That's the truth. I tend to notice the more active I am on MFP, the more consistent my loss is. When I become uninterested or I slack off with tracking, that's when it slows down or creeps back up! When I am 24/7 thinking about my diet, my fitness, tracking my food, etc etc, I can't help but do it! OP, I wasn't quite where…

If it’s a legitimate rape oil, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.

I have eaten between 20g and 80g carbs per day for 2 years now, gradually reducing my levels down to 20g which I have been at since March, about 9 months. There's enough misleading couch-science here, so I'll let my loss speak for itself and the fact that my "brain" is still alive and kicking without those oh-so-essential…

^ I am glad to find a moderately low carb diet and someone that actually has an understanding of good carbs vs. bad carbs. I am more strict (60f,30p,5c), so I do often have steak, burgers, ribs, bacon, or veggies often dripping with animal fat and cheese. But I treat carbs very much the same, minus the occasional wheat. :)…

You are correct. Sugar is far worse then crack because the government doesn't support crack use and doesn't heavily subsidize its creation. Instead we have an entire country addicted to this drug and most don't even know it until it's too late. Crack destroys an individual quickly, but sugar is slowly destroying a nation.

If its something that helps you stay on track and fits in your day well, I don't think theres any reason not to start right away. If its more challenging for you to do it, then maybe wait since you want to focus on getting things right the first few weeks.

Truth! I wear shorts here to work, or even to go out at night to a cafe/bar. Most people do the same unless they are in some kind of stuffy corporate/legal environment. And with that, I prefer long shorts because they look a lot less like the mailmans as someone mentioned earlier.

Welcome! And yes, assuming you didn't come from reddit, check out our main community at www.reddit.com/r/keto for even more great keto information. You can use the search bar there for just about everything. The first days will bring very quick loss, usually from water bloat going away. You'll feel great though and it…

Getting close to losing one terminator. Awww yea.

My family is Jewish and I don't eat carbs. That pretty much eliminates everything good about being Jewish.

I definitely did low carb because of a health condition.. and that was being super morbidly obese and completely addicted to carbs and sugar. Keto helped me overcome that. :) As far as PCOS goes, a LOT of my female friends on keto have it and follow LC because of it. If you have ever seen reddit, check out…

I have been in ketosis since March and I have followed strictly low carb everyday since then, less than 25g per day, usually less than 15 though. Most of my loss has been through low carb eating, and a big chunk of that has been keto. My recent blood results came back perfect and I feel (and look) like an entirely new…

Read this if you want to know what Big Loser is all about, and you can read all about how your heroes Bob and Jillian have their contestants dehydrate themselves and go to such extremes that they develop eating disorders to win for their team. These trainers should be banned from the profession. Hell, Caroline Rhea was the…

I hope this isn't serious. Instead of screwing up adults they are going to give a bunch of teens new eating disorders? Great...

I got on the scale after months and months of binging and avoidance, and I was only 31 pounds away from 500 lbs. I started the next day.

I have the same exact problem.

That is net carbs, yes. I subtract my fiber from the total carbs each day. I typically eat between 20-30g of carbs, and then most days that will be 10-20g of fiber depending on what I eat. My net carbs are almost -always- under 20g per day, and more likely under 15g. I eat between 1200 calories and 1500 calories typically,…

There is nothing in fruit that you can not get from other sources, it may be natural sugars, but it is still a sugar in the end. I very sparingly eat dew, cantalope, apple, etc. It's a "treat" to me. On the other hand, a FROZEN bag of steamed broccoli and cheese contains 22 grams of carbs, 16 net. That's with the added…

I've been doing strict keto (65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs) since March with very few "cheats" or side tracking. It's been pretty incredible. I've dropped from 340+ to 253. The rest of my weight was generally low carb aside from the first 50 lbs which was awful, full of hunger and miss-steps the whole way. (Can anyone…

Just do it by the size of the egg, extra large, large, etc. If I use a large egg, and all I do is fry it up in some butter I will often use the "fried egg" entry. But the only difference between that and a large egg is that it typically adds a bit of fat from frying it. Really though, its so minor that it doesn't matter at…

The only thing killer about egg yolks are how delicious they are. Kills me every. single. morning. next to my bacon of course.

Corn is making us fat. End of story. Do a tiny bit of research on the subject and it's overwhelmingly obvious. Look at corn use and weight gain in the 60's and 70's when corn syrups started replacing natural sugar. Look at the weight gain of the nation since "Low fat, high sugar" became the big weight loss craze. (Funny…

The general boards here are terrible for *everything*. Dieting, lifestyle, religion, politics, etc. Whatever it may be. They are pretty much the yahoo answers of fitness forums. I pretty much only read/reply to them for comedic value/trolling. Occasionally its fun to go into a ridiculously misinformed thread though and…
