I vote yes. I use 4 different types of elliptical machines and just list them under elliptical trainer.

I completely understand what you're going through. For me it's the crazy schedule that seems to be my biggest obstacle. Since you don't have a gym I'd say take walks and/or run. Slow is fine! I can honestly say that I've heard this before. My wife had the same issues. We have 5 kids and after every child she was able to lose the weight pretty easily. I plan on counting calories as it really makes me think before I reach for a snack. I stop and think about it and pass. Thankfully there is an app on my android phone that really has helped me.
