  • I put in 2.5 to 3 hours at the gym doing cardio and another half an hour strength training. This is generally 4 days a week with two days of kickboxing or lifting and a rest day. Cardio includes running, and elliptical. And a few minutes on the cycle to cool down. And I've lost 33 kgs (close to 70lbs) with another 30 lbs…
  • S hope it is. Still trying to find my footing with the changes though
  • G glad to have you on board! I spent the last three years in denial and then depression because of the weight gain. But thankfully I'm more than halfway through. It was tougher the second time around but it feels powerful when you start seeing results.
  • Going by how many women are getting gangraped in India, I really feel safer when I lift/strength train. Personally, I do not like cuts so much but I really really reallllyyy want to become strong enough to take down a guy someday :D Also yes, i'm so glad i actually enjoy lifting as much as I enjoy power walking- I hate the…
  • Great Difference. You are beautiful!
  • What they said. Plus, can you give the beef steak a miss? They are really high in calories and red meat is something you should steer clear of. Good integration of sea food there. Add more vegetables, how about salad for lunch someday it'll be easier and hassle-free too. Soup again is a good option, so is frankee minus the…
  • Chocolates and pastries are often the death of my diet. Welcome to mfp !
  • I had bulimia till 2 years back, I took care of that disorder and lost a whooping 70 pounds. Now, I'm an emotional eater and I have gained half the weight back :( But i'm trying, and trying for good. So I hear you *hugs*
  • Aww hey love i totally understand where you come from. I was skinny just a year ago and then poof fat again. it hurts seeing your old clothes but hang in there. Consistency is the key, find one reason that motivates you like hell (mine is looking at my old pictures)

  • This mightn't be ideal but peanut butter on brown bread and egg white's omlette takes care of my breakfast and mid-morning hunger pangs.
  • Try HIIT, it helped when i reached a plateau
  • I'm so in Weekly Goal: 3500 Mon: calories burned (how they were burned) - 872 Tues: calories burned (how they were burned) - 0 Wed: calories burned (how they were burned) Thur: calories burned (how they were burned) Fri: calories burned (how they were burned) Sat: calories burned (how they were burned) Sun: calories burned…
  • Right i agree, you do have a lot of indian dishes mentioned but I'm a bit doubtful about their actual caloric content. So i do look up on the internet to verify.
  • But you're never too old to start anew :), why not make this group 19-30 instead :)
  • 23 :)
  • You GO girl! I recently quit smoking myself as that was what my boyfriend wanted as a birthday gift. Boy was that difficult! but in the end, I somehow feel more confident, superior in fact :D
  • I'm actually based in Calcutta at the moment. You're right about yoga actually, I've been doing yoga for close to 13 yers now and my body somehow does not respond to it much.
  • hahahaha that really cracked me up and no, the gym is at quite a distance and I'd have to take the subway most probably, but that wouldn't really be much of an issue.
  • Haha I know, heat or no heat. I'm a journalist with an erratic schedule, i sometime go to bed at 5 am, so I'm sure I'm never going to be consistent with the running idea. Although, I love walking to music, but sadly that does not burn a lot of calories
  • I was looking to shed a bit of weight first. Since i gained around 80 pounds in a year, maybe if i could shed the 1st 20 by concentrating hard on cardio and healthy eating, i could move on to toning along with moderate cardio. I have the 30 day shred, but never really went past the 1st level.
  • I wish I could, but we get 10 months of scorching heat in India, that would char your skin and bone rather than giving you a nice tan (don't believe the authors who mulled over Indian summers, it's nowhere as pleasant as the books state), So going for a run/jog isn't much of an option for me.
  • I was an avid green tea fan till June last year. Then I switched to coffee and regular tea. Here's what I noticed while being on green tea and switching Green tea fills up for those who are caffeine addicts ( I drink close to 8 cups per day) It DOES detoxify, noticed a lot of changes in breakouts. Times when I reached a…

  • Hey there hun! Let's stick around and motivate each other. I just piled on all the lost weight so yes, i do need tons of support. Sorry about the feet things but I'm sure you'd concentrate on working out your upper body.
in hi everyone :) Comment by Mawra May 2012
  • haha i just turned 23, so i guess i qualify :)
  • We have something in common. Both the college and trying again part :)
  • I second this. I really need food rehab during my time of the month. It's like I can eat a horse (a sugar-coated one preferably) and still WANT to eat more.
  • I'm not really going to give you the crap that accept yourself and all. I know EXACTLY what you are saying, I am not my idea of beauty myself and although, yes I am not aiming to be like some airbrushed celebritiy out of Vogue, I just want to be the person I feel I am in my head.
