I just joined this group and I am impressed with how active it is.
My history: I have been running for about five years. I usually run from September to April. I usually do a five km race on Jan 1, and a ten km race in April. My time has stayed the same, and I like to start from scratch in a "learn to run" program like c25k every September.

I have had a painful history of shoulder issues, and surgery three months ago. This week I finally am capable of resistance exercises to help my shoulder heal and I have also volunteered to be a 10 km trainer for the Vancouver Sun Run in April. So, I need to push myself to run regularly and continue with physiotherapy and strength training. I joined this group to help keep me motivated.

Now, I need to get off the couch and go for a run. I think my plan for today will be to run 7 minutes, walk 1 minute three times. With a warm up and cool down I should do 4.5 to 5 km.

Thank you for joining the group. I think it's important for new runners to see that there are a lot of different ways of incorporating running into an active lifestyle.

Welcome. Honestly, wanting to be able to participate in the group discussion here gave me a lot of motivation to continue the C25K program so I hope it does the same for you. I love your idea of having a running "season." That sounds like a good way to ward off boredom.
