I've been working graveyard for a few years and have lost a bit. My biggest piece of advice is make sure you get consistent sleep. I know it's even harder with a child but sleep is very important. I found when I lack sleep, I tend to over eat and didn't bother exercising since I was too tired.

I have. Honestly it's mostly held me back when it comes to dating. I just didn't bother. I felt I was too big to be attractive to date. It is better now. Time is a big factor. It will take time for your brain to catch up.

I have work night shift 11pm-7am and have lost weight, albeit slowly over the span of 5 years. Honestly there is no "right time" to eat nor is there certain foods you have to consume. I'm not a big time social butterfly either and when I was much, much heavier, it was worse. Over the years though with the weight going down, I'm a little better and the gym has been a big part of that. It forced me to get out of my comfort zone in good ways.

I have some nerdy t-shirts that are getting too big and look like night gowns on me now and that makes me sad. I then remember I can just go out and buy new, smaller versions of them and get happy again until I see all the co$t$ involved, realize I have other grown up financial worries, like rent, and get sad again.

I don't do treadmills, exercise bikes, ellipticals or anything that would allow me to watch Netflix when I workout. I do download and add to my workout playlist music from shows I do watch like Doctor Who.
