Sweet, I've done 3 days so far, but decided I'm not going to do it 30 days straight (coz I do other workouts and doing the shred on top of them just leaves me way too sore the next day ). I'm using 3kg hand weights (6.6 lb)

OMG your abs look amazing.

I don't think you look too skinny, I just think it's the sports bra in the afters that makes it look like you've lost a bit of femininity to your figure when compared to the befores. You look great in both the before and the afters though

I know exactly how you feel - I hate a lot of the photos that get posted of me on FB. Also, last year was my Mum's 50th birthday and my Dad made a photo board for her, which included a picture of me from 6 or 7 years ago at my highest weight. I told him I hated pictures of me from that era but he left it on there and told…

Awesome work! You should be so pleased

You can give advice, but I don't think you should be surprised if people don't take you seriously, given it looks like you've only just started out. Just like I wouldn't take advice on how to study from someone with a C average, I wouldn't trust the advice about how to lose weight from someone who's overweight. It's just a…

A 2 lb + loss per week is quite a high goal. You've already lost 11 lb in 44 days, that's huge success! Don't be too down, if you're feeling run down though, it might pay to up your calories a bit.

Yep, I'm definitely here to look good - I didn't have any health issues that could be fixed with weight loss before I came on here.

Just finished my major in Japanese last year

Awesome! You're looking great - much happier

I'm 5', 125 lb, waist's about 27"

This ^^ A 40 lb loss sounds like it'd probably put you at underweight. I'd say 10 lb at most, but you don't really have to lose any; you could just lift weights and eat lots of protein to change body comp

I've logged pretty much everything everyday for the past 2 months, sometimes with eclectic food entries - my diary's always open and will never say no to new friends
-
I try to think of it this way: I know that no matter what, I'm probably eating better (and less) than what I was eating before, and that in itself is a win  It all depends on you as an individual and what you want to get out of this lifestyle change. If your goal is to simply "be healthier", then noting the number…

I'm 5', 125 lb and I wear an NZ/UK size 10 (which I think is about a US 4?) and size M. Want to get down to an NZ/UK size 8

I'm always surprised at how low calorie sushi is - you can eat a bunch of tuna sashimi and egg nigiri and only come to about 300-400 calories for lunch, it's awesome. I don't see why you can't consider it healthy eating?

It's pretty easy to lose weight in Japan, I reckon. A lot of their food is pretty diet friendly so long as you stay away from the deep fried stuff (even though it's pretty delicious  ). Could be a good idea to join a gym or fitness club or something, as that could also be a good way to meet some new Japanese people…

I reckon when you think about it, most of the people losing weight for appearances are really losing the weight for other people (i.e. to appease society). As for me, I'm losing weight to feel better about myself because society's telling me I should look good in a bikini, and because I want to look good for my boyfriend…

Huge difference around your face  Congrats! Keep it up!

Hottie

Sweet, thanks for your suggestions. I think I'll go for 3kg ones

Anyone...?

It really depends on the individual, but I'm 5'0", female and I've been on here for about 2 months and lost 7 lb (went from 132 to 125). I think because you're bigger you can expect to lose more than that in 2 months

I do Shotokan karate; been doing it since I was 8, so hasn't really helped with weight loss because it was my diet that I needed to take control of as opposed to exercise. Got my 2nd dan last year

According to most people, your NET should be at least 1,200; according to others, ideally it should be your BMR. Really, it depends on who you're talking to, a lot of people have different opinions on this sort of stuff. Find out which works better for you, though by the looks of it you're probably eating too little if…

Wow, you look like a totally different person! Congrats on your loss

Yeah, I understand that, I was just wondering if that means she's required to eat her exercise calories back as well... 2,800 seems like an awful lot to eat whilst "dieting" is all I'm thinking.

I go 4 or 5 times a week (and have karate twice a week as well)
