The sadness sucks - I couldn't do anything to help it in the run up to him leaving and the week or two after he left. So I just let it run its course. It does get better though, just make sure he knows how you feel and try and enjoy the time you have left. Communication is key.

You can still lose weight without exercise, it just means you can't eat as much. Good luck :)

I spent a year in Japan in high school, and a few of my host sisters, whom I would've regarded as very slim, thought they were overweight. One was particularly upset about her figure, even though she would've been a size small-medium here in NZ. I thought it was ridiculous but, that being said, she was wearing a Japanese…

I sort of based it on previous weights, taking into account that even at my lowest adult weight I wasn't really all that satisfied. I'm shooting for 52 kilos, which at 5' will give me a BMI of about 23; however, I'm hoping to retain a bit of muscle mass so fingers crossed I'll look like I have a BMI of 22  That…

Just anything you've accomplished through your weightloss/fitness/overall healthier lifestyle that you happened to notice that day that made you really happy and showed you that you're progressing well.

Says the girl with shoes as her profile pic  1. I'm not a very "nurturing" person 2. My room is always a mess; I'm a bit of a slob 3. Love Batman comics and video games 4. Love martial arts and watching fights 5. Don't mind porn, or that my OH watches it (especially since we're currently in different countries) 6.…

I knew I'd gained weight but I didn't know my boyfriend noticed or cared much about it until I told him I was going to try lose some and he was very encouraging. I almost felt kind of put out about how encouraging he was about it, but having said that, I don't know how I would have reacted if he'd said something before I…

Yeah, my aim is a comfortable NZ size 8 (US 2, I think)

I've got one on my ankle - I got it about a year ago and it still looks fine. As for the pain, it was definitely manageable.

Nope, I just all of a sudden decided I was really gonna do it this time and started tracking right away

To feel confident and at home in my own body. To look good for my boyfriend - he deserves a nice looking girl, and I don't ever want to give him a reason to be ashamed of me. For the trifecta: brains, beauty and awesomeness.

Because I'm short and grew up with no thoughts about portion control. Then once I found out about caloric needs and portions, I convinced myself that because I'm short that would mean living off salads for the rest of my life if I ever wanted a nice body; I figured I'd rather eat "like a normal person" and be a little on…

Yeah, I've found I've been pre-logging a bit lately. I find it easier to just plan out everything in advance to see where I'll be at at the end of the day. I don't mind adjusting things.

Yeap, I can definitely relate. I'm now back down to the same size a was in 7th form; a size that I had to diet and exercise to get to then as well (I was an overweight child and teen). I can remember being fairly satisfied with how I looked then, and in my first year at uni. But now all I see is an overweight person in the…

Hey, I'm 5'0" and 21 from New Zealand. I've lost about 9lb so far and am currently at 123lb looking to get down to 115-117

Special K Original cereal... And when I wasn't watching my diet at all it was powdered drinking chocolate - Milo or Cadbury's.

I'm slightly confused. According to fitness frog, my TDEE - 20% is 1,700 calories. Depending on the calculator, my BMR is between 1,300-1,400. If I log my exercise (and I usually try to gauge a realistic estimate of the burn by going lower than MFP recommended burns) and eat at TDEE - 20% (1,700 calories), I come out with…

The chili itself is usually pretty low cal and healthy, especially if you bulk it up with beans. Add a bit of low fat sour cream or avocado/guacamole, and maybe 20g low fat cheese. Serve over baked corn tortilla chips. Sorted

Yeap, I'm currently in the long distance relationship. He's currently living in Japan and I'm back home in New Zealand. We've been apart almost a year to this day (but I visited over Xmas) and we've got one more year to go till he's back home. We'd been together almost 2 years before he left. I wouldn't recommend a long…

Yeah, the easiest low cal drink is diet mixers with spirits. I was drinking either vodka or malibu with diet coke on Saturday with each drink being around about 60 calories.

Oooh, thank you! That does make sense  Curiosity = satisfied

That's awesome - good luck for the tournament!

I'm hoping I will have hit my goal weight of 115-117 by Christmas, yes  Only 6-8 lb to go!
-
Thanks for the responses  Glad I'm not the only one I think I need to just give it a bit of time and hope that I'll feel great once I hit my target >.<

I don't have kids - but I do this when I'm baking or when my family's having something unhealthy and I've decided to eat something else. It is SUCH a hard habit to break so congrats!
