When it was first obvious that I had lost weight, yes. Absolutely. I went from being the fat funny girl to being a little more introverted because I didn't know how to handle all the compliments mixed with digs about how I looked before I lost weight. Example: Wow! You look great! You lost that "pooch" and "shelf butt!"…

8. I went from an 18 at my biggest to an 8 when I was training for my half marathon and am now in a 10. This summer I'll be back in my 8's. I'm 5'7". I'm also very pear shaped, so an 8 in jeans is a 4 in tops/dresses for me.

Clothes! I need them anyway, so it works out great. I had to buy an entire new wardrobe for this spring and summer because last year at this time I was 60+lbs heavier. I can't afford to go crazy, but buying a bunch of $7 size small Target t-shirts sure felt rewarding to me, considering I used to be in an XXL.

I started running at 219lbs (I'm 5'7"), and my joints didn't mind at all. The responsible thing to say is to talk to a doctor. But I don't think it would hurt to try week one and see how you feel. Maybe do each week a few times to really ease into it.

$10 for planet fitness Running outside is my other "free" exercise This month I did a $50 bike ride, a $25 10k, bought some workout/running clothes (maybe $50), $5 headphones (score!), should I count the $8 knee brace?.. I guess it varies.

I say focus on distance rather than time. The time will speed up as your endurance increases. My first 5k was 35 minutes. My second (a couple months later) was 31. Now I do 10k's in about 65 minutes and 5k's in about 28.

They're obviously hella processed (unless it's something more like a trail mix/date paste kinda thing), and they have loads of sugar. That being said, I eat several a week. They're my snack when I want junk food a lot of the time because they at least have 8-15g of protein and a decent amount of fiber. Far more than…

She's not saying she's going over on calories. Just that she went over the piddly 60g of protein MFP set her at, and she was wondering if that was a bad thing (which obviously it's not.) She still has over 1,000 calories left for the day. The way I read your first comment was that you were telling her consistently going…

My flat abs. After 3 kids I'm pretty thrilled with this tummy of mine.

This seems like very odd advice coming from someone who appears to know a thing or two about protein and muscles (judging from your pictures. Whoa!) I've never seen anyone anywhere say to limit protein.
-
It's meant as a minimum. Like fiber or calcium. I try to eat at least 100 grams per day. Edited to add, you diary actually isn't open. Try it again! I'm curious!

I do this too.

I have my clothes laid out the night before. So when my alarm goes off at 5:15 I get up, get dressed in the dark, go pee, brush my teeth, fill my water bottle, and I'm out the door. I love being done by 7:00. It feels really good.

Under Armour. Specifically the ones made for high impact (or however they phrase it on the tags.)

After several months, my once loved Yurbuds now fall out. Yesterday I must have adjusted them 50 times in 40some minutes of running. Total bummer.

I started in April at 219lbs with a goal in the 150's. I didn't have a timeframe in mind but knew that I at least wanted feel good about myself by Halloween (my birthday) and I did. As of right now I'm 160lbs and feel great. So i suppose it took me 8 months to lose roughly 60lbs and meet my goal.

I'm with the guy who said when your car runs out of gas you don't cry. You put gas in the car. Pretty simple. You need fuel. You need PROTEIN (I saw days where you got less than 25 grams in an entire day!) You just simply need to eat more. More fat, more fiber, more protein, just more food in general. And if you're crying…

I make a really fatty rich delish spinach artichoke dip that always disappears pretty quickly.

To each their own, but I do think commenting "WTG" or "Great job!" on someone's diary that is private is silly. Someone could eat nothing but a box of ding dongs all day and still come in under. That's hardly a good job. But it's really not a huge deal if they don't want to share with me or other friends. I just am…

I'm curious to see your food diary.

Great job! I sent you a friend request. We're pretty similar.

Time is irrelevant. Eat when you're hungry. For me that's every evening because we eat dinner early and go to bed late. I have a few hundred calories of snacks every evening after 8 or 9:00.

If you don't like it do something else. What about jumping rope (easy to take to work) or just good ol' calisthenics? And that is really fast. Seriously. Really fast. If you want to stick with running you should really slow down.

This. I weigh in a couple times a month (I don't own a scale either, so I do it when I visit my parents.) The tape measure and pictures tell a lot more than a silly scale does. It's interesting to check in a see how much I've lost, but it's not really my focus.

SOOO THIS.

You can look at my pics to see some seriously awful thunder thighs and chunky belly a month after having my third baby, compared to now (7 months and 55lbs later.) I'm still naturally very pear shaped, which will never change, but I've tightened up big time. It's mostly about food and eating at a deficit. But I also run…

I take fish oil (joints/skin), iron (I never eat enough), and a cal/mag/D (female, runner, breastfeeding.) I've never taken a multi, just the things I'm lacking in my diet.
