Long story: When I was in elementary school, I participated in a gifted program that required me to go to a different school one day a week. Well, that one day happened to coincide with me missing one of the twice-weekly gym classes, and the gym teacher took it as a personal offense. So on the one gym class a week that I…

Pandora's Bollywood Workout station. Peppy beats, and not in English, so I'm not tempted to try to sing along when I'm running.

Well done, and keep going! You can do it! (and think what a great example you're being for your little one!)

I had problems with tingling in my feet, and the folk at my local running store said that it was because my arch was so high that the shoelaces were pressing on the nerves there. I changed the lacing on my shoes to kind of skip over the very top part of my foot, and haven't had a problem since.

Got my 2 miles in for today too! It feels so darned GOOD! Now, to figure out the work week.
-
And 2 miles first thing this morning! Was hoping for 4 (two laps) but the new hill I've added to my old route may kill me. Gonna have to work up to 2 of those.
-
So, I was so excited thinking about going for a walk/run tomorrow, that I decided to go tonight! Even got my kiddo to go with me. So that's about 2 miles under my belt, 40 minutes or so. I can't wait to go again tomorrow morning.

The scary thing is, you actually live close enough that you could be peeping in my windows. *goes to look*

I will hold you to that. It's a date for Sunday.

Mine still says 130, and I can't honestly say that I DID weigh that when I was 16. I was probably over, even then. However, I have asked the DMV repeatedly to change the weight to make it more accurate, and they have refused to do so. *shrug*

Just found out recently that there's a nerve right across the top of your foot that can be compressed by the laces. I second the suggestion to see if there is a different way to lace your shoes, it can make a huge difference.

I haven't worked a hay field in years, but in some perverse way, I miss it. Always made me feel so strong and capable, throwing those 75-pound bales up on that big tall truck... *sigh* Memories. Sorry I'm not more help though.

I run in Vibrams. I highly recommend that you follow the breaking-in instructions that came with the shoes, otherwise you're going to be in a lot of pain. Running in this style is using a ton of muscles you don't normally use, and you have to build them up like any others.

The older I get, the more dairy bothers my stomach. (and it's sad, 'cause I LOVE cheese) I find myself switching more and more to almond milk when I can.

There are many different kinds of yoga. I find that I love some, and despise others. The problem being that learning which is which can be expensive if you buy all the DvDs. Maybe check out your local library? A lot of times they'll have exercise dvds you can borrow, and it might help you get a better idea of what you…

York Peppermint Patties. *sigh*

My husband had the exact same thing happen. Varying degees of pain for probably two or three months. No other neurological symptoms, no problems with the eye itself, clean MRI/MRA, no signs of a sinus infection that they could see. They never did figure out the cause of it, and it finally went away on its own. Very…

They make socks now, with toes, to go inside the Vibrams. The brand is Injinji, I think. I have a light weight pair, and they work great inside my VFFs, but I think if I got the heavier weight pair I might have to take my VFFs up a size. And I think VFFs typically run in the $100 range, from what I've seen.

My knees are shot. Have been since high school. (ok, most of my joints aren't good, it's just the way I am) I always thought I'd never be a runner, 'cause it HURT. And then I got my Vibrams, and switched up my running style. I can run forever now. (Well... I can run about 2/3s of my 1.5 mile route, but I'm working up to…

Is it your whole foot, or just your toes? The toe issue could be a shoe fit problem. There's a nerve that runs up the top of your foot, and if you happen to have a high arch, having your shoes laced tightly over that nerve can cause tingling/numbness in the toes. Different shoes, or different methods of lacing can…

My nine-year-old daughter cheers me on every step of the way. She does yoga with me, walks with me sometimes, and is helping me try out new vegetable recipes that the whole family will eat. We've had talks about the fact that mommy's not dieting, she's changing the way we ALL eat, so we can ALL be a healthier family. I…

If you are genuinely uncomfortable, it doesn't matter if he's innocent or not. And if he IS innocent, he will probably be mortified to find out that his actions have bothered someone, and he will alter his behavior accordingly. I have a real hard time hearing women told "Oh, just let it go" or "oh, don't be so uptight."…

Count me in! I can't do my own pushups yet. ;)

I love cottage cheese flavor just for cottage cheese flavor. BUT, I had a friend in college who used to put diced tomatoes, bacon bits, and ranch dressing in hers.(not very calorie friendly, and I'm not sure it was cottage cheese after that)

Rock on!

I am totally sold on my Vibrams. I wear the Bikila LS style, and like some of the others said, I never ran before I had these shoes. My knees just wouldn't take a normal running style, but with the barefoot style, it's awesome. Definitely do the breaking in period. You'll think it's silly, and slow, but in the end you'll…

Asparagus! Loving it right now grilled with garlic/salt/pepper. Of course, I have learned as I've gotten older that a lot of my "hated" foods were actually because my mother couldn't cook. It's amazing how good some things are when they're cooked properly.

Just hit 173 and my size 12 jeans are getting pretty darned loose. Not quite able to transition to 10s yet, though.

I use this one, it's one of my favorites. Did a little dance the day I was finally able to get through all of the circuits. And like the poster above said, I use a HRM, so I have created my own exercise for when I do this DVD and log the minutes/calories that way.
