  • Reading these posts have been so helpful for me as well. I'm 5' 0" and am at 146, hoping to lose down to 118-120. I had lost weight before using MFP but lost focus and gained weight back. These posts are encouraging!

  • With everyone's help here, we've planned a trip to London July 27-August 4, staying in Bloomsbury area. We booked a daytrip to Stonehenge/Bath during that week, and will book a daytrip to Paris as well. Yay! Ok, we've decided our must-see's include the London Eye, Windsor Castle, Hampton Court, Westminster Abbey, The…
  • Thank you all so, so much for the information! This is helping us get an idea of where would be the best to stay and what to expect. Sounds like good recommendations for areas, restaurants, and activities! Super excited!!
  • Our budget isn't super expansive, so midrange would be good, maybe a few hundred dollars a night or less? Not sure what prices are there. Good to know that Kensington and Mayfair are more expensive. Love, love, love historical attractions. Keep the ideas coming! BTW, we are coming from Idaho, US.
  • Oh, and what other areas outside of London are not to miss too?
  • I live about an hour away from Jackson Hole. Jeans are more than ok for going out to dinner, etc, while you're there. Thicker leggings and long sweaters over a cami would be good too, with boots. For skiing or snowboarding, check out some of the online ski shops. Like the above poster said, layers are going to be best.…
  • I tend to like bulkier guys, but not so bulky that they look like they only grunt and use stone tools.
  • Because I don't have the 2-3, or even 4 hours a day to spare. Insanity takes almost all the workout time I have since it takes almost an hour a day most days, and it's six days a week.
  • I wouldn't bother. But if you get an interview I would bring a copy of the references and letter of recommendation to leave with them, along with a nice copy of your resume.
  • Just a thought too.... depending on the size of the company, if it's a large company and you applied online, your application may first go to a separate department or a recruiter before it's sent to the place where the position is for which you are actually applying. If it's a large company, your follow up application call…
  • My bad. I misread. For me, one quick call to see if I got the application and to see if the position is still open is ok. Daily or even frequent calls make me mad and interfere with my workload (See the 50+ applications comment above. LOL). But this is just my opinion and could definitely be different for other people.
  • A letter is always a bonus. I might have 50+ candidates for a position, interview 5-10, and by the time I get to the interviews, I really am pressed for time. A letter for me would impress me much more than a follow up phone call. I would like to hear a thank you for my time in interviewing you, what you would look forward…
  • ^This. Working on a BS in Management. Think "people management", not "business management". Plus I think it's funny that in a few months I can put on my resume I have a "BS" in Management.
  • Love the beach picture and the sunglasses, and I can practically hear the Southern drawl from TN!
  • My mind is burning and I can't unknow what I now know. Thanks. Just thanks. LOL
  • Biking, running, and some repetitive movements tend to make one of my knees hurt, but zumba doesn't. Here it's $3 walk-in or a monthly punch card for $30. Where I go they also have black light zumba, which is a lot of fun.
  • It may depend on what medications you're taking. Some are going to make it really hard to lose weight because of the weight gain side effects. You may have to discuss with your doctor adding a complementary medication to help stabilize your blood sugar and insulin if that is a problem (Metformin), and be really structured…
  • Great ideas! I'll add these to my list. I've been doing grapes, kashi bars, string cheese, bananas, and greek yogurt, so these are all great alternatives. Keep 'em coming!
  • At 100 calories per 8 oz, it's going to be hard to meet a 1200 calorie goal while drinking very much Dr. Pepper. IMO, things with lower carbs/higher protein will be your friend, along with lots of veggies. Maybe things like greek yogurt, chicken, eggs/egg whites, tuna, cottage cheese.
  • I haven't heard of it, but I know at Walmart here they have a low-cal bread that is 40 calories a slice. Tastes really bad though. I'm going to look for this Smart Carb bread tomorrow to try.
  • Great job! I know how hard you must have worked for it, and you deserve to feel great about the loss! Just a few more pounds. YOU GOT THIS!
  • So, update.....I took this week off Insanity since I'm working early mornings (3:30 am to 2:00 pm) and I'm just wiped out anyway when I get home. I'll start where I left off next week. I've dropped two pounds this week, but haven't recorded it as a loss yet until I make sure it's not just water weight. The posts from you…
  • Chili's. Anything other than their sirloin seems to be loaded with calories. Very hard to eat there and watch calories.
  • ^This. For Christmas one year when my husband and I were first married he bought me a new jacket. Keep in mind I was really skinny at the time and wore a size 4..... He bought me a size 16. The reason? It was closest to my age. Boys are dumb. They have no idea how women's sizes work.
  • I'm 5' 0", and have moderate+ profile, under the muscle, 500 cc saline implants overfilled to 550 cc done about four years ago. That puts me right at a 36DD. I debated on if I should go this size or a little smaller, and I'm so glad I went the bigger size. If you're debating between two sizes, go with the bigger one unless…
  • They would think I'm a college student (and they would be partially right). 2011 Kia Soul. Strawberry air freshener, very tidy car, cell phone charger, government and business management books in the back seat, mixed CD ready to play. My husband's truck is spotless with the exception of a gym bag. They would think he's a…
  • The other day at work one of my coworkers told me they were making a run to McDonald's for breakfast for everyone and asked me if I wanted anything. When I told her no, thanks, she said, "I didn't think so since you don't really eat junk food, but I thought I'd ask." Made me feel good. :)
  • Some days. But then I think about my in-laws sitting in their recliners, resigning themselves to non-activity at the age of 60 and their poor health. And I think, "oh hell no! That is not going to be me."
