd go back to my…
  • How's everyone doing? I'm not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination, but I've been working out every morning for the past 3 mornings. (Small victory here!) I found that if I waited until after work, it was too easy to not do it, and then if I have the urge to in the evening, it's a bonus! Now I have to keep it…
  • So my daughter gives me a big hug this morning and said, "Mommy, my hands can touch now!" I never realized before, but when she hugged me around my waist, she couldn't touch her hands together. Out of the mouths of babes! Talk about a motivator!
  • Count me in! I am the proud mamma of a soon to be 5 year old girl. Like many here with young kids, I want to be able to keep up with her. I also know she looks to me as an example of what a woman should look like. Last fall she said "Look mommy I'm getting as big as you!" smiling and trying to stick out her little tummy as…
  • If enough people got involved to make the selections varied, it would be a great idea.
  • When I started off I threw out all of the really bad snacky stuff that I knew would derail me if I had it in the house. But I had to be realistic. I like to snack. I bought other snacks that wouldn't undo my week. Sugar free pudding cups, fidgicles, veggie straws, animal crackers, apples, vitatops, etc. I also measured out…
  • I bookmarked it. Thanks for sharing!
  • It probably depends on your current fitness level and and how your body feels. I personally do every other day with mostly cardio on the days I don't do shred, with one day off a week not doing any "exercise" if I feel I need it. Other people do 5-6 days of shred in a row with 1-2 days off. Either way, when you're ready to…
  • I've tried these recently and really like them! Warmed up is the best. You can get the mix for half price then bake them on your own and pop them in the freezer. Now that I know I like them I think I'll order the mix on Amazon.
  • I love my makeup. Not sure if it's ok to mention here (I don't want to get kicked off MFP!!!) but I sell some on the side for a company that starts with A and ends in N. I'm my own best customer! Love that I get to try everything new at a discount. Hahaha. Cream to powder eyeshadows are really awesome. Eyeshadow is by far…
  • Did L1D6! Had a two day break there instead of just the normal one. (Hubby surprised me and took me out for the afternoon then out to dinner so I don't exactly feel bad about it!) Haha. Everyone's doing awesome! Keep it up!
  • Did L1D5! Getting better. But c1 cardio still gets my calves! I just have to keep at it. FYI: iCore Women's Stretch and All-In Fitness Free are 2 free apps with some good stretches.
  • IMHO, I would rest it for a day or so and see how it feels. You could have pulled something. Doing the following Hamstring stretch might help if you didn't do any serious damage: Standing position: Keep one leg on ground; put one foot on chair with leg straight. Bend forward at the hip. Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat on other…
  • Checking in! L1D4 down! I took measurements today but I will wait a couple weeks to post any changes. I wish I had taken measurements when I started this fitness journey in September. I'm looking at this workout as the start of a new chapter. Still excited and I love all the wonderful motivation on this site! I think I'm…
  • Found the new post! Thanks so much for putting this together and for always being such an inspiration!
  • L1D3 down. I WILL make it through that aerobic combo in the first circuit without taking a couple quick breathers! It's my calves. No matter how much I stretch before that section kills them. It'll get better. I have faith my body will adapt!
  • BUMP - So I can read this at home... I was firewalled!
  • So is anyone else excited that she's coming out with a new DVD? It's called Ripped in 30. Same premise, except there are 4 levels and you up a level every week instead of every 10 days. Each workout is supposed to be just as short and killer as 30 Day Shred. Only 2 weeks to go! It comes out March 1st.
  • Checking in. Did L1D2! First circuit is the hardest for me. The jumping jacks/jump rope combo kills me! The second one is easier. I can actually do heavier weights for that one. The third is right in the middle. I'm really enjoying the burn.
  • Officially did D1L1 today! Yeah! I don't believe in doing the same exact workout every single day, so I'll probably alternate and do this every other day, with just cardio on the off days. I can't wait to see my new body!
  • Hmmmm.... sounds wonderful. I've been on a few, but I have to warn you all: It's VERY easy to gain weight on a cruise!!! Food is everywhere. It's constant! It's delicious! They'd have to book the whole ship and change their menus to cater to the fitness crowd!! Turn off the 24-7 ice cream machines, alcoholic drinks, pizza,…
  • Ok, so I've been reading post after post about how great 30 Day Shred is. I saw that it was on demand on cable and bit the bullet and decided to give it a try tonight. I only managed to get through one circuit when it shut off because other shows were recording on the DVR! What I did of it was intense. I'll try it again…
  • Believe it or not, sucking on an ice cube can help. You're getting some water and it kinda cures that "oral fixation" you've got going on at that moment.
  • Wow... no one, really?? They said she was kinda like an up and coming Jillian Michaels. (Even though she already has lots of experience, she's just becoming more popular.) Hmmmm.... If no one replies, I may just take a chance and get it anyway.
  • I think maybe you should look into resistance bands. They don't cost too much and there are DVDs out there with instructions/workouts on how to use them. Or you could get just 2 or 3 hand weights to start: 2lb, 5lb, 8lb and use them with some interval training DVDs. That way you have them at home and you'd be more likely…
