I don't rely on it, but I like it (especially now that as some have already mentioned, I'm getting close to One-derland). I use it as a bit of motivation to keep going with logging and making better choices. Plus, I see it as a non-judgemental voice when I do go overboard. Like when I logged in my Indian food fest last…

Hah - just wanted to say your story about Oreos makes me laugh because my best friend is vegan so yes indeed I know Oreos are vegan. I keep them at my house as a treat for her when she visits. Single mom to twins? You're already a hero.

Nice job! You saved yourself a lot of strife and just got it done. That's fantastic.

I was supposed to do Week 8, Day 2 yesterday but a tough day combined with a worse headache kept me at home. I felt really bad about myself for missing a run (my first so far and this is the last week!) but then I went to boot camp this morning and we had to run nearly two miles while carrying weights and I was SO grateful…
-
Congratulations!! Can't wait to say the same myself later this week.
-
Yes, EXACTLY. I was thinking the same thing last night as I completed Week 7. It's definitely not easy but I've tried to run before, I've even completed a 5K before (walked the majority of it), and had convinced myself that running just wasn't something I was capable of. To be able to run this program has been so amazing…

I'm sorry to hear you had to experience that Us vs. Them run group mentality. It's very annoying. But after you smoked that guy he probably thought you were pulling his leg about it being your first race! I've missed this thread! I haven't made the time to check in recently but I'm still going forward. Completed Week 7,…

Welcome. Honestly, wanting to be able to participate in the group discussion here gave me a lot of motivation to continue the C25K program so I hope it does the same for you. I love your idea of having a running "season." That sounds like a good way to ward off boredom.

Finished Week 6 last night! Two more weeks? I can't even believe I'm this close to done.
-
I sent a request! I have a Vegas trip coming up I'm using for motivation as well.
-
Good for you! Walking in is the hardest part. Just follow along as best you can and if you get turned around or confused with the movements just stop and step side to side until you there's a repeat and you can follow along again. Try not to feel self-conscious, I promise you everyone else there is busy worrying about…

Finished Week 6, Day 2 last night but my pace was slower and I was kind of bummed out. I know it's because I just started a boot camp on Monday and I'm still extremely sore from that, so I need to not be down on myself. BUT STILL. Anyway, I got through it relatively easy and the run actually did help ease my soreness so…

I used to do a weekly zumba class, and walk on my days off, maybe a Jillian video here and there but now that I'm in week 6 and getting closer to done I started a boot camp on my off days: cardio, strength and core work. I still try to do a 20 minute or so walk on my breaks at work to keep "on my feet."

My baby just hit 10 months and we're still breastfeeding for the time being. I GAINED weight nursing my first son so I'm happy that it's going the other way this time. Feel free to add.

That story is so creepy! I'd run in the morning too!

Wow, zorbaru, great times! I am still moving pretty slow. My average pace including warm up and cool down on my W6D1 run was 14:23 but I was pleased with that. Though my slow run was really highlighted today as I started a bootcamp program and there was sprinting and I got left in the dust. I couldn't do anything but laugh…

Go you! I did my 20 minute run last week and the feeling of accomplishment has been carrying me through for nearly a week! Congrat!
-
Congratulations on that first run AND for kicking the cigarette habit! What an accomplishment. Your breathing will definitely improve as you go but keep practicing. I still need to remind myself to slow my breathing and it helps me keep the running going longer. I am also very slow - I hit my best average time yesterday…

Week 5, Day 3 is DONE, my friends! I am still so happy about it and it's been over 24 hours. It was definitely not without challenges. First my kids almost kept me from getting out the door in time, then I guess I picked the wrong pants out of the drawer because as soon as I started running, those pants started dropping.…

I was blinded by your awesome pics and then while reading the thread, I finally noticed your papillons! Greatest dog I ever had was a papillon rescue who died after just five months and I miss him to this day. Amazing progress! You look fantastic. Congrats on all the hard work.
-
Definitely go slow and wear proper shoes! I have the personality where I want to be awesome at something right away and that has gotten me into going too fast, too soon and then I quit. What's worked for me so far this time (I'm on Week 5) is to schedule out your runs and stick to it. Keep going and don't give in when your…

Great advice, thank you. I'm in Week 5 and it's honestly more mental than physical right now. Just the idea that I could run 5, 8, 20 (!) minute segments after being pretty sedentary just over a month ago.
-
Week 5, Day 1 in the books and I was shocked at how well I managed. All five minute jogs and I did it! I was bracing myself for a bad run because I was really sore from walking 3 hilly miles the day before but the warm up walk helped me loosen up. I'm so excited by the progress Ive made in a short time. Carolina, I'm so…

What a great post! I loved that story. " Bea seemed to feed on the broken spirits of those we surged past." - too funny. Speaking of the dreaded Week 5, Day 3, I just checked my calendar and I scheduled it for Halloween. Whoops. Looks like I'll be dressed as a runner when I take my boys trick or treating.
-
I'm scheduled for Week 4, Day 3 tonight! I mentioned in another thread that I was apprehensive about the 5 minute run segments as well but I figured I may as well try it out and I did it! It was tough but manageable and the high from that "achievement" felt so great. I have some weight to lose too and I've tried this…

I'm new around here, too and just slightly ahead of you in the program. I finished Week 4, Day 2 last night. I was nervous about week 4, too but just go for it. You might surprise yourself, either way you'll know. I just told myself, "I'm in training and this is what training is." I have to remember that since I've got…

That is awesome, congratulations! I totally thought of Adam Levine to get through my run segment last night too. Whatever works! Love your costume idea.
-
Congratulations!! My mom is a diabetic so I know recognize how important that number can be. That is really great progress. Now you know you can do it!
-
I'm here and sent a friend request! Open to more buddies too! I am 35, have two boys (3 and 9 months) and work full time. I'm still breastfeeding so my weight is coming off rather quickly so I'm trying to build better habits for once my breastfeeding days are over. I'm also in a weight loss competition at work. I set small…

YES! Congrats! I am getting closer and closer and this is motivation!
