I say the only 'too much cardio' is when you can no longer eat for it. If you can eat 4000 cals a day then go for it and enjoy your life :) If you're struggling to keep 1800 cals coming in? Better to scale it back. Like any exercise, too much is where you're not recovering well, becoming injury-prone, not fueling for your…

Yes I do- I also keep my activity updated. Meaning- if I do weight lifting I make sure to enter it as such and put in the specific burn I had so fitbit doesn't try to make it less or more than what it was.

I don't see three days in there where you aren't working out again the day after. You'd have to add SL to one of your work days and then really, really, really focus on rest days. Like no cardio or yoga- think more ice, soft tissue work, rollers- things like this. Stronglifts won't help you lose weight- at least is hasn't…

Depends on how hungry I am. Mostly eggs, eggs and more eggs. Eggs are the base- then I pick my sides. Hamburger or chicken. Banana or an apple. That usually holds me till snack time where I eat more meat..yummy yummy meat. So four eggs, 8oz of beef or chicken and a banana or apple. Oooh- unless there's bacon. Bacon is…

Got any powerlifters before/after instead of bodybuilders?

I do cardio for fun. So soccer in the park, walking to the store on a nice day, walking trails etc. No 'go for the burn' cardio. It's not pertinent to my goals so why do it? I do like treadmills but don't have one so meh- till then I'm not really worried about it.

I started OP with nothing but air. I added the handles for dumbbells, eventually added 2.5 then up and up till I could do a bare non-OLY bar that weighs 15lbs. I'm currently working up to the OLY bar weights. You can work up to the OLY bar if you need to- it's ok :) We're women and some of us are light- so expecting…

I try to take one every two months or so. No lifting, eat at TDEE, do soft tissue work, organize my workout journals, clean up my workout space, that sort of thing. When I come back I come right back to where I was in my workouts. I don't count weeks of illness and true recovery weeks because my body is busy it's NOT a…

I'd post this in some of the Kentucky groups, if you haven't already. Might get some nibbles there :)

In my uh... first hand... experience. I failed with nothing but an empty 15lb bar :D It's easy to ditch- just open your palms and let the bar roll backward over your fingers and to the floor. Chances are you won't destroy yourself or your fingers if you're not up to OLY bars yet. I'm excited to get to use the powercage-…

Yes. I'm hiring them for knowledge not for inspiration or a workout buddy. Teach me the stuff you know, guide me to the right workouts and let me at it. Don't care what they can do with themselves as much as I care what they can do with their clients.

The price isn't bad.. but it's not great either. I bought a 100lb weight set from Walmart (just weights) and it was 25.00 (cheap sand weights but I dont really care). I bought a 35lb non-OLY barbell from Play It Again Sports for 30. I think you could piece together a better set or buy the barbell separate from the weights…

Had another great workout today- box squats are sticking around. I hate squats but the box ones I can deal with. Did my first SL 'approved' DL and was at 30lbs :D Looking forward to my next session and upping to 40. Overhead Press I'm up to 45lbs and I'm super excited about it- so excited that after I finished today I…

Joni- you're so awesome I'd be your friend twice over :D Plus- how else will I get to experience the beautiful hikes in Colorado? :p

What a wonderful moment for you guys and for everyone :) CONGRATS!!

Thanks for sharing how your family works, barefoot. And thank you to those who PM'd me their solutions and tips. Much appreciated and would love to hear from more people how they keep their homes allergen-free for them and comfortable for the other members of their family.

Thanks guys. It's hard some days to handle a TDEE that's that high. Means we get to eat more and that's great, yet it's where doubt and self-loathing can really come out and play in my head. Even though I know I ate closer to 3800 when I was gaining AND never moved a muscle- that evil little voice still says 'Hey fattie,…

I agree. I don't even read threads about bodybuilding women, or powerlifting women (my people!!) because the comments all become 'would I do her or not' and it degrades the hard work people put into their physique and/or lifting. It shows little respect because you're not talking about what they've done but rather, if they…

Because what looks like settling to you might not feel like settling to me. Some people want to spend time with their kids more than their trainer. Some people want to improve their golf game rather than their macro levels. Some people want to run a marathon instead of eat mac and cheese. None of these are invalid.

Watching and enjoying it- don't have a horse in this race though. Just enjoying the sport for the sport's sake :)

I know you're going to get tons of amazing, wow and way to go's. Your weight loss is impressive to me- and inspirational too. It's not really the weight that inspires me it's that you never quit. Knees messed up? Get braces and keep going. Can't run yet? Get walking and keep going farther. Can't lift twenty pounds? Keep…

I can absolutely relate to that. I don't have this giant pressure of not loving myself, hating my body or some sort of big drive. It's just something that I need to do. It's like balancing a checkbook to me- not like 'shedding my skin' or 'finally having the inside and outside match'. Nothing wrong with feeling that way-…

I'd be tempted to add his weight to my ticker. Best compliment I've gotten is just a simple 'I'm proud of you'. It means the world to me because it was from my Hubbs.

Great info- thanks for posting. I have a confession - I get really sick of hearing 'it's not expensive to eat healthy'. Yes, yes it is. I can buy a 5lb bag of frozen fries for 3 USD. A 5lb sack of potatoes is 4.99. Can of Kroger brand chicken soup- 1 USD. Making organic homemade chicken soup- 4.99lb chicken, 2 USD celery,…

"We will just take the Louisville Slugger with us. Neighborhood be damned" I wanted to go for a walk around midnight.

Oh I love the changes you made! It looks so classic Holllywood!

*gives thanks she married a bike mechanic* For me- the angle of the seat is super important as well as making sure the top tube isn't too long for me. I'm all leg and no torso so I need a shorter top tube so I'm not leaning too far forward and thus 'pinching the bits'. Get thee to a bike shop ;)

How frustrating for you- once you get this figured out you'll be golden because you've already proven you can stick with it. Four months! Nothing to sneeze at there. My first question- are you sure you have yourself set at the right activity level? Sedentary isn't for most folks- find a minute by minute calculator for your…
