Waking up at 6:15 to get to a class at the gym at 7. I am totally not a morning person but I may start being on!

I didn't think it was the medicine since i have been on it for a few months now with really no side effects. Especially compared to Nortriptyline which was really freaking me out. That stuff had me feeling like ripping my skin off... I just thought that I should not be having migraines since I am taking medicine. This is…

That looks good. Does it come out chewy or crunchy?

I visually punish myself by working out in front of a mirror in shorts and a sports bra. Every time I look over and see my gut or a back roll jiggling I just get disgusted and work harder. :noway: However I also keep going knowing that eventually its all going to disappear or tighten up.

Wal-Mart TJ Maxx Target Old Navy Academy Sports Last week was my first time buying workout stuff from Target and I got some great deals on clearance. I got 2 pairs of reversible shorts and one pair the had the spandex tights underneath for $9 a piece. i also got 2 sports bras at $11 a piece. I managed to find 2 matching…

I have been stopping and starting for a month now. Technically this is my third attempt at completing the program. I am finally consistently doing it and am on week 2. I have lost 4 lbs, I'm starting to see some definition in my calves, and my stomach is going down judging from how my shirts are now fitting. Can't wait to…

You look great!! I know what I'm doing after Insanity!!

I will be 27 this Friday. Never married and no children. I just like to think that I haven't found anyone that's comfortable having this much awesomeness around all the time. Too much pressure. Lol, j/k.

Excellent question!!

I think if you lift the same weights everyday and your body is used to it, no. If you're still building endurance or strength from said activity, sure. If you're not growing from it I don't see why it counts. How is it helping one progress? That is what I am asking and not getting any answer to. Its ok though, I've made my…

Best of luck! I certainly hope you achieve the results you're looking for!

Yes walking it would require more effort than catching the bus but if you walk 17 miles a day everyday and this a normal part of your routine, why is it counted as exercise? If you're doing this everyday shouldn't your body be used to it? I could see it being counted for the first few months or so until you get acclimated…

Well the only reason I was even considering both was because they were on sale for the 4th of July. What I am willing to spend in fitness toys is limited as well until I get a better understanding of what exactly works for me. I am already pretty active because i have a full time (40 hrs/week) job in a hotel and a part…

Funny we have the same name (Tiffany) and the same goals (30 more lbs). I have workout ADD too I find it difficult to stay committed to the same thing for long periods of time. I think your program could be pretty successful if you are consistent and keep a close eye on what you eat. If you have the full Insanity program…

Thanks y'all! I decided to get the HRM. I think long term it might be my better option.

How much is it?

I am a video junkie (I frequently find cheap but effective workouts at places like Wal-Mart and TJ Maxx), I love dancing (PRIVATELY, lol, so I can really let loose), running around the neighborhood and at parks, YouTube... You could always take it back to gym class with suicides, squat thrusts, push-ups, mountain climbers…

LMBO! YES!!

Your monster is nice. The little *kitten* that hangs around here has forced me to speed walk to a gas station at 3 am in my pjs with a handful of sofa change. :embarassed: Gum helps sometimes but there are other times where I just have to feed the things to get a moment's sanity... :ohwell:

I don't know why but after I read "it made me feel like a BOSS" I just started cracking up. I'm happy you don't have to stand like a statue either. I'm horrible. I figure if I get a good running sweat going I'm in the game. *shrug* Did y'all find it was easy to set up?

Aaaahhh, ok. Thank you all for clearing that up. I don't quite understand the TDEE thing yet so I'll just stick with counting calories. I am really excited I found the FT4 so cheap. I think being able to see my estimated calorie burn will give me another motivating factor. @faceoff CAYUTE BABY!!

Bump. Anyone?

Bravo! Awesome post!!

Boxing maybe?

YES!

This was a great explanation for me. Especially since I have the same amount of allotted calories. I also wonder if it matters more along the lines of what you eat vs how much. Certainly 1400 calories of fruits, veggies, and lean meats is different than 1400 calories of processed foods, grease, and sweets. Though I would…

^^^^ YES! I totally agree with that. I try now to keep healthy alternatives readily available. Frozen Greek yogurt is one of my faves, fruit including craisins, and stuff with peanut butter. That usually does the trick but if not I just try to go to sleep or occupy my mind with other stuff

Awesome thread! Y'all really having me looking at my goal in a whole new light. I'm still a work in progress. In that pic I was about 188. At my heaviest I was 196. I am now 166. Before: Now:

For me, it depends on what and how much I eat. If I eat pretty light (fruit and yogurt or something like that) I can workout as soon as 30 minutes afterwards. If I eat something heavier or kind of greasy (grits, sausage, etc) I give myself at least an hour.

Great strategy! I guess I wouldn't have gotten so confused if it was shown differently. Maybe showing how many calories I needed to eat to get back to 1440 after exercise vs showing the total I will have eaten altogether. Lol, it freaked me out a bit.
