  • Wow! I love subway - I always think of it as a healthy alternative when I'm in a hurry. I give it to my kids and I don't feel bad. When I buy deli meat, I always buy whatever is nitrite/nitrate free, but I don't think too much about it when I'm at subway. I suppose, though, that clean eaters might not think it to be clean?…
  • This is spot on! Health - not weight, especially for our kiddos. I HATE that my daughter would rather eat chocolate than her veggies - but she's just like me! I have to say "no" to my kids. I have to remember not to buy junk and keep it in the house or they find it. I have to remind them how important their veggies are…
  • Really? Wow! For me a size is usually just a few pounds - but it also depends on if I'm exercising or not. I have pants that don't fit when I stop exercising. When I went from an 8 to a 6, I didn't lose more than 2 pounds, but I was exercising A LOT and that changed my body shape. I have really thick thighs, so I know when…
  • This was exactly me when I started using protein shakes. IT WAS THE MILK FOR ME! Have you started using more milk? I switched to Almond milk and it stopped! My doctor also told me that a probiotic would help, so I took one of those for a while too. She recommended Sustenex. No more bloat and no more gas!
  • Maybe 1200 calories aren't enough and that's why you feel like bingeing! I was stuck at a plateau and took everyone on MFP's advice and raised mine from 1200 to 1250 and boom, I lost 2 pounds. Maybe you are actually depriving yourself too much - especially if you are exercising. I also just read an article that talked…
  • I was going to suggest the exact same thing. I don't do it, but a friend of mine has been doing it and she says it helps. I usually just go to bed when I'm starting to feel like bingeing at night. I'm always tired anyway, and usually I think I'm probably more tired than hungry. That helps...sometimes. I also try to save…
  • I wish my goal could be to BE 5'9" instead of 5'. You all are SO lucky! :-) Trust me when I say that "petite" isn't all it's cracked up to be! Good job everyone - you all are so impressive!
  • Me too! I love that! I think you also need to remember that if you "fall off the wagon" that you shouldn't give up - just get right back on!!!! Don't be too hard on yourself. I would look at it as one day at a time, one pound at a time. Little by little. Baby steps. Once you get about a month in and start seeing some real…
  • My problem is that I used to be used to that 2 to 3 pound fluctuation. Now that doesn't seem to happen - I gain that "water weight" and it takes a week and a half to lose it again. Frustrating!!!
  • That's funny!!!!! Same here - JUST one? That's impossible. Chocolate and pizza are biggies for me though!
  • \ That is EXACTLY what I was going to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I bet it was a GREAT feeling to hit the 30 pound mark AND to get under 200. That is sooooooooo awesome!!!!
  • If I do that I end up with LESS than 1200 calories. Hm. I better stick to 1200, although I feel like my scale isn't budging either :-(
  • I don't necessarily gain a ton - but that is EXACTLY how I feel!!!!! My waist gets big and I feel so bloated and gross, like I have eaten an entire pepperoni pizza! It sucks to be a woman!
  • Wow! This is so amazing! You are really an inspiration. Happy Birthday and what an awesome birthday for you!!!!!
  • Really? That is really cool!
  • Have you had your thyroid checked? I have had the same issue, and last year when it happened to me I went to the dr. She did a bunch of blood work and it turned out that my thyroid was messed up. She had me take a supplement and that seemed to help.
  • I was at the gym a couple of weeks ago and I overheard a trainer telling a client about weight loss: It takes 4 weeks for you to notice a difference, it takes another 4 weeks for your family to notice a difference, and it takes ANOTHER 4 weeks for everyone else to notice. I'm not sure how long it has taken you, but it…
  • SO impressive!!!! Check out the blog "Run for cookies" or something like that (I think you should be able to google it). You remind me so much of her (your journey). Keep up the good work!!!!!
  • Wow! Soooooooooooo impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an inspiration!!!!!
  • I LOVE the fat free vanilla almond milk. I make my Body by Vi shakes with it. It tastes nutty. I can't drink regular milk - it hurts my stomach. I have the same frustrations you do, but I know that my weight can fluctuate within a 2 pound range. I actually weigh myself every night AND every morning. I usually weigh 1 pound…
  • Try being barely 5'1'. My siblings all pick on me and say I'm not 5 feet tall but I have been measured!!!!! I HATE being short and stubby. I have friends who are short but whose legs and arms are long, so they don't really look short. I am not long in any way and I have the thickets thighs and calves! It wouldn't matter…
  • Oh my gosh - you can eat like that AND lose weight? I want to be you!!!!! But, those aren't very healthy food choices :-) When you get old (like me) you might regret it :-)
  • Thank you for ALL of the answers. I really don't use added sugars except for the sugar I put in my coffee. I'm going to try to use the replacement (that I can't think of the name for right now) that comes from sugar, but I really HATE artificial sweetners so when I have my coffee I think I should just use the real thing…

  • That is awesome! 4 miles is HUGE -especially when in pain! Congratulations!
  • That's what I love about it too - I have never felt better!!!! And it makes my life so much easier.
  • I've been using Body by Visalus protein powder for about 3 months now. I have lost about 6 pounds but I've lost a lot of inches - I can now wear clothes I haven't worn in a very long time. I love it - I make a shake for breakfast (mocha - with cocoa powder and instant coffee) and one for lunch (butterfinger - it has peanut…
  • I follow a blog about a girl who has lost 160 pounds and has kept it off for 18 months now. She's a runner. She has noticed that as she has lost weight and gotten more fit, she burns fewer calories with the same amount of exercise. She ran 10 miles the other day and only burned a little over 300 calories. So I think you…
  • Have you tried Ezekial bread? It's a sprouted bread and is really hearty and very good. My kids even eat it. It's also a complete protein.
  • I think the nutritional info. I have looked at says "cooked pasta" or prepared. I always weigh my pasta cooked. I definitely weigh based on whatever nutritional info. I have. I don't weigh fruits and veggies - sometimes I count them or eyeball them, but since they are 0 points on weight watchers I don't worry too much…
