SOOOOO THIS!!!!!! I eat whenever the heck I want, or not want. It does not matter!!!!
-
^^^ This - it has worked for me for over 9 years.

Exercise is very important. I like having muscle mass and lower body fat because of lifting, it keeps me looking youthful, full of energy, my skin looks better, I could go on and on about the benefits. I can also eat a lot more! I lost my weight doing both, but diet was the more important element at the time. Now I keep a…

I loved Crossfit when I did it for a year and a half but I found I didn't need it anymore. I can (and do) most of the workouts myself, in a gym. The only thing I didn't like about it was the cliques, and the push for Paleo diet. Maybe that's just my box, but everyone was so competitive it just wasn't worth the $150 a month…

She is right. When you do them correctly you are barely actually holding the bar, it is mostly balanced on your collar bone. If I do front squats I lift the bar doing a clean first. I prefer that method to the rack. Also, it is common to not be able to do as much weight as a back squat, but I find you use your glutes and…

^^^THIS On leg day I will warm up with 10 minutes on the elliptical, but nothing crazy. On days I am not doing weights (or occasionally after a shoulder/arm day), I will do HIIT for 20 minutes. I do this twice a week. That is all.

Check out dailyhiit.com There are some intense workouts on there, and they use a sandbag thing, it looks like something you could put together with an old duffle bag (of course, they sell their bags on there too). That being said, a barbell with some plates is not an expensive thing to find at garage sales,…

I agree with the others, weight loss is not linear, you'll lose or not lose in unexpected patterns, just go with the flow and keep doing what you're doing.

Nice post. I have been "maintaining" for 9+ years now. Like you said, I've been up or down a few pounds, but not looking/trying to lose any more. I do strive to continue improving my fitness level though. There are times when getting ready for vacation, for example, I will hunker down and do a 2 week "diet", but for the…

My thoughts exactly, I can barely get through 20 minutes and I am in good shape, usually I stick to 12-15 minutes. Otherwise it is just intervals, not high intensity intervals.
-
You look amazing!!! Good job!!!!!

Agreed with GetSoda (love the avi too!) - you aren't gaining muscle and losing weight at the same time. When people want to gain muscle, they eat over maintenance, gain weight, and lift heavy. They are not losing weight. You might be able to expose some muscles that were hidden under fat before, but you won't gain any…

Yes, when you get to a high fitness level and/or have fitness goals, like muscle building and such, this is when you need to really concern yourself with macro breakdowns. To simply just lose weight at the lower level, worry about calories in vs calories out. And track religiously.

I LOVE CHILI TOO!! I'm making it tonight. I make my own cheeseburger using lean ground beef and a whole wheat or potato bun. Problem solved!

Fage 2% plain or other greek yogurts almonds or celery with almond butter or small banana with almond butter string cheese + natural applesauce rolled up deli turkey Think Thin bars, gluten free, sugar free, yummy (200 cal 20g protein) EAS low carb protein shakes (100 cal 17g protein) cottage cheese snack size (I like to…

This. Honestly and truthfully, my body looks better at 110-112 pounds than it did at 100 pounds. I did nothing but cardio and ate like a bird. Now I eat more, and spend most of the time in the gym lifting heavy weights (I do 2 days of cardio/HIIT on the treadmill), my skin has firmed up so much and my cellulite is…

Those are some great results! Looking awesome!

^^^ Agree with everything this man says!!! And I wouldn't eat back any exercise calories just yet (plus it does sound like you're overestimating), try it for a week or so and see how you do. And measure every single thing with a scale! You'd be surprised how much you're actually eating.

They are awesome in overnight oats.

I eat more on the days I lift heavy if I feel the need to. I listen to my body. I often find on leg days I need more, so I eat more.
-
You're a different girl! Looking awesome!!!

I love Fage 2% yogurt (plain) which has 8g carbs, 4g fat, and a whopping 20g of protein! I throw in a little bit of peanut butter for taste. Can't go wrong there!!!

I wasn't big to begin with, really just needed to lose the excess baby weight I put on with my son, so it took 5 months of true diligence, very little cheating or going off plan, to go from 127-ish to 105 pounds, around 25-30 pounds.

Short term, like if I am bloated a day before an event, I will take a Diuerex or drink the dandelion tea, it helps temporarily. A little longer term, like if I am gearing for a vacation and I want to banish all bloat, I will pretty much stop eating gluten and anything processed for 2 weeks, and drink nothing but coffee and…

You look beautiful, and kind of like Katy Perry!

HIIT all the way! A max of 20 minutes and I burn more than I would doing 40 slow and boring minutes. Now when it comes to weight lifting, I take a little more time, but for cardio, fast and intense.
-
P.S. Here is a decent article I found on it http://www.muscleandstrength.com/articles/german-volume-training-for-shocking-muscle-growth.html

I've done this one day per week for months now, I like this way of training, but I pretty much do it as a form of cardio almost, I'm not lifting nearly as heavy as I would doing 5-8 reps, however, I do exhaust the muscles. I think it is definitely another way to get lean (following a good diet of course) however, it is…

Very funny. I was reading this thinking, what the heck, then I saw your little troll guy.

More heavy weights, less cardio. I haven't stopped doing cardio all together but I limit it to 40-60 minutes a week (high intensity cardio). I spend most of my time at the gym lifting.
