  • I know this is an older thread but I have been doing CBL for about 5 weeks now and I got PHENOMENAL results. I was on a plateau for about 5 months (same weight at 152, even got body fat checked and everything/measurements stayed the same). I didnt think it was going to work but I was very happy and am continuing it for…
  • Try and encourage her to focus more on being fit and healthy. When I was 18 and extremely chubby I wanted that "look" too, but then I was completely blown away when I became older and saw what a fit and healthy woman looks like (Jillian Michaels body made me totally change my mind about body perception!). Im 28 now, and it…
  • I just got Health_Gal'd twice! Blocked.
  • Having started CF, I noticed usually most of us girls segregate into groups, ie: Youre in my range, shes out of my range, and we have healthy competitions between our reasonable body fitnesses. However, if someone does well, great, we cheer for them, but I notice the girls are always cheering on the last person WAY more…

  • Oh god! LOL I dont count my veggies in MFP! Wow that must look like a horrible gut wrenching way to eat hahaha. No no I eat a LOT of veggies, I just dont add them to my list xD.
  • Yeah Ive been plateauing for about......5 months? Its been a long time since Ive been under 141 lb. Im not really all that concerned with the scale but 30-28% bodyfat is not where I want to be by any means. I think I would be content around 20%. Just started paleo about 5 weeks ago so Im going to stick with it for at least…
  • That makes sense and thanks for the reply. Im not looking to bulk just yet, Im still at roughly 30% bodyfat and would like to get it down to 20%. Was just curious if me doing this would aid in my cause :)
  • Oh yeah and DEFINITELY add strength training in your workout, by ALL means. That was the entire catalyst for me.
  • I had been on a plateau for 5-6 months and only recently started to crack it by upping my calories from 1300-1700 I know it seems scary to up the calories but your body will seriously appreciate it, and Im also Paleo, so Ive been eating tons of clean/quality foods (for the most part xD) and raising the calories seems to…
  • CF 5-6 times a week Olympic weightlifting 4 times a week Cardio (ellyptical, running, what not) 2 days if I feel up to it
  • I did an Olympic Weightlifting class at my box yday and finally did a split + jerk correctly. On rep 4 I guess I was fatigued and slammed the bar into my chin on the way up. Wouldve been a great split jerk had I not hurt my face. Really embarrassing! I guess dont lift if your even slightly tired.
  • First WOD I ever did I felt so shaky and miserable and naseated, so I completely feel ya. Im fairly new (3-4 weeks in) and thankfully that initial shock has gone away. I still feel tired and sore after but Im nowhere close to feeling pukey anymore. The water is essential. I drink 30-50 fl oz before and right after. I…
  • Congrats, thats awesome! I couldnt even clean 65# today! Horrible day for me Crossfit wise.
  • Appreciate the feedback and thanks. Were doing 13.4 WOD today...so Ill keep that in mind lol.
  • Yeah its been a good 4-5 months (ish) that Ive been on plateau. Ive only just really started Primal/paleo so...Ill keep going. i am enjoying Cf a lot, Im just really not used to it. Im not used to spending 1 hour working out with various things. I suppose the change is good for my body though.
  • So today was day 2 and we did deadlifts, which the highest weight I could go without getting freaked out was 105#. I just kept getting concerned about injury so I played it safe even though the coaches told me they thought I could do more. We followed with double unders and sprints up hill x 4 which sucked, but all in all…
  • Thanks for the post Kelr! Regarding eating habits, it took me a while to get the whole paleo regime down (not that you have to go that route, just using it as an example). I eventually cut out cheese, then grains, then all the little bits of extras I was consuming. The ONLY thing I am not willing to give up is my greek…
  • Wow congrats on all your success that is truly inspirational! And I love how youre a size 6 and weight 150. Im totally fine with the numer (for myself) but I am not ok with having a 30" waist (which is what I currently have). Im not ok with fat deposits on my chest and hips, and even though I have been working out for 9…
  • Yeah this month since Ive been following the paleo regime I am up to about 16-1900 calories. According to one of the websites listed above (thank you!!) it said I should be around 1780 anyway, so seems like Im right on track regarding that. Before i was around 1400 or 1300. So I have definitely upped my cals the last 5-6…
  • Thanks so much for the response and I deeply appreciate the links and I will most definitely read them! As far as CF goes, I understand that it's not meant for fat loss and sure, the goals of CF meet mine in the sense that I would like to be a more well rounded person, fitness wise. I just see a lot of women who do CF all…
  • OMGPaleo is pretty amazing, not to mention she has some nice sweet treat ideas (which I really like). On a side note, I basically just get my meats (chicken, fish, turkey) and just do creative things with the veggies. For example, mashed Cauliflower, or cabbage "noodles", lettuce/leaf wraps, stir fry with…
  • I think what they have both said is more or less correct ^^ Also I think Jillian means when youre in a plateau, its useful, sometimes, to "zig zag" calories. I dont think Jillian would ever recommend a person eat less than 12-1300 calories. Im pretty sure she would be horrified (just my assumption). For one, if you're…
  • What I mean by deficit, my delicate princess Alyx, :) is the total amount of calories taken in verus taken out. For example, in an ENTIRE day, I burn lets say 2300, and I eat about 1800. So 2300 burned (all day, with excersize) MINUS 1800 =500 calorie DEFICIT So from what Ive read, when you have about 15-10 pounds to lose,…
  • Same, it seems like weight loss gets a little weird when you get to a point where youve lost the majority of the weight. So it seems common consensus that if youre in my predicament, you will need to have a deficit of 200-500. I still dont get it! But I will do it and see what happens!
  • Aha ok. So is 500 fair or should I do 300 or so? That seems awfully slow :( but its worth it I guess if I eventually get to goal body fat %.
  • Haha thanks iRebel! <3 Ah ok so you suggest a 500 calorie deficit. Is there any reason why this would be more beneficial than say a 750 or even going more to 900 or something?
  • Im Iranian and my boyfriend is American, and my family is totally cool with it. We've lived in the US for 15 years and love it here. My boyfriend loves that Im persian and I teach him farsi all the time. Of course, some people will always think its not a good dymanic, and I think its a really stupid and stigmatized way of…
